This tax info coming out on Trump, while not unexpected, is still wild. As a moderate independent, I had a problem with him not sharing his taxes four years ago because I absolutely didn't trust this lying piece of shit. It was obvious he was hiding something major, but of course for most dumb ass, ignorant sheep that will follow him anywhere they couldn't put that together or didn't care that he was screwing the country over big time while I am sitting year having to pay taxes more than not over the last 7 years or so. I'm sorry but as moderate independent that stuff matters to me. I don't like this guy. He's not a good guy. He has a history of stiffing contractors for their work. He hides behind LLC's to screw people over. All of that stuff matters and its exactly why I have never voted for him. I voted for John Kasich four years ago in the Republican primary so I'm not some whacked out liberal. I didn't even vote for Obama on his second turn. I know this information won't have an effect on the election. I will tell you where it will have an effect - on me. Based on the behavior of the GOP the last four years, I will not be voting for any one of them to represent me on capital hill or in the White House, in any capacity, anytime soon. Fortunately for them I live in Illinois so it doesn't matter. Fortunately for them I'm only one person, but I think there are others like me out there, in swing states. Additionally I have donated to Lindsey Graham's opponent.
Defenders of Trump or the Republican party are going to tell me how evil or how extreme the other side is. This is not be jumping on and agreeing with everything democrats do. I am not signing up for the democratic party. Both parties have and still do have people that aren't great and are too extreme. That hasn't been a problem for me as a voter until four years ago. This guy is a piece of shit. He's largely helped create a tribal culture. It got him elected and thats fine and all. There are consequences to his behavior before and during his presidency for both him and the GOP. I had respect for every president during my lifetime, whether I agreed or disagreed - even with some of their personal behavior. None of them light a candle to this asshole's flame.

I agree with all of this. But even one step further - the whole GOP is rotten and corrupted now because of him and the partisan backing. It is maddening to watch these senators and representatives cowtow to his insanity. I also consider myself a moderate independent but traditionally lean conservative. I have never voted for a democrat at any level in any election I have participated in (I foolishly voted for libertarians or independents if not republicans). This year I am voting democrat at every level all the way down the ballot. The corruption of the GOP has to go and Trump enablers with him. It is the only way to let a new party of moderate conservatives come to the forefront and actually represent people with integrity and doing the right thing instead of the latest get rich quick scheme by a lifelong con man intent on using the office for his personal gain. |

Every time I talk to someone over 55 in my family it is me debunking QAnon bullshit they read on Facebook and trying to explain to them that Trump isn't going to save us from some hidden cabal of sex traffickers operating out of a pizza parlor basement in DC.
I don't know how critical thinking skills and common sense skipped almost an entire generation, but here we are. KS may be the most reasonable Boomer I know, and that's scary.

I have a buddy that railed and railed against Obamacare for 2 years. He finally needed it a couple years ago. He's needed to use it countless times over the past couple of years. He's eternally grateful for it at this point.
