Over a year after being released by the UFC, former MMA fighter Shayna Baszler is receiving a tryout at the WWE Performance Center.
Baszler, a longtime pro wrestling fan, made the transition from the Octagon to the squared circle after being released by the UFC. She made her in-ring debut in September of 2015 and has gone on to wrestle for a number of promotions.
Notably, Baszler generated headlines when she defeated Heidi Lovelace for the AIW Women's Championship earlier this month. After the match, Baszler was joined by Four Horsewomen friends Ronda Rousey and Jessamyn Duke to celebrate the victory.
The 36-year-old Baszler finished with an 0-2 record in the UFC, with losses to Bethe Correia and current women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, after a lengthy career outside of MMA's top promotion.
Squared Circle Sirens first reported the news of Baszler's WWE tryout, and it was subsequently confirmed by Dave Meltzer.

They had a live stream of the workouts at the PC today, showing people do drills. Kingston looked gassed, but it was great to see him. Drake Younger & Eddie talked briefly and Kingston said he'd been shot at before, but this was even tougher than that. I've been a fan of Kingston since I first saw him in 2005, he'd be a solid signing.
Nicole Savoy should absolutely be signed. Heidi Lovelace & Kimber Lee would be excellent signings too. Anything to improve the women's roster in NXT. I get that NXT is a place to get better, but damn, the lack of talent for the women now is rough there. Asuka/Billie Kay/Peyton Royce/Amber Moon, that's it.

I don't know where to put this so this seems as good a place as any. What's Meltzer's deal with Sting? Sting might possibly be scorejr's favorite wrestler of all time. How is he not in Meltzer's Hall of Fame that nobody's cares about? (Granted his HOF might be more accurate in a lot of cases but still) Maybe randomone can ask him via DM or at this year's Thanksgiving dinner.  |

I honestly don't know what to think of that, I mean, what in the hell could they possibly do?

That's certainly not a Mania match (although the last 2 years, I guess it could be). Rumble match itself is the draw for that PPV, so Survivor Series, I get it.
50 year old Goldberg, who hasn't wrestled in 12 years vs Brock, who is incredibly stale at this point? No thanks.

TMZ.com has reached out to Berry for comment, and her camp strongly shut down Flair’s story as bogus.
Sources close to Halle claim “There is NO truth to this! Halle has literally never even heard of him let alone met him!!!”
TMZ was also told Berry is deeply offended by Flair, with a source saying “A man doesn’t get to sexualize and lie about a woman he’s never met to better himself or his name. It’s offensive, demeaning and beyond misogynistic.”
