 Harlem's Hero for Hire, first seen in Jessica Jones, has his own series that dropped on Friday. Mixes American Gangster and a superhero show. Pretty SOLID. Mike Colter is great as Cage, the supporting cast is top-notch too. Remy from House of Cards is Cottonmouth, Alfre Woodard is Black Mariah, Juice from Sons of Anarchy is Shades, and Erik LaRay Harvey is Diamondback. That rounds out the villains. Rosario Dawson is once again Claire Temple, nurse to the super-powered. Simone Missick is Misty Knight, the cop who gets involved with Luke in the first episode and stays there throughout the series. And everyone's favorite low-level hood, Turk Barrett, is back as well. Pretty good series, maybe a little long. Quite topical too, a black man in a hoodie who keeps taking bullets.  This is all leading to The Defenders. |

Watched first 4 episodes so far. Fantastic storytelling. I would rank it up there with Daredevil season 1. The guy who plays Cage is PERFECT. Marvel is just crushing it story wise making old new again and seamlessly updating stories while staying true to them at the same time.

Finished watching yesterday morning. Definitely a lull in episodes 7-10. Diamondback was a shitty villain I think. Cottonmouth was way better. Hell even Shades is awesome. Probably would have helped giving more backstory on Diamondback on how he got his money and connections and the suit with that technology - it was all glossed over quickly. Also how did that doctor get him at the end??? I like that they gave Riva some depth and wasn't all she told Luke she was. Overall thought it was great but probably could have been 10 episodes. A nice breadcrumb on how Iron Fist will be introduced at the end there. They need to speed this up though - taking too long to get to Defenders!!
