Lawler's story seems to be the most believable and least sensationalized out of everything I've read on this. I'd love to know though, if the original theory about Vince cutting the feed is untrue, who came up with the story and why? I think that Hugo guy did all the early reporting.

Oh yeah, Hugo Savinovich. He said he has sources in Saudi Arabia. I wonder who they'd be.

Of course WWE aren't granting his release and will keep him on for another 3 years.
All this for Hunico.
Fucking Hunico.

I think that article likely puts everything to rest. Shame on Meltzer, Savinovich, VICE, and every other outlet that ran with unfounded speculation. Furthermore, shame on me for believing it. I'm no better. And shame on that commenter under the article who claimed that Tony Khan and AEW are behind the false information. Wrestling is a strange, stupid business and many of its fans are stupid as well (myself fully included).

The thing that got me the most during the whole thing were the cryptic and in some cases not so cryptic tweets that the wrestlers themselves were posting.

Something happened. This isn't me defending Meltzer or any other writer, but something happened. You aren't just going to have wrestlers tweet their displeasures, even some of their wives tweeting displeasures just to fuck with the sheets.
We might never know, but something happened.

I don't think it was to fuck with sheets. It sounds like it was a lot of misinformation causing the families to be worried. Then the boys get themselves going and it blows up.

Welp, Punk is back. Might just watch this show from now on instead of 5 hours of RAW & SD. It's gonna be weird hearing him talk about how cool WWE storylines are though, when they clearly aren't.

Guess this means CM stands for Company Man?
They fired him on his wedding day & had him in court for how friggin long?
All roads lead back to the E. No matter who you are.

I love the SEETHING over this I'll include myself on this one. Usually I spend too much time looking at, or defending, the business side of things. This was the one big surprise left for now in wrestling. How about we work on popping the viewership for the two hour show on Friday? Instead it's on this unnecessary bullshit in the never ending need for content. Not good content. Just content. There will probably be a surprise partner at Survivor Series and it will be Mojo Rawley. Over the last couple months, personally it was clear going back to WWE made the most sense. You know what makes a wedding day insult go away? Life changing money. Plus, AEW doesn't need a direction changer right now. They have a direction. Not sure how long that relationship would have stayed solid. All of the Fox employee, WWE employee bullshit can go away too. Unless he can really say whatever he wants, this is a desperation heave that wasted a story that could have changed the actual programming. *This message will explode when it leads to a compelling Mania main event involving Punk*

His one statement on the show was stupid. What does changing the culture have to do with answers? It's like Nash calling "play" an adjective.
Did someone script that for him?

Best guess was he tried to put a spin on the Piper quote and I wouldn't say whiffed but fouled it off.
I'm just grateful he didn't say Universe. Punk talking WWE lingo out the gate would've been so disappointing.
