Help me out here Random. I will be making several trips here over the next 6 months and the first one early May. Looks like I can fly into MLI and not ORD and drive 2 hours so that is a bonus. What are some non-sketchy areas for lodging, preferably on the Moline/East Moline side of towns? Also any can't miss breweries/pubs/restaurants in the area?

Woodridge might be able to help with this as well. For hotels, there's a shit ton by the airport that are all pretty much the same. I obviously haven't stayed at many in this area, but I'd say if you're looking for a hotel, Moline would be better. East Moline there's just fewer options.
As for breweries, there's Bent River Brewing Company in Moline, which, they have 2 locations, so either or (one has BierStube right next door, which is another bar that serves good food). If you want bar food Barrel House is good, Steel Plow Burger Company is good (albeit a little too pricey for me for just being bar food). Fancy restaurant, I'd say Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. Pizza I'd go Frank's (or Fields of Pizza) for sausage pizza or Happy Joes for their taco pizza

Good stuff - thanks Random! I will probably pick a name brand hotel by airport for this first trip and see if I have time to explore. It is going to be a quick trip this time but future trips could be several days with travel to Des Moines and back as well.
As far as the Philly Travel Lodge - when you get invited to a 3 way dance with Francine and Beulah there, well, you show up!
