I just heard Michael Hayes wrestled Tony Norris (Greenest Ahmed Johnson) in Texas. I can't imagine what that was like. "Doot, I got an ideal Tony. Why don't we dun do the Abdullah/Zeus match from bout five years ago? Oh, and I'm doing blackface. Doot." I searched for this match, couldn't find it.
I did however, find Terry Gordy vs Moadib from GWF in 1994. I watched it (review coming soon!). In vintage Ahmed fashion, he almost murders himself on a somersault dive off the top.
I forgot all about Moadib and his green genie MC Hammer pants.
I did a somewhat intensive search myself before posting. Perhaps the tape exploded upon viewing?

Where's The Beef? Here Comes The Beef
Giant Baba & John Tenta vs Goro Tsurumi & Rusher Kimura May 1, 1987 The professional wrestling debut of John Tenta, which is pretty damn cool. He looks like a beefy Al Borland from Tool Time. Tenta & Tsurumi start with a nice arm drag & fireman’s carry by Tenta. Goro with a front face lock, but Tenta launches him clear across the ring. Baba & Kimura tag in, squaring off with Baba getting a slow double leg takedown. He grabs a headlock and tags Tenta, who gets a school boy for 2. Kimura starts throwing chops as he & his partner start to work over Tenta. Huge bodyslam by Tsurumi to the point where Tenta gets up first and just splashes Goro in the corner before hitting a beautiful belly to belly for 2. Over the shoulder back breaker applied, but Kimura breaks it up. They repeat the same exact spot before Baba stops the double team. Tsurumi up to the second, but gets caught in a bearhug, then back to the back breaker as the ref for some reason turns to Baba & Kimura on the floor then stops the match. I don’t know Japanese, so I don’t know what the fuck happened. I looked up the results and it says Countout, which makes no sense, since Tenta & Tsurumi were legal and in the middle of the ring. Kimura talks shit on Tenta & Baba post match and if you think I understood that, you’re nuts. Regardless, for his first wrestling match, Tenta crushed it.
John Tenta & Rick Davis vs Terry Rivera & Dave Scott August 25, 1987 16 year old Mauro Ranallo is on the call in this match from All Star Wrestling in Vancouver! Dave Scott piggy backs Tenta to start, but the big man throws him down & hits a back elbow. Tag to Davis, as he & Scott do a pretty bad looking series and it’s just repeated back elbows from Scott. Rivera in now, but Davis wipes him out quick with a suplex. Tenta in and they hit a double clothesline before Tenta hits another back elbow (the 4th back elbow in like 2 minutes) as he starts working the arm. Davis back in with a standing powerslam for 2, but Tenta back in for the 5th back elbow before locking in an over the shoulder back breaker for the submission. This was pretty bad, but seeing slim Tenta wrestling in Canada, with Mauro on commentary is pretty cool. I love how after the match, the lead commentator interviews Rick Davis and literally says “I don’t even want to talk about that match we just saw, I want to talk about the match before it.”
John Tenta & Giant Baba vs Tiger Jeet Singh & George Weingeroff October 17, 1987 Corner splash by Tenta to start, but Singh quickly turns the tide, tags his partner, but Tenta gets him into his corner as he & Baba double team Weingeroff. Just an awful looking hip toss by Baba, as Weingeroff did all the work as Baba gets backed to the heels corner and Singh chokes away. That’s literally all it is for the next few minutes before Baba gets a big boot on Singh and tags Tenta who hits a back elbow, then takes out Weingeroff with a nice belly to belly. Tenta hits a clothesline off the second rope and gets the 3. I’m not kidding, that was the match. They all brawl to the back and deep into the fans, who scatter like crazy. This was also terrible, but the pairing of Baba & Tenta was again, pretty cool to see.
The Road Warriors vs Jumbo Tsuruta & John Tenta October 21, 1987 Gorilla press on Jumbo immediately by Animal, who eats a boot & lariat to answer for 2, but Animal launches him to the floor, where Hawk takes control, launching Jumbo into the front row, then back into the ring. Leaping shoulder by Animal, who tags Hawk and here comes Tenta. They keep trying to lock up and fail before they both try shoulder tackles, but don’t move, so they trade dropkicks (Tenta got hops!) then Hawk bodyslams the big man. He tries for an axe off the second, but leaps into a bearhug. Tenta just powers him down for 1, but Hawk quickly no sells and we get a double clothesline spot, which again, Hawk fucking no sells. They both tag their partners as Tenta & Jumbo take over on Animal, but he counters a leg lock, tags Hawk, who applies a fucking atrocious looking leg lock of his own. Animal back in thankfully as Tenta hits what I guess is his patented back elbow, but misses an elbow drop and Animal hits a powerslam. Tag to Hawk as the LOD hit a Rocket Launcher splash off the top on Tenta for the 3 count. Hawk sucked majorly in this one, but Animal looked good. Post match, LOD quickly bailed and almost got lost on where backstage was, I think Hawk even threw something at a fan.
John Tenta & Great Kabuki vs Abdullah the Butcher & TNT November 28, 1987 TNT is Savio Vega as Abdullah & Kabuki start and within seconds, Abby is stabbing Kabuki in the head with the spike. They all brawl to the floor briefly before Abby headbutts an already busted Kabuki over & over. They start no selling shots before Tenta gets the tag and he’s gets a bearhug on Abby, which is a site to see. He hip tosses Abby down and I’m shocked Abby took a bump. I guess he tries for a belly to belly next, but they both just crumble. Tenta tries it again, hoists Abby up, but seriously looks like they’re slow dancing at times. Kabuki hits a chair shot on Abby repeatedly IN FRONT OF THE REF as the bearhug is still on, which is hilarious. And Abby is bleeding now and Tenta keeps him in this bearhug for THREE AND A HALF MINUTES!! Tenta finally whips Abby off the ropes and Abby collides with him that has Tenta doing a huge bump. Abby goes to the BOTTOM ROPE and does a splash as TNT takes out Kabuki for the 3 count. Savio Vega never tagged in. This ranks up there in one of the worst tag matches I’ve ever seen.
Big John Tenta & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka May 1, 1988 Snuka backdrops Yatsu to start and hits & chop to the throat off the second for 2. Tag to Brody, who hits a forearm off the apron & chucks Yatsu outside. Snuka launches him into the railing, but Tenta breaks it up and walks his partner away. Back inside, Brody tags back in Snuka, therefore not doing anything. Back suplex by Yatsu gets 2 on Snuka, tag to Tenta and they hit a choke lift/German suplex combo that was clunky, but sort of rad, for 2. Tenta picks apart Snuka before Brody gets a big boot from the apron allowing Snuka to hit a top rope splash for 2. Brody quickly in with a dropkick as he brawls with Yatsu outside. Perfect belly to belly on Snuka by Tenta gets 2, which Brody broke up with a leg. They hit a double dropkick on Tenta as Brody hits a leaping knee drop and gets the 3 count, despite never seeing him make the tag. Brody bolts to the back and that was it. Brody & Tenta barely even touched as Brody hit two moves on him and that was it. Very disappointing because I thought Tenta & Brody would be awesome.
Kenta Kobashi vs Abdullah the Butcher January 28, 1990 Kobashi hits a shoulder and dropkick that sends Abby to the floor. Back inside, Abby gets thrust chops, but Kobashi fires back with more dropkicks. Snapmare by Kobashi and Abby bumps! Back up, spin wheel kick by Kobashi (one hits, the other misses by a mile) as he hits a Thesz Press and Abby tips over like a Jenga tower for 2. Kobashi with a bodyslam, but fucks his back up. Standing splash for 2, back suplex hits for another Abby bump as Kobashi drops the leg for 2. Abby right up and hits a jawbreaker and big time elbow drop for the 3 count. Kobashi took 99% of this match, which is shocking. Abby of course won, but whatever, this pairing was interesting.
