And that doesn't even cover the stupid mask orders by some places.
Last month everyday people were told not to wear masks and that it was counterproductive.
Now they say yeah wear a mask. But not a medical mask. Just wear a surgical mask that doesn't do anything to stop a microscopic virus. It's just to make people feel better.
Stupidity all around.

The goal of the stay at home in March (other than a temper tantrum by idiot politicians) was to make sure that hospitals weren't overwhelmed and could handle the cases that came in. Mid April was the peak. The sturgeon general (yes that was on purpose) said 2 weeks ago that it was our 9/11 moment and it was going to be bad. Now that we've done that and kept our social distancing and flattened the curve, hospitals are not anywhere near capacity, and the peak has been pushed back to mid-May. If the goal was to hit the peak sooner, then why have a stay at home order at all? Get it over with and let's move on. This is a big point for me. Opening too early very realistically could make the original order mean nothing. If the State, or multiple states, have to close all over again it will be worse. I'm not saying you do, but I don't spend all day watching news on this stuff. I think it actually hurts the ability to process everything. But I'm knowledgeable enough to understand why this could and probably will be pushed. Not because we were lied to. But the game may have actually changed a bit. How we weren't more prepared is frustrating as hell. But who benefits from continuing to stay closed? Some are profiting from the market, etc. But overall, who's really winning by staying closed?

I've not yet worn a mask although I have my Home Ec project in my sweatshirt if needed. I did order a six-pack today, not that, of masks. We're going to be required. I'm less sold, who was also a Score caller back in the day, on masks. You could say it's because I was doing something that required a mask. But every time I did construction work and wore a mask I was sick soon after. Eventually I'd have to breathe and I felt what you're blocking was now trapped on your mouth and nose. Plus it seems 95% of what people are wearing scientifically isn't doing much.

My wife wears the N95 medical masks at work every day and it makes her feel sick too.
I haven't worn a mask going out. At the store this morning I noticed way more people with masks while shopping. It's just silly IMO as it doesn't do anything. It just makes people feel better.
Mandating people wear face coverings is insane to me. But insane seems to be the new normal.

I don't know who's winning. Government is winning by getting more and more power. Media is winning with wall to wall panic coverage. Big Pharma is winning with new diagnostics and vaccine development. But there has to be a clear message as to what the goals are. And when we meet those goals, the goal can't just change. If the goal is truly having no cases and deaths, then that means we're gonna be doing this for another year at least. That's not sustainable IMO. Hell 2 more months isn't sustainable to me, but there are MANY who seem to be happy with this situation so I don't know.

I think you've known me to rarely be a "go with the flow" type. Haha. That's why I wanted to have this exchange. Unless my read on this is very wrong, most in power don't want this to continue. There are potential lawsuits, but that's for another time. I get frustration. But I'm willing to bet we're better off by having a better platform to reopen in a couple weeks. Might not ever be able to prove I was wrong, but I'd admit it if I'm wrong. That's also why I think a far out date wasn't originally set for reopening, and it's changing as we go.

My wife and I have been wearing masks when going to the grocery store and it's 100% so we don't get dirty looks from people. I never thought there would come a day where a black couple would actually feel more comfortable wearing masks around white people. 2020 is weird...

That's absolutely his right. If he chooses to stay closed, that's fine.
I'm glad other businesses have the same right in Georgia.

The NFL Draft reminds me of when quarantine was kind of fun on the internet the first three days.
