What are your thoughts on me? Hold on, let me go check again. I was too flabbergasted by randomone and Woodridge agreeing with one another despite the fact that they were actually disagreeing with each other.

Haha I read it as if he was saying Demolition was the team who had a more difficult run keeping the titles for as long as they did. I listed the amount of amazing teams they were champs against. That was why I did all the liking of posts, haha, I stick to my thought of Demolition had the better run.
KS we're polar opposites for Raw & SD. You enjoy the hell out of Raw most weeks & usually aren't on board with SD and I'm the opposite.
Raw being 3 hours makes me ornery.

Upon further review, you were pretty funny. I was really quite breathtaking. I enjoyed the so Don can watch without pants thing. We also made the same comment about that pasty white guy. Not Don but that English wrestler.

I really have enjoyed the Raw programming quite a bit but I'm not sure if it would have the same nice flow for me if I wasn't watching on DVR. Skipping through commercials, replays and video packages really cuts out a lot of unnecessary crap.

I have to go back and look at what I liked, but I don't care about the competition. I care about who was more over during their run. its not even close. I know randomone is sick of The New Day but they were over more than Demolition could have ever imagined being over. Its not close at all. I said the they needed the tag titles more than the title needed them. In other words, they needed the titles to elevate them. No one talks about great Demolition matches. Yet, you can name a lot from almost all the other tag teams during their era. Waaaaayyyy overrated. Doesn't mean I didn't like them.

KS, I also have a history of liking other people's post if they have differing opinions than I if they give a good solid rebuttle. I don't agree with random at all on this. I will agree its a joke it came down to random singles wrestlers being thrown together for them to beat the streak.

Totally cool we don't see eye to eye on this.
Although I agree completely that New Day is more over than Demolition in that title run (although the pop Demolition got at WM6 was one of the loudest ever, but that wasn't the reign we're talking about). The caliber of competition Demolition had to face was much higher than New Day, but yes, New Day is more popular during their run, no question. Even if a majority of their opponents were scrubs, which I've already listed.
You said no one talks about how great Demolition matches were (I'll never list Demolition in my Top 10 all time fav tag teams, but still, they had some good matches in their run), that's a big complaint I have as they didn't show ANY footage of Demolition in the lead up to this. Why they wouldn't show how great of a title reign that was in order to build up the legitimacy of New Day breaking the record? I can only assume it's because Demolition are/were involved in that class action lawsuit about wrestlers & brain injuries that was filed earlier this year.
I like how they went from heels, to uber over faces, to hopefully slowly back to heels. Now that the record is broken, time to start letting teams get over. You've ruined The Club at the expense of this record, Cesaro/Sheamus (who I think will win the titles) are slowly coming around, there's really no other team. That's a major problem. Shining Stars/Truth&Goldust, that's really it.

You've ruined The Club at the expense of this record That's a great point. They should have just kept the Club away for this long if it was this important to them. Almost treat the like the Outsiders/nWo where they weren't exactly concerned with belts right away. It took those guys 5 months to care about the tag titles. To your point, there just really wasn't anyone to go up against. I think we are making different points. Your point almost takes the view of if this was a legitimate sport, the competition is weak compared to the Demolition run. I'm taking more of the business perspective where I look at the New Day as being one of the hottest, most over characters/teams/stables over the last year and a half. I don't believe they needed the belts to do it. I think the belts did elevate Demolition.

During the late 80s the titles certainly elevated the talent. Agree that New Day probably didn't need the belts to be as over as they did. All it'd do is take away the hip swiveling line they do being the W....W....E....World...Tag..Team....Championsssss.
I don't think when New Day won at Summerslam last year, that the intent was to make them break the record. I think right around Mania is when they were thinking about it. Had it not been for the draft & breaking up the Wyatts, I honestly think they would've lost them to Bray/Harper/Rowan/Strowman (whichever 2). Remember, the Wyatts beat New Day in a PPV match, but it went nowhere due to the draft.
Having them as tag champs for as long as they did, generated a lot of merchandise revenue for them, so in that sense, it's absolutely smart to make as much as possible.