Andre the Giant, El Canek, Villano III vs Kokina, Buffalo Allen & Black Scorpio May 23, 1992 You read that right. Kokina is Yokozuna, Buffalo Allen is Bad News Brown and Black Scorpio is, you guessed it, 2 Cold Scorpio. Match starts with Andre dishing out headbutts to all his opponents & them bumping all around. Andre & Yoko together is a site to behold as Yoko tumbles outside after an Andre right hand. Once order is restored, Villano gets worked over in the early going before we go to break and come back to Canek & Kokina with the luchador dropping the big man with a dropkick, but Yoko pops right up. Scorpio & Andre in now (I can’t believe I just typed that) as Andre gets the arm wringer, but Scorpio front flips out, dropkicking Andre as he & Allen double team the Giant with Kokina running into him like a bulldozer. Ghetto Blaster by Allen sends Andre into the ropes, tied up. As this happens, Scorpio hits a 450 Splash on Villano for the 3 count and first fall (at least I think it was 3). Kokina hits a splash on Canek and pins him as well. I have no idea what’s happening, as the match is still going with Andre beating up Allen in the corner, but the match breaks down, Canek presses Villano onto Kokina and they dog pile on him with Andre sitting on all of them for the 3 count. Villano DDTs Allen and pins him too. The ref just raised the hands of Team Andre as I have no idea what the hell happened. We go to break and come back to THIS MATCH STILL GOING ON?!?! Andre literally has Bad News folded up like an accordion, SITTING ON HIM! We get some lucha from Scorpio & Villano as Canek jumps in to take over for Villano. Kokina & company work over Canek until Andre gets in and cleans house. He’s just punting away at Allen as Canek & Scorpio and Kokina & Villano are paired off. Referees see Kokina drop a headbutt flush to the dick of Villano and DQs him and THAT’S THE FINISH?? Yikes. I highly suggest watching this match strictly for the pairings, but this was wild. I can’t believe a year later, Yoko would’ve already main evented Mania, Andre would pass away, Scorpio is in WCW. Thankfully this wasn’t the notorious match where Andre accidentally & literally shit on Bad News sitting on him in the corner. That was a tag match with Bam Bam Bigelow and thankfully I can’t find that match, nor did I seek it out.
Andre the Giant, Giant Baba, Rusher Kimura vs Haruka Elgen, Masanobu Fuchi, Motoshi Okuma December 4, 1992 This was Andre’s final match as he’d unfortunately pass away a little over a month later. This is fan cam footage, so I unfortunately have no idea which guy is which on the opposing side. Andre has fun to start as it honestly looks like he’s slow dancing with Kimura, who started for his team. 11 minutes into the match, Andre tags in for the first time and his opponents bail. He’s moving around so gingerly that it’s pretty sad. He just chokes everyone before smushing all 3 of them into one corner. Baba & Kimura use him as a battering ram. Baba shoots one dude off and Andre (holding onto the top rope) hits a clothesline and sits on him for the 3 count. Crowd chants for Andre as they walk to the back. It was sad, but I’m happy the last sound of an Andre match was fans chanting his name.
Moadib (Ahmed Johnson) vs Terry Gordy September 2, 1994 Drop In mentioning Hayes vs Ahmed made me seek that match out, which I couldn’t find, but I found the next best thing. Gordy with early clubbing blows knock Ahmed loopy before he hits a big back body drop. Gordy fights for a suplex for what feels like minutes and gets a 2 count. Sleeper briefly by Gordy as they cut to commercial. Back and its Ahmed who is in control off a clothesline for 2. Chin lock rest hold leads to a leaping shoulder tackle as Ahmed goes up top, but tries a somersault or something, but misses and lands on his fucking head. Gordy puts the boots to him & hits some bad corner clotheslines as he slaps on the Asiatic Spike, but Ahmed swings at the ref to knock him down, allowing Skandor Akbar to come in and throw powder into Gordy’s eyes. Ahmed hits a bodyslam and shitty top rope splash, for what I assume was the 3, but the match fucking cuts before there’s a finish. Whatever, this was terrible shit.
John Hawk vs Ice Train September 23, 1995 If JBL was in WCW, you’d have to expect this would’ve happened on Worldwide like 12 times, right? Just a bunch of headlocks by JBL start before Train does a drop down, leap frog, clothesline to the floor. Back inside, JBL waffles him with a big boot, but Train responds with a Japanese arm drag & vertical suplex. Back body drop, gut wrench suplex hit, but JBL grabs the tights & dumps him outside. Diving shoulder tackle off the apron as JBL hits a bodyslam back inside and running senton to follow. Abdominal stretch applied, but Train fights out of it, only to miss a splash in the corner. JBL sets him up for a super back suplex and he actually hits it, despite looking terrible. Both men slowly up, JBL misses a flying tackle and just falls into the ropes as Train slams him down, but misses a splash again. JBL hits the ropes & levels Train with a lariat for the 3 count. I can’t fucking stand the guy, but you could tell JBL had potential in this match.

How many drugs were in Duke's system to not get hired by WCW in 1998?

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!
Roddy Piper vs Luke Williams Hair Match – Pacific Northwest Wrestling March 1, 1980 The battle of Roddies Rowdies! Playboy Buddy Rose cuts a promo with the Sheepherders (who have flowing locks) before this match begins. The security guard handcuffs Rose to the post to not interfere as we have a slugfest with Piper & Luke as Hot Rod bodyslams him and pops the crowd. Cheap shot thumb in the eye lets Luke take over as he hits a knee lift for 2. Axe handles by Luke as he’s just mauling Piper. Reverse whip by Piper, who hits a bodyslam, but he’s out of control & eats a Luke back elbow for 2. Luke goes up top, but misses a splash; Piper quickly covers him for 2 before unloading shots. Piper tries a flying cross body, but collides with the ref sending him outside. A chair shows up in the ring, Luke grabs it, but Piper dropkicks it right into Luke. He covers him, but no referee. He recovers enough to make the count while standing outside the ring and this one is over in like 4 minutes, but the crowd goes nuts. The babyfaces spill out from the back (including Stan Stasiak and Iceman King Parsons) and hold onto Luke, keeping him from bailing. They hold him down and Piper shaves the head of the future Bushwhacker Luke! This was pretty cool to watch. After all this, Butch Miller begs Piper for a Hair Match as well, he said he’ll split Piper from end to end, which, yikes!
Ricky Steamboat vs Atsushi Onita All Japan Pro Wrestling December 13, 1982 Check this pairing out! Before Steamboat became a major household name and before Onita became a maniac. Super quick sunset flip by Onita gets 2 as he picks the leg, but Steamboat escapes and works the arm. Onita with a head scissors, but Ricky handstands out, but Onita catches him right back in it for the next few minutes. Ricky gets the headlock, but Onita jumps right up and we reset. Headlock/front face locks by Steamboat, Onita gets out, does some leap frogs, then catches Ricky with an airplane spin into a Figure Four. Steamboat is flat out tapping, but this is 82, so I guess this wasn’t a thing then. He gets the ropes as Onita hits a jumping cross body for 2. They scramble and Steamboat gets a cross face. He goes back to the headlocks & face locks, but Onita gets in some shots and hits a running bulldog for the highest impact move of the match yet. Butterfly suplex hits for 2 as he slaps on a chin lock. Steamboat escapes and hits a Samoan Drop for 2 of his own. Bodyslam hits, but Onita gets the knees up for the splash & tries a suplex, but Steamboat reverses with one of his own. Onita is up first though & pops him with a forearm, misses a wild shot & Steamboat hits a cross body for 2. Onita shoots Ricky off the ropes & pops him flush with a superkick, then top rope dropkick to the floor! TOPE SUICIDA BY ONITA outside, but he goes flying over Steamboat! Ricky hits an atomic drop, jumps back in the ring and suplexes Onita back inside for a 2 count. Float over and roll up by Onita for 2 as we get a strike exchange with Onita crumbling. Signature Steamboat chops get 2, but Onita blocks a suplex with one of his own and a legdrop for 2. Onita gets 2 off a sunset flip, gets a backslide for another close 2 as Steamboat gets up, hits a chop right to the head (almost a back elbow) as the ref stops the match as we get a time limit draw. This was boring in spots with plenty of rest holds, but when it picked up, this was good business. I dug this pairing.
Greg Valentine vs Great Kabuki April 13, 1990 This is the first of a series of matches from the WWF/AJPW/NJPW Summit that happened at the Tokyo Dome. Valentine walks out in his Rhythm & Blues Elvis gear and it’s pretty hilarious. Shane McMahon is the referee for this one as well. Hammer with some chops & elbows to the noggin before a rest hold within the first minute. Kabuki gets up and we have this awkward face off before a weird slugfest ensues and Kabuki sends Hammer retreating. Butterfly suplex by Hammer gets 2, as does a stalling vertical suplex. Back to the chin lock, but Kabuki escapes, sends Hammer to the corner, but misses a dive & ties himself up in the Tree of Joey Lawrence. Hammer with a shuffle before Shane unties Kabuki, which is a fun little sentence. Hammer headbutts him in the lower bread basket, does the Elvis shake again, allowing Kabuki to get a school boy for 2. Kabuki hooks a Boston Crab, but Valentine gets the ropes and is up chopping. He hits an atomic drop on the leg, signals for the Figure Four, but dances way too much as Kabuki gets a small package for the 3 count. This was fucking terrible.
