What we needed in the White House is Don Owen. What we ended up with is Rob Black. This needs to be a signature.

After all these years, Vince McMahon still wants to beat the holy hell out of Bob Costas & I couldn't support that more. Costas seems like a guy who gets off on watching his own interviews. Such a smarmy douche. It's amazing that he's interviewing VINCE MCMAHON (in full Vince mode), yet it's Costas who comes off like a douche. I'm a big Keith Costas guy. It always strikes me that he believes his dad is his mom's old douchebag. But that's back in Missouri.

Wonder if Jonathan Coachman had a running tally for how many cheerleaders he banged?

They said he dated one of the cheerleaders. He also said just a bit ago on the 30 for 30 Facebook live stream that he'll always cherish the time he got to spend with all those cheerleaders.
Coach also intro'd a cheerleaders video package on the stream and he said something with the words "knee deep" about it (can't remember the actual line). Charlie Ebersol then said "oh was that what you were knee deep in?" and Coach just started laughing.
Coach did the Charleston with a few of those stripper/cheerleaders for sure, no matter how dorky he looked like!

Coach, not a bad dude. Had some game. He was either a dork or a miscast Ass GM.

Fantastic documentary. I was a broadcasting major at the time. I enjoyed the XFL quite a bit. The production was so interesting to me and had me rethinking how we were doing things in school.
Can I also say that ending with them at dinner...maybe the best thing I've seen on television in months. I was marking out.

So Meltzer had a whole hour & a half of the Observer talking about the XFL. Some of the most interesting things I heard were Honda pulled out of advertising for it & in retaliation, Vince wanted to blow up a Honda on TV, but Ebersol told him no because Honda was a sponsor for a bunch of other programming. Instead Vince had Lawler on commentary take a shot at Honda during the game, which made Honda & Ebersol furious.
Also the players who won the championship, had to pay for their own rings. Vince refused to pay for anything else that had to do with the XFL after the end.

It is downright perplexing to me that you actually think highly of Dave Meltzer. You just don't seem like someone that would live on his every word.

I don't live on his every word. More like every other word. Haha.
I don't know, I just enjoy listening to him talk about wrestling & the stories he has. He doesn't shit on damn near everything like Alvarez does, which is a good thing (more like only half).
Talking shit about everyone else you guys like as opposed to Big Dave is just part of the gimmick, brother!

Woodridge did you know last year I wanted to go to the Dan Gable Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in Waterloo that they do every year, but couldn't go. I want to go eventually, but last year I heard about how Meltzer was there & had such a great time.
So badly want to get a pic with him & put it as my avatar on here, haha.
Not to mention go to the Hall of Fame. Sounds awesome.

I know, that's why it's #1 on my wrestling priority list! (and to go to a WrestleMania, but that's #2 on the list)
I'm hoping he's the wrestling legend that the Quad City River Bandits bring in for their yearly Pro Wrestling Night. Last year I met Ricky Steamboat, this year BIG DAVE!! Haha.

I can't wait to hear the stories from people that bought WWE stock at $72/share. Maybe I'm pissed because I didn't buy at $13/share. Somewhat separate entities too.

Not gonna lie, I forgot this was coming back until I saw the posts in this thread. If Vince loses $500M trying to start a football league, can we hate on it? The dude had $500M to drop trying to do something even bigger. I don't consider actual capital to be the number one gauge of success. But still.......

Earlier this week it was revealed by the official Twitter account of the XFL that they will reveal all eight teams playing in the inaugural season of the XFL reboot on December 5th. However, that’s not the only update on WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s second attempt at the XFL that has been made.
According to a new listing on the league website, the following cities will host teams of the rebooted XFL:
Dallas Houston Los Angeles New York St. Louis Seattle Tampa Bay Washington, DC Also, XFL recently registered several domain names including three different formats each for 21 different cities, which the list includes all eight teams. The new season is slated to launch in 2020.
The original XFL only had one season, which took place in 2001 and was produced by WWE and NBC. Although NBC signed with WWE to air two seasons of the league, NBC pulled out of its broadcast contract for the XFL after the inaugural season, citing the poor viewership. The league ceased operations entirely in May 2001. The Los Angeles Xtreme was the XFL’s first and only champions. McMahon conceded that the league was a “colossal failure”.
