I just don't understand the Packers line. I guess it's just because it's the "Packers" and it's the "Jaguars" but there is very little to feel comfortable about when it comes to the Packers other than perhaps the secondary.
* Aaron played 2 series during the preseason, is coming off a down year, is a pretty boy (especially since meeting Olivia) and hasn't been the same since breaking up with Kevin.
* Eddie Lacy is still fat.
* Ted decided to completely disrupt the O-line with just 10 days to go and for absolutely no reason. Lane Taylor sucks. Now today Bahktiari or however you spell it has been downgraded. The O-line was somewhat thin even before the Sitton trade. Now you lose him and possibly your left tackle as well. You also happen to be missing your starting center from last season.
* The wide receivers are suspect. Jordy didn't play a down all preseason. Coming off an ACL. First year back is always a struggle with that type of injury. Cobb is coming off a down year. Janis has a broken hand. Davante Adams, Ty Montgomery, Jared Abbredarius and the rookie haven't proven a thing in this league. Jared Cook looked good in the preseason but still only worked a series or two with Aaron.
* The defensive line is thin. Between sudden retirements and suspensions, it's far from a given that it's even an average line.
* Your rookie 4th round linebacker is wearing the headset. He's starting next to last year's 4th rounder. Plus they're white.
*As I said, the secondary should be solid as should the outside backers. (Though I personally prefer Clay on the inside and think he's overrated on the outside.)
I don't even think Jacksonville needs the points. They're gonna win outright.

Wife says she will cut the lawn while I watch football. She thinks riding the mower is fun or therapy or something. Works for me. Check.

Lucky that nobody really hammered it.
I'm still holding out an idea the Bears will be shut out. But I don't trust Houston to not score 40. So I'm betting Bears under 19.5 team total. Sorry that's not offered in this contest.

So this is interesting. I guess I under-estimated how much people would "bet" in this contest, considering they don't actually lose real $. But it's a long season, so it will be interesting to see how the big shooter strategy works out. Take a big shot to try to win a week is a strategy I tried myself last year. I'm trying to stay disciplined to not do that again, but in a contest full of big shooters firing away with 10-30% bets, it might get hard to remain this way.

Here are this week's results so far, through Sunday night. The weekly winner is the one who wins the most $. Tie-breaker is win %. With a $500/game max bet and two games tomorrow night, everybody is in it...this week anyways as everyone's bankroll is still above $1600.  |