Jumbo Tsuruta & King Haku vs Mr. Perfect & Rick Martel April 13, 1990 Martel & Perfect with a double dropkick sending Haku to the floor early, then double clothesline on Jumbo. Nice start for the former AWA World Champs. Jumbo gets a boot up in the corner & high knee to Perfect as he tags Haku, who punts Perfect in the leg and he does a backflip off it. Fucking awesome shoulder breaker by Haku for 2 as he dropkicks Perfect flush for another near fall. Double clothesline as Jumbo sinks in an abdominal stretch. Hennig pulls the hair to escape as he hits his snapmare combo before Jumbo blocks a shot & slams him down, tagging Haku back in. Hard chops & superkick as Haku misses a shot and Martel gets the tag with bodyslams aplenty. They keep Haku isolated until Martel tries a hurricanrana, but Haku drops him face first onto the top turnbuckle. Tag to Hennig, who keeps Haku isolated and they keep it that way for the next few minutes. Martel tries a splash off the second, but Haku with the knees up and the hot tag to Tsuruta. Crowd fully behind him as he hits a back drop, bodyslam, elbow drop on both men before the match breaks down. Perfect & Martel collide out the corner as Haku hits a superkick on Perfect and Jumbo with a high knee and back drop driver on Martel for the 3 count. This match was quite a bit of fun. Haku & Jumbo celebrate to loud cheers and it was pretty cool to see.
Jimmy Snuka & Tito Santana vs Kenta Kobashi & Masanobu Fuchi April 13, 1990 What a random pairing this is? Shane O’Mac is the ref again (Shane reffing a Kobashi match, wow) as mat based action with Tito & Kobashi to start. This is actually some solid back & forth action with Tito getting the advantage early, but Kobashi fighting back with a springboard cross body, tagging in Fuchi, who lights up Chico with 10 punches while he was down. Big boots & more right hands as Fuchi hits a Ghetto Blaster and Kobashi hits a springboard dropkick for 2. Snuka jumps in finally, but eats a missile dropkick by Fuchi. Tito hits a suplex on Kobashi before Snuka sees his first official action. Kobashi hits a springboard cross body out the corner for 2, then goes up top for another high cross body for 2. Snuka does a drop down on Fuchi, but gets up too soon and Fuchi trips, hurting his knee. Snuka takes over with a bodyslam & chop, but misses a headbutt. Fuchi gets a back suplex for 2 as Shane stops Kobashi & Tito from scrapping. Tag to Tito who is a dropkick machine, hits a back drop and Flying Jalapeno on Fuchi, tags Snuka, who hits a Superfly Splash as Tito knocks out Kobashi with a forearm as well for the 3 count. The Tito & Kobashi stuff was solid and the finish was fun.
Randy Savage vs Genichiro Tenryu April 13, 1990 Quite a bit of stalling early by Savage as Sherri is screaming instructions as he attacks Tenryu, grounding him immediately. Tenryu reverses a whip & levels Savage with a lariat, backdropping Macho to the floor. Cross body off the apron to the floor as both men are down. Sherri with a cheap shot, allowing Savage to attack. Back inside, Savage misses a charge in the corner and Tenryu hits a jump kick right to the face. Sherri trips him, letting Savage hit the clothesline for 2. It’s just choking a bunch before he hits a double axe handle to the floor. He takes the ref as Sherri clobbers Tenryu with her heel, sending him over the railing into the crowd. Back inside, double axe handle by Savage for 2. Up top, Savage drops the elbow 1…2…NO! He landed right on Tenryu’s face as he goes right back up top, but Tenryu punches him in mid air, tries a powerbomb, which lights the crowd on fire, but Savage back drops out. He goes up top & hits a cross body 1…2…NO! When have you seen Savage do a high cross? He hurts his knee on the way down, allowing Tenryu to hit the Ghetto Blaster and Powerbomb for the 3 count as the crowd explodes! This was an absolute nothing match, but Tenryu was treated like a God at this point and could do no wrong. Sherri was left screaming as she tends to Savage as Tenryu just walks to the back.
Demolition vs Giant Baba & Andre the Giant April 13, 1990 Fresh off losing the tag titles at Mania 6 just a few weeks prior, this is quite the team as Baba levels Smash with a chop and the future Repo Man bumps like he’s Curt Hennig. He just hits a few more chops before Andre tags in with a headbutt. He goes to drop an elbow, but Smash moves and Andre tumbles like a building. Demolition make quick tags with sledge hammers as they actually isolate Andre the Giant before Andre just grabs a guzzle on Ax and does a gator roll tagging Baba, who takes over choking. Ax & Smash start double teaming and Baba is just staring at them, not really selling. He just grabs Smash, brings him to his corner and Andre tags back in. He no sells Smash’s punches and just chokes both Demolition members before Smash has Andre on the ropes with running attacks. Match breaks down and the two giants send Demolition colliding into each other, Baba hits a big boot on Smash and Andre hits an elbow drop for the 3 count! The sheer sight of Andre & Baba more than made up for the fact that they could barely move much. That said, Andre did more in this match than he did at Mania 6.
Hulk Hogan vs Stan Hansen April 13, 1990 “Special Dream Match” this was labeled as. Mat work by Hogan early, as he works a front face lock and half nelson for a pinning combo for 2. Slapfest ensues, as does an eye rake-off with Hansen just chucking Hulk to the floor where they brawl a bit. Hogan puts on the brakes & posts Hansen, getting in some shots before heading back in for a back suplex & 2. I assume Hansen started bleeding off the post shot, but you can really tell once Hogan applies an abdominal stretch. Hansen fights out, but they spill to the floor for a third time and Hansen tumbles into the crowd. Hogan slams him onto a table before throwing him into the post again. Back inside, Hulk makes a weak ass cover for 2. Corner clothesline by the Hulkster as he’s just kicking the shit out of Hansen. That is, until Hansen gets a boot up in the corner & clobbers Hogan with a shoulder tackle for 2. Hulk to the floor (fourth time) as Hansen gets revenge, launching him into the crowd and hitting a chair shot right to the head. Hansen throws the chair and almost wipes out Earl Hebner in the process. Hansen breaks the count and the brawl continues into the crowd. Hansen I think punched a fan like it was nothing as they finally head inside where Hansen gets 2. Jabs by Hansen as Hogan is bleeding now and goes outside for the fifth fucking time. Hansen starts whipping Hulk with his bull rope and throws him back inside. He tries for a Lariat, but Hogan hits a Pumping Bomber, tries his Leg Drop, but MISSES! Hansen tries a Lariat again, but Hogan hits a cross body 1…2…NO! Hogan with a big boot, Pumping Bomber 1…2…3!! Hansen kicked out a milli-second too late. The brawl was fun, the rolling to the floor was fucking repetitive, but overall, both guys bled & the wildness of this match was fun. Hogan actually had his working boots on. I think this was the last time we’d see Hogan for a while, as he was off to film Suburban Commando.
Bryan Danielson vs Hiroshi Tanahashi October 24, 2004 Never knew this match happened. Tana backs Bryan to the corner off a hammerlock & somersault dropkicks him before working the arm. Nice counter takedown by Bryan, as he wraps up the leg of Tana & traps him, but Tana rolls out for the reset. Just solid back & forth counter wrestling for the first 8-10 minutes of this thing before Bryan hits a Tope Suicida to the floor. Bryan tries a suplex back inside, but it’s Tana who hits the suplex sending Bryan crashing to the floor. 2 count back inside as Tana starts turning it on, running dropkick & single arm suplex with a bridge for 2. Single leg crab sunk in deep as Bryan gets the ropes, so Tana turns to a dragon sleeper, but Bryan quickly scrambles out. He gets a boot in the corner & leaping uppercut, then hits Tanahashi with what would become a signature, dragon screw. Crazy figure four combo with a bridge by Bryan, but Tana gets the ropes. Forearm battle ensues until Tana nails a flying forearm, standing elbow & leaping somersault senton. Tana goes up top, but Bryan cuts him off with a superplex, quickly goes up & hits a headbutt for 2. He tries for a back suplex, but Tana rolls through & sinks in the dragon sleeper. Bryan hits a knee right to the face to break it, but Tana hits a leaping enzugiri, running small package 1…2…Bryan reverses 1...2…NO! Both men quickly up and Bryan drops Tana with a running dropkick before looking for a super back suplex, but Tana spins in mid air landing on Bryan 1…2…Bryan rolls through 1…2…NO! Awesome uppercut exchange leads to an enzugiri by Tana, he tries a Dragon Suplex, but Danielson rolls through, Tana rolls through also and hits a Shining Wizard! He signals for the end and hits the Dragon Suplex 1…2…3! This match was fucking awesome and I can’t believe I didn’t know it existed until today.
