Carmella to Smackdown. Poor Bayley. If she wasn't picked on the actual show, she's better off not being picked. Same for the big guns like Nakamura & Joe. Have them debut later but a lot better than a throwaway draft pick online. |

Here's something else to ponder. Raw gets the far superior roster but I'm sure they'll still have the shitty announcers which pretty much negates everything. And I know that some of you like Stephanie and Foley but they don't do anything for me either.
Then there's the fact that the cruisers will be exclusive to Raw but you know damn well that Vince likes nonsensical shit on his flagship show and I really think the cruiserweights are going to be absolutely shit on.

Final shot was of Slater alone in a room waiting to be drafted. Got a chuckle out of that.
Holy shit did Raw destroy SD. So Raw has the US/Tag/Womens & then presumably a CW champ? To go with a World champ. 5 titles.
Smackdown has the World & IC.
That draft online was terrible.

At least they didn't really break up the Wyatts. Harper is still on the shelf and undrafted. They lost strowman who vince has a hard on over due to his big glorious size.
I don't even know how to process this. There is no storyline rhyme or reason to these picks. You have to create all of these inner show storylines yet the biggest and only storyline is raw vs smackdown/shane vs steph/ foley vs bryan.

Another oddity of Smackdown having the weak roster is that it goes against.......NOTHING in the fall where RAW will go against MNF for 4 months.

Raw also has all the great talkers. Ambrose isn't terrible but he's just weird. AJ has never been known for his promo skills. Cena is beyond formulaic and Orton bores me to tears on the mic.

Positives far outweigh the negatives for this.
Positives- Graves is fantastic, Saxton is only on one show, we don't have to hear JBL for 3 hours, Mauro gets to continue being Mauro
Negatives - Graves will probably have Vince in his ear, which is scary.
Sad but quiet exit for Jerry Lawler. I've liked heel King these past few months. His best commentary in years.

Re-watching the picks they made on TV last night & Stephanie McMahon sounds like Kermit the Frog whenever she does that "deep, try to sound tough, but comes out really stupid" voice.
Her & Mick should sing Rainbow Connection on Raw next week.

I didn't think it was possible for me to complain about the drafting of two shows but here we are.
I'll take the wait and see approach I guess, but we've got some great talent going to a show that can't create compelling storylines.
We have a lot of old talent headed to a show that has been positioned to be new and different.
It does set up for AJ styles to have feuds with Cena (currently), Rollins, and Orton.

Smackdown will (hopefully) allow people like Apollo Crews to get the IC title.
They also mentioned that Corbin is a future World Champion, which, oh brother. I definitely see Corbin being used in a bigger role though. Other than Corbin, they only have Wyatt, Miz & AJ as heels.
Raw won the TV draft. Smackdown I honestly think won the post-show draft.

Trying to look at how they'll book certain guys on Smackdown. American Alpha, are already the top team on Smackdown. The only exception could be The Usos. Gable & Jordan are aleady a better team than Breezango, Ascension, Vaudevillians & Hype Bros (if they choose to pair them). THAT'S IT!
Actually fine with the women that got drafted to SD (despite not being a title to challenge for), young girls like Carmella, Alexa, even Eva, will be fine paired with experienced girls like Nattie, Becky & Naomi.
Cena/Styles for Summerslam I assume. They can't build a New Day/Wyatts tag title match after this PPV, so that's out the window. What's Bray do for Summerslam? Wrestle Ambrose? Wrestle Ziggler?
It's fascinating/disappointing the lack of people they have on Smackdown.

Just thought about this one. Ryder is a good solider, goes to NXT, and forms a tag with Mojo. Granted, they might have just released him. His reward? The WM victory and a nowhere run. Now?
"Hey, Ryder tagged with that, what's his name? The spaz in NXT that got kicked off the Gronk cruise. We need a new job team on Smackdown. Ryder isn't doing anything. Why not?"
