The All Japan Baba story is a little weird right now. Getting a Brody vibe.

Finally caught up on last two episodes. While I enjoy the show and the premise, it is exhausting to watch. This multiple timeline gimmick is just too much and hard to keep straight while watching. I enjoy a challenge when watching a show, but this is like Mensa quiz every week. I hope this isn't the format anymore after this season. Flashbacks are OK but not 3 or 4 timelines happening simultaneously.

It was a great hook for the first season.
Don't need it anymore.

I enjoy a challenge when watching a show, but this is like Mensa quiz every week. I hope this isn't the format anymore after this season. Flashbacks are OK but not 3 or 4 timelines happening simultaneously. Agree completely. My complaint is that this could have been an absolutely fantastic one season show. Now they are straying off in too many directions, adding and removing characters, and confusing the audience with the timelines and plots. I thought the show was just fun when guys were coming to Westworld to pound hookers and shoot people. Then it got really deep and complex. And it is turning into a soap opera with things going in circles.
I will watch the rest of this season and then probably say enough. There are still some really fun characters and scenes, but the show is nothing less than exhausting.

Tonight was weird.
Lots of story and action but terrible writing.

The rules of the world have to make sense. And right now they don't.
What does it take to kill a human? MiB was shot at least 5 times. Including once in the chest. And he still was seemed to be alive. So either he found magic medpacks, or we are in more troubling territory and he's a host.
Maeve was shot in the chest as well. Still alive though.

Some really cool things happening here but I also thought this episode in particular was a bit gimmicky instead of making sure the audience could digest the story. I’m going to continue to trust this ride though. It’s been a damn fun one.
Awesome, awesome preview to the next episode!

They are constantly playing piano music here. I've formed a Westworld group that thinks a couple of the workers are robots.

Um, wow! Maybe best episode of the season? It’s amazing how woven all of these characters have become.

Great episode but I hated it's positioning in the season. If it was episode 3, I'd like it more than I did.
Akecheta was the first host to truly gain consciousness. Is he responsible for putting the maze on the scalps of the other Indians? I tend to think so.

Is he responsible for putting the maze on the scalps of the other Indians? I tend to think so. That was my thought. I don’t know how you can position this episode anywhere else with him telling his story to a “dying” Maeve. You lose that whole connection between her, Ake and William. Having him tell the story here was that much more impactful to me. It was cool to finally see who the ghost nation really are. They were positioned to us the same way they were positioned to the rest of the guests as violent with no real redeeming qualities - just bad guys. To see his story played out was awesome. Only two episodes left. I’m assuming a handful of hosts are getting out to end the season? Season 3 should be the final act.

I will try to catch the latest episode tonight. I have to admit to being confused as all hell due to the ever shifting time periods in the series. I have this fear that it will wrap up like True Detective rather than the movie Seven. Meaning, I will be confused by the ending rather than feeling like everything tied out nicely.

Finished the latest episode, which was fine and all. But I really don’t need fresh plot lines and deeper new character dives. I want closure...
It’s going to be a good show regardless of what comes next. But to be great, they are going to have to find a way to make this all tie out cleanly. If it is a choose your own adventure ending (Sopranos eg), then I will be pissed.

I still have fifteen minutes and I think this is my favorite episode of the entire show. Maybe it will replace Trump L'Oreil after the season. Need to let the season play out. But it's at number 2 for me now.

That episode just summarized everything in the show we knew about manipulation, the comps to real life, etc. But it just laid it out there without trying to figure out what the fuck is going on. Loved it. I'll take more "Tony Soprano dream sequence" episodes.
