According to F4WOnline.com, TNA star MVP suffered a knee injury during a Preston City Wrestling event in The UK last night.
The injury took place during a tag team match, and MVP later said it was a "popping of the knee." He reportedly limped to the back immediately following the injury.
MVP was scheduled to work tonight's Preston City event, but is unable to as the injury put him on crutches. MVP cut a promo at the event saying X-Rays proved inconclusive and he will have to undergo an MRI.
MVP is scheduled to face Eric Young at TNA Slammiversary for the TNA Title, and it's unknown at this time whether or not MVP's injury will put the bout in jeopardy.

They're dead in the water anyway, but MVP doing the Bret Hart "Hart Foundation Knee Injury" gimmick could be money. Or not lose as much money angle.

They should get used to all those empty arenas... What a joke. The shots of Jarrett looking concerned and contemplative are my favorite.

Any other business would be in deep shit. Somehow this one just cranks along on daddy's money. I just don't get it.

They love to have new content filling up their prime time schedule once a week, but they most likely aren't going to be in the market next time to really pay all that much for it. Not as much as their last contract for sure.

is there any chance that they just say fuck you to TNA and ink a deal with ROH or probably more likely AAA?

is there any chance that they just say fuck you to TNA and ink a deal with ROH or probably more likely AAA? Suppose its possible, but they also know TNA will spend money on certain television presentation standards where ROH hasn't had a track record of doing the same. A lesser television presentation production would result in a perceived damaged of the Spike TV brand. Definitely something to keep our eyes on.

Impact guarantees Spike 1,000,000 viewers each Thursday.
They are in no hurry to replace that.

Oh when the deal comes up, I imagine the best Spike does is continue to pay what they pay now. No way they offer more to keep TNA. And TNA has to take it.

Right, and that could be less, not the same. That's my point.

I think Spike could play some hardball with TNA with GFW looming. 'Course Slapnutz wrasslin is probably going to CMT.

TNA star MVP will be unable to compete in the Slammiversary main event on Sunday, TNA announced Friday morning.
TNA will announce a replacement match for the scheduled TNA Title match of Eric Young vs. MVP later today.
"My knee injury is legit. I'm very disappointed by the timing of this injury and the unfortunate repercussions that accompany it," MVP tweeted.
MVP said on Chris Jericho's podcast this week that he has a torn meniscus, but he still planned to compete at Slammiversary. However, TNA was already going through contingency plans in the event that MVP could not wrestle.
"Regarding my knee and whether or not I'll be able to go this Sunday, that's a conversation that I'm currently having with Creative and we'll see what happens. I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure I can go," MVP told Jericho.
Poor TNA...

I think I just read where the title match is now gonna be a 3-way.....with the winners of Lashley/Joe and Aries/King advancing. Unless somebody was joking.

So Lashley and King will win. Aries will come down and be in EY's corner during the main event to make sure everything is on the up and up.
Then he'll turn heel because TNA bitch.

Spike needs to drop TNA like the bad habit it is, and ink a deal with AAA. Those hipsters who like TNA will jump all over the lucha bandwagon, and the TV will make more sense, even if the broadcasters are speaking Spanish. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

However, Burnett is working on an English language version. If they included a couple familiar faces, it could match TNA.

This Jarrett thing had better work out. But I'm starting to join the WR side. Right now, it's shaping up like a steaming pile of bad. It's simply stunning that one of the growing number of media billionaires doesn't want to run a competing organization to WWE. You have a passionate fan base as a floor to break even. Instead of paying huge numbers for live programming, pull a Ted and run it yourself.
The fact that TNA drew very bad attendance at their stadium shows last weekend really had morale down among the roster that was on the road.
Word is that so many talents have been let go, talents know that the Carter family is hardly putting any new money into the company and since wrestlers usually judge how things are going based on the crowds, it’s said that there is a feeling of uneasiness about the future even more than ever before right now. The lack of a TV deal is also part of the morale problem but TNA sending stars to the Spike TV awards show last week could be a sign that their talks are progressing.
Several TNA stars have recently contacted Ring of Honor for work and some are hoping that Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling will be an option. There’s also some concern that few details on GFW have been confirmed and it’s getting closer to the time when fall programming is announced.

Bitter.
@jrsbbq So the Von Erich's return to the metroplex and win by DQ? This can't be true. I obviously no longer understand my 40 year vocation. WTH

It cracks me up how much he hates DQs when during his time announcing he called a billion DQ finishes and would probably argue it advanced the story.
I actually don't disagree with him on this but I do find him also talking out if both ends of his mouth.

A worse guy than me would say he literally can't talk out of both sides of his mouth anymore.
