So, you will probably cringe at this but I kinda dig Pop. I love the techno electonica feel to these songs. I'm completely content with the first 7 tracks. Highlights for me are Discotheque, Mofo and Gone. I can live without Miami and Playboy Mansion. I like Please and Wake Up Dead Man. Dead Man is a really cool song when you think what its about. I like the anger in Bono's voice on this one.
So this album is definitely better than October for me (I'm pretty confident its my least favorite studio album). Its so hard to rank U2 albums but I am pretty sure I like this album far more than most people out there.

Additional thought, Pop is just one of those albums I enjoy having on in the background when I am working. There isn't a ton of sing-a-long's and when I need to get cranking on a work project that makes it easier for me to focus.

Yeah I'm in the camp of thinking Pop is garbage, however I never have it on in the background, so when you mentioned that, I might give it a try. Might change my mind slightly.

Does Discotheque, Mofo and Gone do anything for you?

Out of those 3, I like Gone the most. I just didn't like that sound for U2. All for them trying something new, but, for lack of a better word, wasn't the fan of the pop sound.
I know it's not on the album but you mentioned it before, I really liked Hold Me Thrill Me. One of the only good things to come out of Batman Forever haha

Can’t sleep.. Made it to HTDAAB...at least they both agree about quatorze in Vertigo. I never got the issue. Plus the songs name is Veritgo! You can be a little off when you have vertigo...and I think that was the point of the lyrics upfront.

All Because of You.... I don’t think Scott get the point. It’s a nod to punk rock and Ramones type sound...

Yeah I thought it was hilarious when Adam realizes Scott really dislikes HTDAAB, which is one of Adam's favorite albums of theirs.
It's like Adam was a little heartbroken haha

Scott Aukerman has struck me as being a part of a U2 fan base I least like: “if it didn’t happen in the 80’s, it sucked.” He also doesn’t seem to understand Bono lyrically at all. Yes there are some songs with terrible lyrics but many times when he criticizes he doesn’t even get the metaphor. He should be a Bon Jovi fan. It’s much easier to understand (side note, I love Bon Jovi).

I'm happy, Scott & Scott are back with a new podcast R U TALKIN’ R.E.M. RE: ME?
I'm not even that big of an R.E.M. fan, but like that they're actually doing this. It was an idea tossed around on a few of the U2 eps. Should be pretty funny.

Scott Auckerman doesn’t know what a chorus is.

Really good songs of innocence review . They did their homework on this one and actually gave each song sometime.
I know I’m not really commenting on the other chatter in the show but they do crack me up.

I listened to volcano for the first time in awhile and I had no clue American Soul was sitting right there in the song.

How was Bonobos, Thedge, Adam Clay-2000lbs and Larry Mullens Sr's son?

New ep of U Talkin U2 To Me? is really funny that was posted today. Next ep will be Scott & Scott talking with U2 again, so heads up Woodridge.

Heads up Woodridge, the Interview with Bonobos, Thedge & the Scott's are up!
Before they get to it they talk about Scott & Adam being invited to Tulsa the night before the tour started for the band to put on the entire stadium show as a run through & the only fans in the building would've just been them.
Week before they were going to go, Adam couldn't go due to him shooting a guest role on a TV show for one day & couldn't get out of it. He didn't say which show, but I'm interested which one.
Scott just decided not to go & be the only one there watching U2 basically perform their entire show just for him. What a mistake! That would've been unreal!

Just finished it. This is a great ep. Had they not already gotten to interview them prior to this one, this would be a fanboys dream.
And if you listen to the R.E.M. podcast, spoiler alert, Bono damn near introduced Scott & Scott to Michael Stipe.
I love this ridiculous podcast so much.

Adam & Scott have a new podcast called Youey Talkin Huey 2ey Me? and it's all about Huey Lewis & The News.
First ep is 2 hours and has special guests Huey Lewis & Jimmy Kimmel. An hour and half of it is talking with Huey and Jimmy. It's actually pretty great.
Putting this in here since it started from U Talkin U2 To Me? then transitioned to R U Talkin R.E.M. re: Me? and now this one.
