I'm going to give this a shot tonight. I've never been a huge Bill Simmons guy, but enjoyed his stuff back in the day. Hopefully this is the start of something great with HBO Sports.

I used to like him a lot. Loved his old Vegas articles when he was starting out. And his wrestling ones. But ever since Grantland he is kind of a self important turd.

I used to like him a lot. Loved his old Vegas articles when he was starting out. And his wrestling ones. But ever since Grantland he is kind of a self important turd. This is pretty damn close to my feelings on Simmons. I still hope the show is good. |

I still occasionally listen to Simmons' sports podcasts where he has a guest writer or his friends for the most part. The chemistry is good. He says a lot of dumb stuff but it's in good fun. Not if a Skip Bayless way if you get what I'm saying.
All that being said, my consumption of his stuff has declined. He's trending toward penis territory.
Also all his pop culture stuff is horrible.

This was not only better, but I was highly entertained this week.
It involves Bill Hader telling a story about a behind the scenes bit with Lorne Michaels. They would do a skit that involved Lorne telling stories about eating dinner with serial killers. Oh, and the #GetTheonsDickBack campaign is started.
