I didn't know about the video Heyman had them shoot. That's fucked up.
The rest wasn't really anything new or groundbreaking, but it was nice to see Candido again on TV.

Magnum TA doc was good last night, pretty straightforward about how he was supposed to be the next major top guy and his accident put a stop to the momentum Crockett had building. A lot of what ifs had he become the star he was destined to be.
I never knew the hospital snuck Flair in after hours to visit him because of kayfabe. Flair gave Magnum the 10 pounds of gold at his hospital bed.
The Graham Family is next week and that should be a super dark topic

The Graham Family is next week and that should be a super dark topic I'm pretty sure Flair kept Magnum's girlfriend from meeting Magnum's wife at the hospital. At least in Flair's world. I thought it was interesting he planned to end at age 30 and do Nascar. Who knows if that would have happened, as others have said that too. I just remembered that post-show they used to do during Covid and that memory is somehow more depressing than Covid. Which brings me to the Graham episode. I may not watch.

The biggest what-if in my opinion is, imagine if Magnum had jumped to Vince around late-'88 or early-'89 when Tully, Arn, Windham, and Dusty all went. He was good friends with Dusty, so I'm sure he would have followed. Magnum TA in the WWF could have been phenomenal.

Arn & Tully miraculously dodged a bullet and got to be Arn & Tully. For some reason Barry Windham was The Widow Maker. Dusty made chicken salad out of chicken shit with the polka dots and Common Man gimmick. But you look at guys like Ron Garvin, who was pretty much “guy with towel” and of course we know what happened with Terry Taylor. I’d like to think Magnum would’ve been Magnum, but part of me believes since he wasn’t a Vince guy, he would’ve been like Mechanic Terry Magnum or some shit.

They might not have a reason to leave in late-'88 or early-'89.

If Magnum is the champion in '87 as Luger comes in, that's the program I'm building. Luger wins the title from Magnum at Bash '87 and Magnum regains it from Luger at the Clash of the Champions in March'88.
Magnum holds it throughout '88, and drops the title back to Flair at Starrcade.

I believed he was worried about a potential gimmick. And if not that, he also said he just wasn’t one of Vince’s guys. He said something along the lines of “I know this sounds stupid but he just didn’t smile the way Vince would have wanted him too.” The way I took that was he had everything to maybe be the guy to take the torch from Hogan but he wasn’t going to do all the gaga like Hogan, Warrior or Savage would do. Vince would screw it up.

I really don't think Vince would have picked Magnum over Warrior. There's a good possibility a healthy Magnum would have kept Dusty, Tully, and Arn in Crockett. Probably a better chance Flair jumps earlier. But as Kid has mentioned, Intercontinental Title matches with Rude, Dibiase, and Perfect would have been a thing.

Such an unbelievably sad story about the Grahams last night. I only knew Eddie, Mike and then Mike’s son committed suicide, but also two more suicides in their family. Just heartbreaking.
But it was sort of comforting (if that’s even the right word) to know that Mike’s daughter seems to be doing well in life and is helping people who might be in need of psychological support.
Matt Borne is next week. I’m interested in seeing how that one goes. Hacksaw is on it and I knew he & Doink had beef. It’s wild that Borne only played Doink from super late 92 until just before Survivor Series 93. You always think heel Doink went longer before Ray Apollo took over.

The B Brian Blair fight story was nuts. Borne trying to bite his nose off, so Blair bit his bottom lip off. Borne not stopping over the night and trying to pull out his eye. All because he thought Blair was looking at his girl.
I was disappointed there were zero Big Josh stories.
20 minutes in and he’s just getting to the Doink run.
Oh wow his Doink run was covered within 2 minutes and he’s already fired for drugs.
This has 36 minutes left still.

Wow, the story of how he died is very fishy. His girlfriend at the time story seems kinda off, even his ex wife & daughter think there was more to what happened
Very interesting and sad ending.

I’m watching the Adrian Adonis Dark Side. It’s an all star cast of interviews in this. Bret, Big Dave, Brunzell, Spivey, Gagne, Adrian’s family & William Arko (the one guy who survived the car accident).
The story of Spivey & Adrian fighting was pretty wild. Adrian trying to be super stiff with young guys and Spivey wasn’t having that shit the second night it happened and uppercut Adrian so hard backstage that his jaw shattered.
Very sad he was trying to get back in shape, losing 100 pounds when he showed up in Japan in 88.
Also the story of the wrestling bear clawing the owners fiancé to death in the shower is fucking insane. They said the dude who owned the bear kept working with it soon after. What the shit??

Bigelow episode was very sad, but didn’t cover much new stuff, though they did have his family interviewed. Good on the mother for signing over the royalty rights to his kids, so even in death, their father could support them.
Still is wild he was in the business 1 year, went to WWF as Hogan’s buddy, then just left a year later. They just said it was due to egos and guys thinking he didn’t deserve the spot.
Next week is Bash at the Beach 2000 with Russo, Jarrett & Bischoff. That will be the first episode I skip this season.

If I'm not mistaken, Bam Bam is only one of six wrestlers to appear on a WrestleMania and a Starrcade in the same calendar year (1988). Arn ('89), Luger ('95), Piper ('96), Bret ('97), and Jarrett ('99) also did it.
Mean Gene did it in '93 as an announcer.
I may be missing someone else.

I don’t know if it counts, but JYD was in the 88 Mania battle royal and dark match battle royal at Starrcade 88.
That’s a great trivia question to figure out though
