FINN BALOR SUFFERS SHOULDER INJURY AT WWE SUMMERSLAM BY DAVE MELTZER | @davemeltzerwon | AUG 22, 2016 9:00 AM Finn Balor's crowning moment of winning the Universal title over Seth Rollins at SummerSlam may be for naught as he was injured, believed to be from a powerbomb into the barricade spot in the match last night. The severity of the injury is unknown at this point as he's scheduled for an evaluation today at television but his arm was in a sling and there was fear he would need surgery. If he's unable to perform for more than a few weeks, it'll require some major overhauls in creative plans since his title was scheduled to headline all the Raw brand shows. We will attempt to get updated information on the situation, but if the injury will keep him out of action, it will likely be addressed on Raw later today.

Smackdown/Wyatt kidnapping!!! They have had about 5 shots to do this in the past with different people. This would pump some interest into smackdown.

Easy enough to fix. Rollins gets title and defends it until Balor is back and they have a match. Tada!

Unless he is out for 9 months or something like that I would rather he keep the belt and they develop his supernatural side. The belt means a fraction of what it used to mean so IMO its not like you have to have someone defending it every week.
I would actually be more entertained at Rollins bitching about him not defending the belt. He is a pretty good whiner so that could be a thing.

I thought Rollins should have won anyway. The more they say Demon King the more I am over Balor.

Bite your tongue.
Balor is the man.
There wasn't a "wrong" decision with that match. Either way it was going to be good.

I like Balor but Rollins with the title is awesome. Balor chasing it sells more tix.

The demon king stuff is dumb, I don't like his dumb accent, he's not imposing physically in the least, the foot stomp deal is lame and he wears a damn pants belt from his head when he does the demon deal.
Other than that I love his in ring work.

I say Balor keeps the title until WrestleMania & the prediction game ends, so I don't get dicked over on points already by him losing the title!

I hate that KS agrees with me. But his post above is spot on (except the accent part, that doesn't bother me).

You guys better stop sassing off about the Demon King or you are going to end up with a year of programming based around the Demon Kane.

The best Balor "Demon" entrance was NXT London. Specifically because he didn't have the fucked up headgear.

He looks like a court jester with a broken heart. He may as well come out to Paradise City.

He look like he belongs in that old alice cooper video for welcome to my nightmare that beavis and butthead used to rip into.
I would go with the Joker paint but idk if there are copyright issues with that....if that is even something you can infringe with.

Dudleyz are apparently "saying farewell" tonight.
Hopefully we get Bully Ray beating the crap out of D-Von. Honestly don't want to see them feud, but want Bully to be a solid mid level singles star.

Foley announced that Balor is relinquishing the title tonight. FUUUUCCCCKKK!!!!
What say we knock it off with the buckle bombs, eh Rollins? Injure Balor, end Stings career.
So does forfeitures count as title losses in the fantasy prediction thing? Sure hope not.

NoDQ.com > WWE > What WWE originally had planned for Balor as Champ Posted by Aaron Rift on 08/24/2016 at 11:46 PM
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, WWE originally planned for Finn Balor to defend the Universal Title against Kevin Owens at the Night of Champions PPV on September 25th. Chris Jericho had been planned to be added to the storyline leading to a triple threat match at the Hell in a Cell PPV on October 30th.
Both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were both originally scheduled to be out of the Universal Title picture for a few months. Due to Balor’s injury, they could end up right back in the mix. WWE had been hoping to keep Reigns in a program with Rusev to get Reigns more over with the fans but the company is lacking in a top babyface. WWE doesn’t have plans for Sami Zayn or Cesaro at the top and Big Cass isn’t considered to be ready for that top spot yet.

I'll be at the house show the day prior. They've already taken Balor off the page for Moline on WWE.com.
On a positive, Bayley has been added. So I'm fucking thrilled I finally get to see her!
They're still airing commercials here in the Quad Cities advertising Balor vs Owens. I immediately become sad again.

I'm fine with them having wrestlers stand up for themselves & challenge/taunt Bryan, however, they need to make sure that Bryan doesn't come off looking like a bitch in the process. He needs to do something to stand up for himself in one of these exchanges, otherwise he'll be the GM who speaks his mind, then walks away when the other person is going after him.
Swear to God after watching it again & seeing how Bryan said Miz wrestles a "soft style", i fantasy booked & thought he was going to bring in someone to Smackdown who doesn't wrestle like that, in fact it's someone who specializes in STRONG STYLE, enter Nakamura.

During their Takeover match, Graves and Phillips were saying how Joe was also "strong style". So they could easily bring Joe in to work Miz.

Very true. Whatever they do, they desperately need Joe and/or Nakamura to go to Smackdown, which is incredibly shallow on main eventers. Especially with Cena gone now to shoot American Grit. Ambrose/Styles/Wyatt/Orton, that's really it. Ziggler sure, but c'mon. They could've easily given him the title at Summerslam just for a bit & to at least establish a new(ish) main eventer for the brand, but again, just didn't pull the trigger.
That being said, it does look like they're building a rematch for Joe/Nakamura based off these latest NXT tapings. So a call up to the main roster doesn't seem likely at least for another month+.
