I cracked open a bottle of Johnnie Walker. I'm drinking that to ring in the new year instead of my usual truck load of beer.

Hitting the bar in a few. We went out for a Hawks game at this particular bar last Thursday. I guess they have a $35 all you drink thing tonight. So there’s that.

Had a good time at my friend's house. Responsible deal with kids involved at midnight, etc. Took an Uber home from about two miles away.
You'd have to know my home setup, but I came home to someone ramming a car into another car, then a house, across the park from my house. Way too far away to identify anything, but enough to know shit was going down. Literally walked out of an Uber to hear a violent crash, another crash, and people running, one yelling "mommy."
I live in a good neighborhood. But this is the second type of experience in the last nine months. I had to be a witness for nothing when some white knob almost drove his car into my house. Getting tired. Maybe I should be a good ninety-year-old and retire somewhere.
