Outstanding promo by Seth on Owens.
They need to do more face-face promos not in front of a live audience; prevents the audience from hijacking one with "What?" and other chants.

Only thing I watched was Crews vs Black because it was being talked about. 28 minute match. And it was really good.
I just wish it had meant something. Crews was brought over to RAW "due to expiring draft picks" wait, WHAT?? That makes zero sense. The only downfall for Crews is he's a terrible promo. Aside from that, he's one of the best athletes on their roster who never gets a shot.
I want them to do something with Crews but I think him bouncing back & forth aimlessly between brands is what's going to continue to happen.

I'm really starting to like the lack of a crowd. I'm watching "Invasion" Raw shows right now. Holy hell does the crowd matter. The art could go on with studio shows like back in the day. Seriously. But crowd reaction tells you what's over. Nothing right now is really over. Cody is the closest thing. For the "hardcore" fan, we've needed new fucking chants, or no chants, for a while. |

Agreed, and not to defend Cornette, but I don't believe Cornette's line was even close to the stuff you've outlined from Lawler. Cornette's joke at least had a premise. It was just poorly executed. Lawler's statements have no purpose other than to use ethnicity as comedy fodder. |

Bobby Heenan would never survive in this culture. Bobby Heenan had good material though. He had wit and impeccable timing. It's not entirely about whether a joke is offensive or not. Offensive jokes can be funny. Dave Chappelle is a great example of that. Jerry Lawler's jokes are offensive AND they're pointless and unfunny. |

Yeah that's what I meant about Corny. I can't stand him, but the line he got canned for was 1 line, King is dropping multiple ones.
And Brain wouldn't have survived this, agree completely. Also Ventura would've just sat silently during Tito Santana matches.

Ramen originated in China, which is even dumber on Lawler's part, considering that Tozawa is Japanese. Reminds me of Royal Rumble 2000 when Taka Michinoku got eliminated and broke his jaw and Lawler kept asking for a replay of "that Chinese guy hitting the floor." I've never liked Lawler or found him amusing. Not then, not now, not ever. |

Bobby Heenan would never survive in this culture. Bobby would have been fine. He could adapt and knew how to call a match. He also knew how to get people over. For example when we was making insensitive remarks about Tito Santana (cue ball one comes to mind) it was done in a way that people hated Bobby for saying it and got Tito over because of him saying things like that. With Lawler it is just malicious using a stereotype without advancing a match or a performer. |

One of the better RAW episodes in a while. Liked Charlotte's and Drew's promos, liked the slow build of Seth throughout the show, and the formation of Zelina's stable.