Austin Creed & Kota Ibushi vs Gedo & KUSHIDA May 8, 2010 NJPW: Super J Tag Tournament Another name I didn’t know popped up in NJPW before he signed with WWE, as Xavier Woods & Gedo start it off with Gedo getting the upper hand off a scramble. Creed does a bunch of leap frogs & drop downs before hitting a cross body for 2, sending Gedo bailing outside. KUSHIDA & Ibushi in now as they quickly do a strike battle with Ibushi firing off a leaping kick before tagging right out. Creed in, but Gedo jumps in and attacks him from behind as the heels take over, isolating Creed for the next few minutes as we are about 8 minutes into this match and Ibushi has been in for 30 seconds. Creed finally hits a low dropkick & legdrop on Gedo before getting the hot tag to Kota, who runs wild. He hits the Golden Triangle wiping out Gedo outside, then punts him with a high kick back inside for 2. Standing shooting star hits, but the moonsault out the corner doesn’t as Gedo gets the knees up. Springboard chop by KUSHIDA as he hits a Sling Blade, standing moonsault for 2. He tries for a top rope moonsault, but lands on his feet and Ibushi pops him with a rewind kick. Creed tags in with some jabs and his Lost in the Woods somersault lariat for 2. Slugfest with Creed & KUSHIDA, Creed tries a school boy, but gets to his feet and powers KUSHIDA into a flapjack. Leaping DDT off the second by Creed gets 2 as Gedo breaks it up, only to be snap rana’d by Ibushi to the floor. Creed tries more jabs, but KUSHIDA cuts him off, gets a backslide and steals it. First half of this match was very slow & boring, but the second half was good stuff.

Rest In Peace Mr. Brodie Lee
Monsters Brawl Cage Match Brodie Lee vs Abyss October 29, 2005 Slugfest to start, but Brodie goes to the second and hits a few light punches, so Abyss levels him with a clothesline. He flapjacks Brodie head first into the cage and we’ve got color already. The Monster keeps punching & tossing Brodie face first into the cage before setting up a chair between the ropes in the corner. Brodie fights back, but runs into a big boot as Abyss tries an Earthquake splash, but Brodie holds a chair up to crotch him. Repeatedly throwing Abyss into the cage, hits a school boy for 2. He slams Abyss into the set up corner chair for 2 as Brodie is pouring blood (which is a lot, even for an indy show). Abyss gets up and breaks a plastic chair over Brodie’s head, throwing it out of the cage (Brodie said in a shoot that his brother in law caught the chair and this chair shot gave him a concussion). Abyss goes for a home run shot, but Brodie low blows him, grabs the chair to swing, but hits the ref! Abyss nails a choke slam, then pours some glass in the ring, but Brodie hits the choke slam on The Monster onto the glass! Brodie climbs to the top of the cage and hits a HEADBUTT OFF THE CAGE!! Brodie slowly crawls to the cage door, but Glenn Spectre shows up and slams the cage in his face. Abyss with the cover 1…2…NO! Abyss grabs the ref & launches him into the cage as Spectre jumps in the cage, but Brodie fights back, charging right into a Black Hole Slam. Another ref jumps in the cage and counts the 3. This was pretty good stuff for an indy cage match. Post match, I liked that the heels went to work on Brodie and Chris Kanyon made the save and had a slugfest with Abyss.
Brodie Lee vs Equinox CHIKARA Aniversario? May 26, 2007 Equinox springs into the ring right into a back suplex from Brodie for 2. Out to the floor, Brodie chops the shit out of him and drops a knee back inside for 2. Big boot to the face, he tries a powerbomb, but Equinox turns it into an arm drag. He tries another one, but Brodie hits a slingshot Falcon Arrow for a 2. Pump handle fall away slam for another 2. He launches Equinox clear across the ring, tries a pop up powerbomb, but Equinox hits a head scissors. TKO by Brodie, then a running Liger Bomb for the 3. This was mostly a squash match as Brodie just walked to the back, all in a days work.
Brodie Lee vs Passion Hasegawa CHIKARA Battle of Who Could Care Less: November 16, 2007 Game of cat & mouse early from a dancing Hasegawa as Brodie clobbers him with a big boot. Brutal chop & clubbing blow for 2 as Brodie is already pissed at the ref. Vertical suplex and an overhead choke toss for 2 as he hits a pump handle fall away slam. Stiff chops out on the floor as Brodie stalks him back into the ring. He winds up the arm, charges & Hasegawa gets a drop toe hold into the ropes and a 619. Up top, diving hurricanrana for 1 as Brodie starts no selling the punches before demolishing him with a lariat. Corner big boot and a running Liger Bomb for the 3 count. Brodie destroyed this dude.
Brodie Lee & Jimmy Jacobs vs Tyler Black & Necro Butcher – Falls Count Anywhere ROH Steel City Clash: March 20, 2009 The Age of the Fall vs former members of the group as this is a wild brawl to start as Jacobs & Butcher and Brodie & Black are paired off at different areas of the arena. The crowd is scattering as they spill together as Jacobs slams Black down throat first on a chair, locks in a guillotine, but Necro just punches him in the face, tries a powerbomb through the merch table, but he wiggles free with a chair shot. Side slam on the chair by Black on Jacobs as Necro throws chair after chair onto Brodie and jabs him in the groin with a Section B sign. INSIDE CRADLE BY NECRO FOR 2!! You can clearly hear a fan call Jimmy Jacobs a very offensive word, telling him to slit his wrists & an emo cocksucker (you stay classy Pennsylvania). Brodie cracks Necro with the ring bell as Black sets up 4 chairs, but Brodie boots him off the apron crashing through them all. Hilariously Jacobs tries and fails like 4 times to get a simple chair over the top, but can’t, so he gets mocked. They work over Necro & Black as Jacobs hits a nice top rope senton, goes for a spear off the apron, but hits his partner by accident as Tyler hits a lariat off the guard rail. Necro with a legdrop off the apron through the table on Brodie as Black hits a Peroxysm on Jacobs inside for 2. Lionsault misses as Jacobs gets his knees up, hits the Contra Code for 2. Brodie & Necro brawl up the ramp and Brodie drives him down with a Black Hole Slam. Brodie literally shoves a woman out of her seat to grab a chair as back inside Black hits an F5, goes for a Phoenix Splash, but Brodie hits him with a chair in the head, knocking him out cold. Jacobs slaps on the End Time and the ref stops it.
Brodie Lee vs Michael Elgin C4 Wrestling June 18, 2010 They trade shoulder blocks until Elgin hits a corner big boot & diving shoulder off the second. Brodie slowly rises & steamrolls Elgin with a shoulder of his own. Elgin pie faces him, so they trade hard rights & chops. They tumble to the floor & trade forearms and uppercuts as Elgin bails back inside & dropkicks Brodie outside before nailing a somersault plancha. Back inside, Elgin with a low dropkick & pump kick for 2, charges, but Brodie hits an overhead belly to belly. Hard uppercuts & chops before he hits a quick hurricanrana & suplex for 2. Elgin turns the tables & hits a hard clothesline and running ass bump in the corner. He powers Brodie up with a powerbomb for 2. Spinning back fist by Elgin, big boot by Brodie for 2 and he can’t believe it. Elgin ducks a clothesline and hits a snap German, but Brodie rolls through & levels him with a big boot and Black Hole Slam for the 1…2…3! Really fun match.
Brodie Lee vs Jon Moxley (c) – CZW World Title CZW From Small Beginnings Come Great Things: January 7, 2011 Wild brawl outside to start before Mox hits a Tope and levels Brodie with a chair. He shakes it off like nothing and destroys Mox with a chop against the post. He tries once too many and chops the post after Mox moves. Brodie slides into the ring & clotheslines Mox off the apron through a table. Hip toss through the rest of the broken table as they brawl up the entrance before Brodie chucks Mox into the railing. Mox tosses a chair to Brodie & dropkicks it in his face before hitting a DDT onto it. Brodie gets a boot up in the corner & smacks Mox in the head with the chair, absorbs multiple Mox clotheslines & just slaps the shit out of him. Brodie hits a suplex on the concrete floor & you can hear a loud THUD. Back inside, Mox fights out of a rear naked choke & gets a Figure Four, but Brodie gets the ropes. Mox avoids a corner big boot & hits a superplex as both men slowly get up at the same time & Brodie hits the big boot 1…2…NO! Chokeslam connects as he calls for a pane of glass from the back and sets it up in the corner. He takes too long and Mox hits the Cutter for 2. Mox gets a sleeper on, but Brodie dives back & sends Mox THROUGH THE GLASS!! Black Hole Slam connects 1…2…NO!! Brodie calls for security to send a table in and they oblige, sets it up and puts THUMBTACKS ON IT as he takes Mox up to the top, with his back torn to shit. Mox cuts him off and POWERBOMBS BRODIE THROUGH THE TABLE 1…2…3!! Brodie said he hated this match, but I thought it was a fun & wild brawl.
