It hasn't been an awful experience so far. Kind of feels like I'm watching a bad bowl game with interactive production.

First game wasn't bad.
I enjoy the ESPN presentation more than the Fox one so far.

Not too shabby all things considered....
Vince McMahon's revival of the XFL saw its week two viewership drop by an average of 34%, but not nearly as much as they did in their first go-round in 2001.
Saturday
Saturday's 2 PM Eastern game between the DC Defenders and New York Guardians averaged 2.146 million viewers on ABC, down 35% from the opening week. In both the 18-34 and 18-49 demos, they averaged a 0.6 rating, down 25% and 45% respectively.
Saturday's 5 PM Eastern game between the Seattle Dragons and Tampa Bay Vipers averaged 2.324 million viewers on Fox, down 29% from the same time slot in the opening week. The game did a 0.5 in 18-34 (down 44%) and a 0.6 in 18-49 (down 45%).
Both games beat all other sports programming, with the exception of the NBA All-Star Skills competition, in total viewers and the demos. They also topped all other network programming in both demo categories but lost in terms of total viewership to most other network programming.
Sunday
The early Sunday game on ABC was their highest rated game of the weekend, averaging 2.397 million viewers for the Dallas Renegades vs. LA Wildcats. That was down 29% from the early Sunday game last week, although that game aired on Fox. In 18-49, the game averaged a 0.6 rating, down 40% from last week. The 18-34 demo number is not currently available.
The late Sunday game between the St. Louis Battlehawks and Houston Rednecks aired on FS1, the first game to air on that network. It averaged 1.359 million viewers, down 45% from the late game last week that aired on ESPN. That's not a fair comparison as ESPN is in nearly 25% more homes and is a much stronger station overall. The number did beat most UFC events that aired on FS1 during their time there.
Sunday's late game did a 0.42 in 18-34 and a 0.51 in 18-49. Those numbers were 48% and 45% lower respectively from the ESPN numbers the previous week.
As compared to other sports programming, there was a lot of competition on Sunday as the biggest event of the NASCAR season, the Daytona 500, was scheduled to air against both games although it ended up being postponed. Pre-race coverage and a re-airing of last year's race averaged over 10 million viewers. The NBA All-Star game aired on TNT after the games were over and averaged over six million viewers.

I've been reminded twice today, by the announcers, that all of these players aren't in the NFL for a reason. Why would they continue to say this and why hasn't Vince entered the booth to yell at someone?

XFL TV ratings dropped again in week 3, while attendance was up for the third week in a row.
In terms of television ratings, the four weekend games were down 21.8% from the previous weekend, and down 48% from week 1. The four games averaged 1.61 million viewers, compared to 2.06 million viewers the week before.
The drop in viewers is not as drastic as the first incarnation of the league, which saw ratings drop 67% from week 1 to week 3. FOX recently told Yahoo Finance that they see 2 million viewers "as satisfactory" for XFL games. This past Sunday's game on FOX averaged 2.051 million viewers, so it was right at the threshold.
Attendance was up for the third straight week, as the week 3 games posted overall attendance of 81,942, up 9.3% from the 76,285 fans the games drew in week 2. The weekend saw the league garner both its largest attendance with 29,554 fans in St. Louis, as well as its least-attended game with only 12,211 fans in Los Angeles.

Wow. I'm surprised since they had the infrastructure in place. I wonder what the estimate was to keep it going through a second season championship game?

Dude covered up Snuka's murder, Ashlee's gang bang rapes, raped the first female ref the WWF ever had *allegedly, was more than likely very aware of Macho pedo'ing his own daughter, went into business with a country that chopped up an American journalist, beat the whole cocaine & steroid scandals, somehow has gotten away with this whole independent contract thing for like 30 fucking years, has had weird gay sex on his bearskin rug for forever, has had twooooo XFL Leagues fold, has gone out of his way to horde talent & try to harm every opposing company ever, did an entire tribute show to a maniacal killer. I'm probably missing like 289 other things.
He'll be fine.
Unfortunately

Is Vince McMahon trying to buy his own XFL out of Delaware bankruptcy court? The XFL’s creditors seem to think so, and sources said XFL president Jeffrey Pollack has called venues in St. Louis and Seattle about reinstating the lease agreements.
The XFL, 80 percent owned by McMahon through Alpha Entertainment and 20 percent by his WWE empire, launched Feb. 7 and lasted five weeks before shutting down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The league shut down for good April 10 and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy three days later.
But was that just a cutthroat finance ploy by McMahon to ride out the pandemic and resultant economic turmoil without paying the costs of operating the league? That’s what was asked by one former team official, who passed on the tips about Seattle and St. Louis. A representative for Visit St. Louis, which oversees the Dome at America’s Center where the BattleHawks played, confirmed Pollack had reached out about the lease.
A representative for the XFL declined to comment.
But a committee of unsecured creditors had plenty to say Tuesday in a series of court filings. Objecting to Alpha Entertainment’s proposal to pay $3.5 million in season ticket refunds, the committee wrote, “This is an unnecessary expenditure designed to buttress the Debtor’s argument that an abbreviated sales process is required and is being sought to further the efforts of the debtor’s controlling equity holder/secured lender, Vincent McMahon (“McMahon”), to acquire the debtor at a fire-sale price. … The debtor cannot possibly know at this time whether issuing refunds to season ticket holders will preserve the value of the debtor estate’s or benefit any creditor, other than possibly McMahon.”
In other words, the only reason to pay season ticket holders for games they did get would be to ensure goodwill to McMahon for if and when he returns with the XFL. The season ticket holders are unsecured creditors, so the chances they get paid in an orderly liquidation would be remote.
The committee also questioned why XFL headquarters is still open and executives like Pollack are drawing salaries.
“Any cash constraints on the debtor are solely the result of unnecessary and unwarranted expenditures by the debtor designed to placate the desires of McMahon, such as the payment … in ticket refunds to unsecured creditors by an estate that allegedly may become administratively insolvent; retention of the debtor’s headquarters in Stamford, Conn., which is across the street from the (headquarters) of McMahon’s principal asset, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (“WWE”); employees in that locale drawing excessive compensation rates who are not needed for an enterprise that has shut down; and a bloated cost-sharing arrangement with the WWE that has yet to be explained for unspecified finance and accounting services,” the committee wrote. “The … bid procedures are designed to ensure that McMahon can acquire the debtor at a fire-sale price with third parties having little or no meaningful opportunity to do the diligence required to ensure a fair process.”
Unlike the bankrupt Alliance of American Football, the XFL arguably has intriguing intellectual property assets. The XFL spent over a year developing new rules, many of which, like the kickoff and punt, were so well received some asked if the NFL should adopt them. Even the ball was unique to the XFL.
And in certain markets, like St. Louis and Seattle, the crowds were thick and fan passion evident, a remarkable feat for a nascent league. The teams in markets like New York and Tampa, Fla., struggled (and there was talk of relocating those teams), but many XFL markets fared well.
When the XFL shut down, it had more than 400 employees, including players, many highly paid. Dallas head coach Bob Stoops had a two-year, $2 million contract, and team presidents were earning an annual salary in the mid-six figures.
The employees’ only redress is filing claims in bankruptcy court, other than former commissioner Oliver Luck. Because McMahon guaranteed Luck’s pay, he is suing McMahon for $23.8 million in federal court.
