Dammit. Joe doesn't have much crowd heat at all. He'd be perfect to face Lesnar at Average Balls of Fire. He wins a gimmick match with five other people. He is escalated while it happens. They have a brutally awesome match. It would be great. You save Reigns, Rollins, etc. for later.

I've seen worse. Is this the week Matt breaks? I did notice him being more animated. You can argue the reasons, but they rarely do anything on these shows without a reason. But this probably won't be the week. Hopefully they build it for a while. |

Why am I watching this 40th incarnation if I know it's the same matchup in a few weeks?

Here's what kills me about the product today. Having randomone watch old Attitude Era Raw shows has sparked my anger. The product today is better. That's right, I said it. But they don't have any top stars. The matchmaking tonight is the perfect example of why you don't have a top guy.
Rollins v Wyatt FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!! As Kurt announced. Imagine if Seth came back from his injury with the Hunter/U2 rub. The way he works is natural face, while his personality is natural heel. By now, he'd be on top as a very over face for a while. Wyatt could start digging into his family issues from the past. Maybe some of the other ways he's not a good guy. They feud for four months. Three months after that, Seth, realizing everything Wyatt said was right. Goes super heel. Slows down his move set, which also preserves his career for a while. Does an Edge type heel run. Until everyone realizes how awesome Rollins is, and he has one last face run because he's super over as a heel.
Instead, we're going to have Wyatt v Rollins for the first time ever, unannounced, on Raw.

Guys like Kane can't hold a candle to Braun Strowman work-wise. But Kane is a goddamn Hall of Famer who has gotten over for 20 years. |

I'm not sure I'm going to agree the roster is better either. The era I'm watching right now beats the current one. Kurt Angle, Triple H, Austin, Benoit, Eddie, Edge, Christian....and I haven't mentioned Taker or Kane yet.

The actual wrestlers in 2017 are so much better than the 1998 roster (I'm talking just 98) but you didn't have to put on great (even good) matches then to be over with the crowd. The character development surpassed the in ring product. These days, the fans just don't react the way they once did.
It's interesting & sad at the same time.