Brodie Lee vs Hieracon (Jonathan Gresham) CHIKARA Aniversario & His Amazing Friends: May 21, 2011 Young Gresham was masked at the time as a member of The Osirian Portal and gets a fast start until Brodie absolutely demolishes him, inside out, with a lariat for 2. Stalling vertical suplex gets another 2 as Brodie is staring down Eddie Kingston, who is on commentary. He tosses Gresham to the floor, as the smaller man fights back, only for Brodie to get pissed at fans chanting “take a shower”, allowing Gresham to fight back. Brodie keeps going for the eyes, chopping through Gresh. Shoulder tackle turns Gresh inside out again as he hits the pump handle fall away and loads the gun, points at Kingston, but misses the big boot in the corner. Gresh uses his speed, but Brodie pops him with a right, catches Gresh’s moonsault, but Gresh spins it into a DDT for 2! Combo strikes by Gresh, who charges, but gets mowed down with a big boot and running Liger Bomb for the 3.
Brodie Lee vs Johnny Gargano PWO TV 2011 Brodie uses his power to rag doll Gargano early, but Johnny uses his speed momentarily before Brodie drops him with a back suplex. Hard elbow in the corner as Brodie slaps his belly like Kamala before dropping Johnny with a pump handle fall away slam for 2. Johnny mounts a comeback, but Brodie levels him with a dropkick for 2. Nice vertical suplex for another near fall. He tries a powerbomb, but Gargano wiggles free. Brodie murders him with a chop and hits the Black Hole Slam for 2. Gargano slips out a powerbomb again, avoids the boot in the corner sending Brodie outside where Gargano hits a Tope on Brodie, Tope on Marion Fontaine, another Tope on Brodie, back inside, multiple superkicks drop Brodie. Then a masked man runs in the ring to attack Gargano to cause the DQ. We get a brawl with Gargano, Matt Cross, Josh Prohibition & the masked man as Brodie lays out Aaron Draven, who ran into the ring too. That leads us to the next match.
Brodie Lee Marion Fontaine & vs Kevin Nash & Aaron Draven PWO Wrestlelution 4: August 7, 2011 Brodie shit talks Nash on the apron as Fontaine & Draven kick things off. Brodie got in for a moment, but it’s Nash who gets the first major offense in on Fontaine doing his corner knees & forearms before doing the squisher. Brodie tags in and drops Nash with a right as I’m shocked that Nash is taking bumps off punches. The much smaller Fontaine just does chokes & clubbing blows before Brodie tags in and throws shots, which Nash bumps again. That’s all that happens before Fontaine tags back in and trash talks too much as Nash hits a big boot & gets the hot tag to Draven who takes the fight to both heels. Sloppy tilt a whirl DDT on Brodie as Nash gets in and choke slams him! He sets up Fontaine in the corner as Draven hits a Flux Capacitor 1…2…Brodie pulls the ref out and Draven wipes him out with a dive. Nash hits a Jackknife on Fontaine (who takes a funny bump) as Draven hits a splash OFF NASH’S SHOULDERS for the 3 count. Nash put in a lot more effort than you’d assume at an indy show in 2011. Disappointed we didn’t get much Nash/Brodie, but Brodie was legit injured before this and didn’t want to miss this match. He said the day prior, he drank beers & smoked “cigarettes” with Nash, who he met that day. He said after the match, backstage, the booker told Nash “hey, there’s a waitress here to see you” and Nash said “blonde? Tell Sally I’ll be right there.” A week or two later, Nash would be at Summerslam, powerbombing CM Punk.
Brodie Lee vs Shingo Takagi Dragon Gate of Victory: October 13, 2011 Holy shit this is a hell of a pairing! Brodie wins a test of strength immediately & just absorbs some shoulders from Shingo, who ducks a Brodie clothesline, but Brodie hits a hurricanrana sending Shingo to the floor where he hits a Tope Suicida! Brodie launches a chair and then sents up a table inside. He slams Shingo face first into the table, then sets it up and despite the tables best efforts, Brodie powerbombed him through the table!! He chucks Shingo into chairs in the crowd and waits for a count out. Shingo beats the count and Brodie keeps up the beat down. Shingo gets in 3 jabs, charges, but Brodie hits a dropkick. Brodie rolls through a judo throw, no sells a clothesline and we get a chop battle. Saito suplex by Shingo, they trade suplex attempts & Shingo hits one for the double down. Snap dragon by Brodie, who follows up with a discus lariat 1…2…NO! Corner splash, but Shingo fires out, running right into a Black Hole Slam 1…2…KICK OUT! Shingo hurricanranas through a powerbomb attempt, blocks a big boot and fireman’s carries Brodie up to the second rope with a rolling DVD 1…2…NO!! BRODIE NO SELLS A PUMPING BOMBER, NO SELLS ANOTHER ONE, hits a big boot, sends Shingo off and he clobbers Brodie with a Pumping Bomber, then hits Made in Japan for the 1…2…3!! This was a fucking battle!
Brodie Lee vs PAC vs Rich Swann vs Sami Callihan 2CW January 21, 2012 Bell sounds, Sami charges & gets destroyed by a Brodie slap. He lays out both PAC & Swann before PAC hits a snap rana, which Brodie does one in return! Powerslam on Swann, but he charges & Swann low bridges him. Sami attacks from behind, they have a nice series and Swann hits a dropkick for 2. Swann does a little dance, but gets powerbombed in mid air as Sami slaps on a heel hook. Swann gets the ropes and does a tilt a whirl head scissors dropping Sami right on his head. PAC in and does his flips out the corner & springboard dropkick sending Sami bailing and the crowd on fire. He dropkicks Brodie for good measure as he & Swann do double dives. PAC & Sami head back inside before Brodie drags PAC outside, but gets low dropkicked for his troubles. Handspring cutter by Swann on Sami, standing Shooting Star by PAC as he goes for the cover, but Swann pulls him off. Brodie jumps in, chokeslams both guys, tries one on Sami, but he rolls through for a 2 count. Boot to the face in the corner by Sami on Brodie, goes for it again, but Swann superkicks him out of the ring. Brodie pops up, Black Hole Slam, but PAC jumps in and hits a snap German on the big man. PAC springs to the top, but Brodie hits a big boot out of mid air! Boot to Swann, boot to PAC, Sami ducks the boot, school boy 1…2…3! What a fun sprint!
Brodie Lee vs Eddie Kingston (c) – Grand Title Match CHIKARA It’s How You Play the Game: March 25, 2012 Brodie lays out the ring announcer with a big boot before the bell as he signed his WWE contract earlier that month. This was his CHIKARA farewell. Brawl around ringside to start as Kingston hits a half butterfly suplex with a bridge for 2. Brodie throws Bryce Remsberg into Eddie and hits a boot as they spill outside again. Brodie takes over as he does the John Cena You Can’t See Me to mock the crowd as he just pops Eddie with a right. Eddie floats over a suplex into a German for 2. Brodie regains control with strikes and is just picking Kingston apart slowly. Eddie gets up a few corner boots, Kawada Kick & diving bulldog off the second for 2. Tilt a whirl into a jaw breaker almost gets Eddie another near fall. He goes up top, but Brodie cuts him off, SUPER BUTTERFLY SUPLEX 1…2…NO! Black Hole Slam hits 1…2…KICK OUT! He goes for a powerbomb, but Eddie rolls through with a rana (falling right on his own head), then hits a running uppercut. He went for a KO shot, but Brodie hits a German for 2. Uranage by Kingston, but Brodie with the boot on the ropes as the ring is much smaller at this show in Canada. Holy shit, what happens next is a slap battle that would make Suzuki & Ishii proud as they are loud and vicious. It leads to a violent chop battle until Brodie hits a superkick & boot in the corner. He wants another superplex, but Kingston fights back into a sunset bomb 1…2…NO! Brodie pulls Bryce into him as Kingston hits a big boot and Brodie collides into the ref. Brodie with a low blow, powerbomb, Bryce slowly counts the 1…2…KICK OUT! Brodie goes for the powerbomb, but Kingston with a back drop driver, spinning back fist, lariat, sliding uppercut to the neck 1…2…3!! Hard hitting as shit, this was a great match. Kingston bows to Brodie as the fans thank him and send him off to FCW.

Alright, first post in here of the new year, back to basics, 20 (mostly) squash matches from Superstars 1991!
