There are people who feel it does, but I disagree with that. I've made that clear and I stand by it. Not sure where that question comes from. My issue is in Jaxson's unwillingness to have an honest conversation about things. See, I can come to the conversation and fully acknowledge the shortcomings of some black people in America. I can acknowledge that there are things that some black people do that completely impede their own progress, and black on black crime is one. Absentee fatherhood is another one (which correlates with black on black crime). There are several. But if I'm willing to come to the table with those admissions, I need to be able to have a conversation with someone willing to admit their shortcomings as well. When Jaxson makes the assertion that, "You people just don't realize how good you have it", that doesn't sit well with me. That's not an honest conversation. That's not a willingness to admit that maybe, just maybe, systemic racism is really a thing. Maybe, just maybe, some police officers really abuse their power. In couple's therapy, nothing can be resolved when either member of the conversation believes they're perfect. I think Jaxson Ryker thinks America is perfect. It isn't. |

I didn't watch Raw but I can't believe how many people on the Twittah are going crazy over whatever WWE did or didn't do last night in regard to Brodie. I'm sure it was fine.
It's more AEW's place at the moment to hold a full tribute show. I'm sure WWE recognized that.

That's a valid point, and one that I personally agree with. Jaxson and people like him should state their terms though. If a person supports the sentiment but not the organization, cool. But if a person thinks black folks should just shut up and stop complaining, I think there's opportunity for a deeper level of understanding and empathy. For the record, I don't support the organization. |