Orient Express vs The Mulkey Brothers January 5, 1991 Kato punts Mulkey 1 in the midsection & hits a side suplex before tagging in Tanaka, who hits a leapfrog on his partner & lands on Mulkey throat first in the ropes. He chucks him over to his partner & here comes Mulkey 2, who is a house of fire for 10 seconds before Tanaka hits a flying forearm to end that quick. Tag to Kato as he hits a dropkick, then front face suplex before tagging Tanaka. Superkick/German Suplex combo gets the 3 as Mr. Fuji’s tandem destroys one of the most famous job teams in the NWA.
The Mountie vs Reno Riggins January 26, 1991 This was Jacques debut on Superstars as the Mountie (he’d been on Challenge already and also the Royal Rumble PPV against Koko) as he slaps Reno, who is rocking a singlet in this one, a rarity for Riggins. Boot to the gut & 3 times Mountie slams his head into the corner buckle before going to the second & hits a stomp onto the face. Pump handle as Mountie just awkwardly walks Reno around the ring (creepily it looks like doggy style) before throwing him to the floor for no reason, as he just throws him back inside, hits a double hand choke slam & gets the 3 count, which is weird, because he’s literally choking his opponent. Post match he cuffs Reno and trash talks him before zapping him with the shock stick.
Rick Martel vs Louie Spicolli February 16, 1991 Martel just batters Louie in the corner & hits a hip toss, then slams him to the mat as he’s taunting Jake Roberts & posing. Punch to the gut & gut wrench suplex as The Model hits a back breaker before locking in the Boston Crab for the easy win. Post match, Martel grabs Arrogance & goes to spray before masked Brutus Beefcake makes the save in his failed gimmick as he attacks Martel and leaves just as quick.
Tag Team Battle Royal The Nasty Boys, Legion of Doom, Power & Glory, The Rockers, The Bushwhackers, Orient Express & Demolition February 16, 1991 Winning team gets the Harts at Wrestlemania for the titles as its pretty cool seeing this in 1991. Double dropkick sends Smash over the top by The Rockers as Crush makes sure to get in some shots before being told to leave about a minute or so in. Tanaka hits a superkick on Luke as Sato backdrops him out, eliminating the Whackers. Marty holds Knobbs, but Shawn misses his dropkick, hits his partner and eliminates him as the Rockers are out. Roddy Piper can’t pronounce Knobbs & Sags, which is hilarious and sad. Hawk & Animal dump the Orient Express at the same time as Animal & Roma spill to the floor. Back inside P&G double team Animal and Nastys on Hawk. Herc chucks Roma off the top for a cross body, but Animal catches him & drops Romeo out. Down to 2 as Hawk goes to the top for the Doomsday Device, but Roma crotches him on the top & pulls him to the floor, making the Nasty Boys the winners. This would lead to the Nastys vs Harts and then P&G getting squashed by LOD at Mania.
Sgt. Slaughter vs Dusty Wolfe February 23, 1991 Poor Dusty gets absolutely demolished by the current WWF Champion as Sarge hits a bodyslam & punts Wolfe repeatedly. He drives his face into the pointy heel boot & hits a gut buster as he nods to Adnan he’s ending it. Front face suplex and repeated elbows are I guess the set up for the Camel Clutch & that’s all she wrote. Sarge does the tamest beatdown with a chair post match as doctors rush to ringside & check on Wolfe, but SARGE ATTACKS THE DOCTOR!!
The Undertaker vs Tommy Angel February 23, 1991 Pre-Bearer saying “ohhhh yessss” as he’s very stoic as Taker starts with a friggin spinebuster! Angel tries fighting back, but eats a big boot. Vintage flying clothesline by Taker, who climbs to the top for some Old School, dropping the arm down & gives Angel his wings with a Tombstone for the 3. Paul Bearer gives Taker a bag of dirt and he drops some on his opponent as this was pre-body bag days.
Jim Duggan vs The Genius April 27, 1991 Inset promo from Col. Mustafa, which is just rambling as Duggan hits his whirlwind bodyslam and then the 3 point stance clothesline and wins in seconds. Poor Lanny.
The Dragon vs Ricky Rice May 11, 1991 Chops by the Dragon but Rice almost gets an upset off a crossbody/sunset flip. Dragon hits a really bad slingshot, but recovers with an arm drag. Vince already putting over the WBF as Dragon goes to the top & hits a chop before heading back up. Flying cross body for the 3 count. Macho Man then calls him Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, but Vince doesn’t. He did address Dragon beating Macho at Wrestlemania 3 though.
Big Bossman vs Dan Johnson May 11, 1991 Johnson gets 1 slap in, but falls like a mannequin after a Bossman uppercut. A headbutt & Bossman Slam does it for the 3 as it’s the post match that’s more noteworthy here. Bossman goes to cuff Johnson, but the Nasty Boys attack and cuff him to the ropes as The Mountie makes his way to the ring. Mountie zaps Bossman repeatedly with the cattle prod, who is selling it like a champ. This sets up Summerslam and the Jail House Match. Hart Family getting one over on the babyface, which leads to the face getting revenge for the next like 8 months.
Skinner vs Mario Mancini August 17, 1991 Clubbing blows & boots by Skinner, who chucks Mario outside & continues putting the boots to him. Back first into the railing as he tosses his opponent back inside, more boots before hitting the Gator Breaker for 3. This could very well have been Skinner’s debut, it seems early for him. I could be wrong, too lazy to look it up.
Sid Justice vs Kato September 21, 1991 In ring debut for Sid as Kato tries some chops, but Sid no sells & hits a big time splash in the corner as Kato bounces out right into the clutches of a huge 1 handed choke slam. Sid throws Kato outside & drops him throat first on the railing as we go back inside boot to the gut & Powerbomb for the 3 count. Crowd just pops like crazy for Sid even in 91 and it’s confusing & amazing.
Roddy Piper vs Pat Tanaka October 26, 1991 Tanaka is bumping after every punch as he does a 360 flip off a Piper clothesline, as Hot Rod nails a running bulldog & gets the 3. Again, Piper didn’t fuck around in squashes.
Sid vs Col. Mustafa November 2, 1991 Adnan distracts Sid as Mustafa attacks, but Sid no sells. He reverses an whip, boot to the gut & Powerbomb for the 3 count. Sid puts away Sheiky Baby quick as Adnan attacks post match & Sid neck cranks him before he drops him with a Powerbomb as well. Crowd lost their shit & I’m still confused as how he was this over.
Ric Flair vs Jim Neidhart November 9, 1991 Shoulder block by Anvil, but Flair eye pokes him, chopping away in the corner. Anvil answers with a back body drop & some clotheslines, only to miss a high knee in the corner. Flair posts the leg repeatedly & smells blood in the water, targets it from there on out. Anvil tries throwing shots, but Flair hits a cross body for 2, then chop blocks him. Figure Four is applied in the middle of the ring & Neidhart fades, Flair wins in under 3 minutes. Post match, Flair keeps up the attack on the leg, Figure Four again applied as refs have to stop Flair. Finally he makes his way to the back with the WCW Title as The Beverly Brothers, out for the next match, attack Neidhart on the aisle. This would put Anvil out of Survivor Series, but he’d be back soon after.
IRS vs Greg Valentine November 16, 1991 The Summerslam 91 rematch that no one wanted as IRS attacks with a knee to the back early, then drives Hammer into the corner buckle. He tries again & Valentine puts the boots up and Irwin takes 10 corner buckles & a double axe handle off the second. Elbow drop after elbow drop, then a headbutt below the belt. Clothesline connects, then another as Irwin bails. He suckers Valentine to the floor & attacks back inside. We get a rest hold, but Hammer fights back with chops & a hip toss. They do a terrible looking ref bump as IRS reverses an Irish whip & Valentine clonks heads with the ref (maybe 2 hairs of their heads touched?) and Irwin clocks Valentine with his briefcase 1…2…Big Bossman hits the ring & pulls Irwin out of the ring. He bails as Bossman & Hammer stand tall. What a garbage finish.
Bret Hart vs Big Bully Busick – WWF Intercontinental Title November 23, 1991 Bret gets a shoulder block, hip toss & dropkick to the corner as Bully reverses an Irish Whip & pops Bret in the face with a right hand. Abdominal stretch quickly applied as Harvey grabs the hand for added pressure. He takes the ref & Bully grabs the rope, until Bret hip tosses him over. Bully keeps throwing rights, then drops Bret with a lariat. He goes for another & Bret hits an atomic drop, side suplex, elbow off the second & Sharpshooter to retain. This sucked, Bully was not good.
Jake Roberts vs Bob Werner November 23, 1991 Knees to the gut & snap mare early by the Snake, who is still wearing his Coal Miner Glove as he clobbers Werner with a short arm clothesline & the DDT to win it. This isn’t about the match, it’s about the post match, as Jake gets on the mic and baits Randy Savage to get off commentary he berates Savage, saying he’s a shell of his former self, insulting Elizabeth, etc. Savage makes his way down the aisle and is held back by 1 official before Jake steps over the line & Savage hops up on the apron, spits at Jake, was going to get in the ring but THE REFEREE GRABS BOTH SAVAGE’S FEET allowing Jake to clothesline Savage to the floor, then tie him up in the ropes. I never remembered the ref doing that, what a dick move on his part! Jake gets Lucifer and history happens, the mouth of the snake opens & starts gnawing on the arm of the Macho Man. This was one of the sickest things I’d ever seen as a kid and it’s still fucking nuts to this day. Vince & Piper are losing their minds on commentary as Piper rushes to the ring with officials, as does Elizabeth. Jake almost gets Roddy with the snake as he is holding Elizabeth back as Savage is stumbling all over the ring, making it seem like the poison is running through the veins. Jake is laughing as Elizabeth is in tears, crying her eyes out. Roddy finally gets in the ring & slaps the officials in the face for struggling, literally throwing Savage out to the floor as they rush him to the back on a stretcher while we see kids crying as Jake laughs as Lucifer is propped up in the center of the ring as the show ends. THIS WAS NUTS! I met Jake a few years ago and told him how much this scared me as a kid; he smirked and said he did his job then before chuckling. Thanks for scaring the shit out of me Jake (and for signing my action figure).
Greg Valentine vs Barry Horowitz December 7, 1991 Hammer shoves Barry down to start & grabs a side headlock as we get an inset promo of GREG VALENTINE PLAYING GAMEBOY!! He said he’s training for his match and you can hear commentators laugh. Then we get a call from Jack Tunney who is asking to talk to Roddy Piper. So Roddy says he’s feeling like a box of fluffy ducks as Tunney asks if he’ll be in the Royal Rumble and Piper accepts. Hammer drops an elbow for the win and we got ZERO calls of moves in this match. I actually loved & wish they did this more having the President call competitors to compete in the Rumble.
Repo Man vs Larry Sampson December 28, 1991 Repo literally chucks Sampson to the floor within seconds and creeps up on him to hit a knee to the ribs. Back inside, Repo hits a clothesline, then locks on a standing single leg lock, then transitions into a knee bar for the win. Post match he wraps up the legs of Sampson & hangs him by his feet, which is just weird.
Legion of Doom vs The Rockers – WWF Tag Team Titles December 28, 1991 Pretty sure this was the last time Shawn & Marty teamed as they get a blind tag to start with them getting a near fall on Animal. Gorilla press by Animal on Marty as he works the arm & tags Hawk, who drops a double axe & fist drop, but misses the elbow. Kip up by Marty & tag to Shawn, who gets pressed over Hawk’s head, but taken down by HBK, who eats a clothesline by Hawk. Failed diving clothesline by Hawk, as HBK tries a sunset flip, but eats a fist to the face. Tag to Animal, who hits a snap powerslam, tries for a splash & Shawn gets the knees up. Hot tag to Marty, sunset flip/superkick gets a 1 count before the match breaks down. Double superkick on Hawk, then Marty cross bodies Animal, but Shawn dropkicks Animal in the back, who falls on Marty for the 3 count. This was brutally sloppy from both teams as Shawn blames Marty post match, slapping him & Marty almost decks him, but doesn’t. This would also be the final Rockers tag team match together before that one night only reunion 13 years later.

Randy Savage (w/Elizabeth) vs Barbarian January 18, 1992 This was right before the 92 Rumble. Barb attacks immediately, hits a shoulder block, lowers his head & Macho punts him to the corner. Barb cuts him off with a back elbow & back breaker for 2 as we get a quick Taker inset promo. The Fink does a voice over plugging Lowell, Massachusetts and how Hercules will be there, haha. Barb bodyslams Macho down, goes to the top & waits forever before missing a diving headbutt. Savage quickly goes up top & hits a elbow for the 3. Poor Barb. Yes, this gif has nothing to do with this match, but it's another chance for me to post the greatest flying clothesline of all time by Barb.
Tatanka vs Tanaka February 1, 1992 Hooray for guys with similar names! This was the debut of the Native American Tatanka. Hip toss & leaping chop by Tatanka, who shoots Tanaka to the corner, charges & eats a superkick. Tanaka with thrust chops, choking away in the ropes, but Tatanka starts doing the war dance, no selling, then hits a few chops of his own & there’s an awkward cut before he just hits a leaping forearm for the 3 count. This was his finish before the Papoose-To-Go.
Papa Shango vs Dale Wolfe February 8, 1992 The Superstars debut of Papa Shango, as he stalks Wolfe to the corner before kicking him in the belly welly, clubbing & choking him down. Sloppy back breaker leads to the Voodoo Breaker (shoulder breaker) for the 3 count. He does a little chant & walks around Wolfe before laughing in the camera. This was pretty shitty stuff. What’s funny is after this match, we cut to a Hulk Hogan commercial for Right Guard deodorant with Hogan painting on the beach, haha.
Shawn Michaels vs Scott Anton March 7, 1992 Vince is disgusted at the theme music & this could very well be the first time we heard Sexy Boy. Sherri looking great here as HBK takes on the future American Male, Scotty Riggs! HBK cuts a rambling inset promo on Tito Santana & WrestleMania as Riggs gets a headlock, but HBK shots him off & nails a tilt a whirl back breaker. Perfect dropkick sends Riggs to the floor as Sherri crawls to him, distracting him with her hooters, allowing HBK to hit a diving clothesline off the apron. Back inside, he hits Sweet Chin Music, then the Teardrop Suplex for the win. Post match, we see HBK & Sherri bail to an awaiting limo. SHAWN MICHAELS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!
Sid Justice vs Mickey Jay March 7, 1992 The future WCW referee Mickey Jay gets absolutely brutalized in the corner, then chucked outside briefly, only to be just tossed back inside & powerbombed. Harvey Wippleman checks the heartbeat of Mickey before he & Sid give last rites and the stretcher comes out, Sid puts a Hulk Hogan headband on Jay, so he boots him off the stretcher.
Sid Justice vs Dale Wolfe March 14, 1992 Sid chucks Wolfe outside & hits him with a chair, but we don’t get a DQ. Sid screams “if you touch the little guy, you answer to me!” which I should point out Wippleman is out there with him, otherwise that’d seem weird. Sid hits an Alabama Slam back inside & powerbombs Wolfe for the win. Post match, Sid keeps killing Wolfe before comes out to help. Virgil goes after Harvey, so Sid, as promised, attacks him for going after the little guy. Virgil gets 1 punch before Sid drops him with a choke slam. Harvey unties the turnbuckle & Sid slams Virg face first into the exposed buckle “breaking Virgil’s nose”.
Owen Hart vs Doug Somers March 21, 1992 Arm bar by The Rocket, but Somers reverses, only for Owen to flip out. Somers pops him with a right, shoots him to the corner & Owen backflips off the top. It’s weird, he backdrops Somers, but the camera cuts so terribly that they cut to Somers taking a hip toss. Owen hits a snap suplex, leg drop, gut wrench suplex & belly to belly as he goes up top to hit the Rocket Launcher for the 3. Skinner cut an inset promo, so Vince & Perfect literally called 1 move this match.
Crush vs Kato May 9, 1992 The debut of Kona Crush and his glorious mullet, which he’s spent the last year growing after Demolition disbanded. Kato gets some eye rakes & a front face lock before Crush launches him clear across the ring. Knee to the gut & some chops by Kato, as Crush no sells & hits a big back breaker. Gorilla press high over his head as the crowd really doesn’t care at this point. Crush hits a tilt a whirl back breaker & spinebuster for the 3 count.
Big Bossman vs Dave Roulette May 30, 1992 Bossman wins a quick squash with his Boss Man Slam, whatever. Bigger story is post match, Bossman looks to put a beating on Roulette before we see a guy in an orange jumpsuit run through the crowd, hop the railing, hit the ring & beat the shit out of Bossman with the night stick. Some knee lifts put Bossman down as this stranger grabs handcuffs, cuffing Bubba to the top rope. From there, this convict beats Bossman down with the night stick in the legs, ribs, head, you name it. This goes on for minutes before officials hit the ring as Bossman is left laying in a puddle of his own spit, face first down on the mat. The convict hops the railing & leaves as officials roll an unconscious Bossman onto a stretcher. Of course, this was Nailz and this absolutely ruled, but let’s face it, this was fucking ludicrous. He escaped from jail, made it to the arena, hopped the railing, beat down a talent & escaped?? Not to mention, Vince then offered him a contract (he’d have his in ring debut 2 weeks later!)?? This really made zero sense, but as a kid, I ate this shit up, what a great beat down. And we went to break & when we returned we got…
The Berzerker vs Glen Ruth May 30, 1992 Fuck yeah a Berzerker squash over a Headbanger right after Nailz debuts? Berzerker hits a big boot & repeated leg drops as he’s Hussing away with Fuji Hussing right with him. Bodyslam before he ties up Ruth in the ropes, hits a few running boots to the face & a World’s Strongest Slam before chucking Thrasher over the top to the floor for the countout win. I wasn’t skipping a Berzerker squash.
Razor Ramon vs Paul Van Dale August 8, 1992 The Superstars debut of Razor Ramon came against Carmella’s father (excuse to post a Mella moonwalk gif)! Violent chops by Razor as Van Dale gets off a few forearms to the chest, but charges at Razor, who gets a boot to the face. The Bad Guy stomps on Mella’s Daddy before hitting a great choke slam. Razor slaps his opponent, daring him to get up, as Razor hits a back suplex off the second rope before finishing him off with the Razor’s Edge & the 3 count. GREAT debut, really getting over how much of a bad ass Razor was and I love that his finisher was always the Razor’s Edge and not something shitty.
Komet Kid vs Barry Horowitz September 26, 1992 Paul Diamond got the job originally planned for Konnan because “he fit in the costume”. Streamers & fireworks shoot from the hands as the Komet Kid (not yet Max Moon) makes his entrance, with a jet pack on. He literally just jumps from ring step to ring step before getting in the ring. Somersaults after Barry, who pops Kid in the face while stuck in an arm bar. Kid hits the ropes, does a round the world & works back to the arm bar. Really boring offense by a guy from the future. Barry gets a headbutt to the gut & jawbreaker before popping Komet Kid with some forearms, charges & eats a boot. Springing bulldog off the second rope as Kid hits a leaping spin kick. Leaping corner kick & somersault off a Fireman’s Carry for the 3 count. This debut sucked.
Lance Cassidy vs Tom Stone October 10, 1992 So Cassidy was the short lived gimmick that Steve Armstrong had. He came in from WCW after most notably being one half of the Young Pistols with Tracy Smothers. Your standard white meat babyface start as Cassidy worked the arm bar & arm drags early. Stone fought back briefly, but eats a back elbow & dropkick to the floor. The crowd is more preoccupied with something going on in the crowd and I don’t blame them as Stone rolls into the ring & arm dragged down. Slow motion sunset flip gets Cassidy 2 as he works another fucking arm bar (he’s doing this arm bar more than Okada uses Money Clip in a match). Stone gets a punch to the gut & climbs to the top and Cassidy tries to give him the Flair bump off the top, only he DUMPS STONE RIGHT ON TOP OF HIS FUCKING HEAD! Cassidy climbs up top & hits a high cross body for the 3. This was boring as shit and I can’t believe Lance Cassidy made it about 3 months.
Money Inc vs High Energy – WWF Tag Team Titles November 7, 1992 Over the next 3 weeks, we'd get title matches, which I liked, as we rarely got those on Superstars. Three arm drags by Dibiase on Owen to start, as he follows with a bodyslam & mocks The Rocket. Dibiase ducks a clothesline, but Owen pops him with one & High Energy sends the champs bailing with double dropkicks. Koko in with Irwin now & works over the arm before Koko hits the ropes & Dibiase knees him in the back. IRS taunts Owen as the champs double team The Birdman. They make quick tags before Koko ducks a Write Off & levels IRS with a clothesline. Koko makes the hot tag & Owen is dishing out clotheslines & atomic drops. The match cuts as he backdrops Dibiase, shoots him off, lowers his head & Dibiase hits a neckbreaker for 3, just like that, Koko was standing on the apron watching this.
British Bulldog vs Repo Man – WWF Intercontinental Title November 14, 1992 Bulldog works the arm in the early going, with Repo trying to escape with a reversal, but Bulldog reverses right back. Bulldog presses him over his head & slaps on a sloppy chinlock. He hits the ropes & Repo nails a hot shot across the top rope, drops a leg for 2. Shoulder breaker connects, but he drops Bulldog like on the side of his neck on his knee. Repo works the arm over, goes to the small of the back. Bulldog nearly gets a near fall roll up, but Repo up first & hits a clothesline for 2. Back to the arm, then a back breaker, before he misses an elbow, only for Bulldog to miss an elbow as well. Repo to the second rope for a double axe, but Bulldog catches him. Stalling vertical suplex gets a near fall, then he just pops Repo up for a running powerslam for the 3 count. This program was bult before Summerslam and this was finally the pay off & it was…not…worth it.
Bret Hart vs Virgil – WWF Heavyweight Title November 21, 1992 Yeah, Virg got a title shot! Reverse waist lock takedown by Virgil, into a side headlock as Bret shoots him off, Virgil with a cross body for 2, then another headlock takedown. Head scissors by Bret, but he drops the elbow & chucks Virgil to the corner for uppercuts. Irish whip to the opposite side, Virgil floats over, drives shoulders to the midsection & hits a monkey flip for 2. Virgil tries a cross body off the second rope, crashes & burns, Bret applies the Sharpshooter and that does it. 4 minutes tops & Virgil didn’t look terrible here.

You don't need an excuse to post a Carmella gif.

Kamala vs Todd Becker January 9, 1993 Overhead chops & chokes is the standard from Kamala, who hits a crescent kick & more chops as he covers Becker the wrong way. Wippleman & Kim Chee are pissed as Kamala chops Becker & hits his splash, but again covers him the wrong way. He finally does as Harvey & Kim Chee berate the Ugandan Giant post match, slapping at him before Slick comes out and says this is over as Kim Chee drops him with a right. Kamala has had enough & chops him to the floor, chasing Harvey down the aisle and this is the end of their partnership.
Doink vs Reno Riggins February 6, 1993 Cheap shot & a pump handle slam by Doink as Reno tries to hit a corner splash to fight back, misses & Doink locks on the Stump Puller, but it’s a pinning combo as he gets the 3 count. That was it, this was his Superstars debut, absolutely nothing.
Lex Luger vs Jim Powers February 27, 1993 Powers starts posing in Luger’s mirror & it pisses the Narcissist off so he blind sides him. He punts away at the ribs before throwing right hands, then sends Powers pillar to post as he plants him with a powerslam. Luger with a vertical suplex & a running forearm gets the easy win. More posing than actual wrestling moves in this one.
Giant Gonzalez vs Virgil April 3, 1993 Virgil using his speed as he actually tries a test of strength while standing on the top rope, which is a sight to see. Giant brings him down off the ropes gently as Virgil hits a few dropkicks that have no effect. Giant clocks him with a right & picks him up by the throat as he plants Virgil with a Choke Slam for the win. Giant never let go of the choke after the match & Bill Alfonso the official just stood there.
Steiner Brothers vs ? April 3, 1993 This is the final match called by Bobby & Gorilla on Superstars and it’s the end of a legendary era. Scott with a hammerlock & double leg takedown as he flattens one dude with a belly to belly as he tags his partner, so does Scott as Rick gets in and barks. Back drop powerslam by the Dog Face Gremlin as Scott hits a tilt a whirl back breaker & Steiner top rope Bulldog gets the easy 3 count. We never heard their opponents names and sadly we didn’t get much in the way of jabs by Heenan & Gorilla.
Tito Santana vs Mr. Hughes June 26, 1993 Tito works the arm for the opening minutes and ultimately proves to have zero effect as Hughes doesn’t sell it. Tito does hit an arm drag that Hughes flies for as Tito is whipped off the ropes & Hughes grabs the hair & hits a knee to the back. Vince actually calls him Curtis Hughes, which I can’t remember anyone doing during this first stint. Big boot by Hughes gets a 2, but he misses a leg drop in the ropes as Tito hits a hip toss & hits the Flying Jalapeno 1…2…NO! Tito goes to the top, cross body, but Hughes rolls through & gets the tights for the 3 count.
123 Kid vs Barry Horowitz July 24, 1993 Counter wrestling starts us off as Horowitz hits a shoulder, but runs right into a spinning heel kick to give the Kid 2. Snap suplex & snap leg drops as you can see Kid is missing his eyebrows from the famous Mr. Perfect rib. Barry hits a jaw breaker & head butt, but lowers his head and eats a kick. Bodyslam & rolled to his stomach as Kid goes up top & hits the Guillotine legdrop for 3.
Sensational Sherri vs Luna Vachon July 31, 1993 Bam Bam cuts a promo on Sherri pre-match as Luna sneaks up from behind & chokes out Sherri in the corner. Tatanka rushes in and makes the save, fighting off Bammer as Luna and bails with him as Tatanka checks on Sherri. The reason I posted this was this was, I believe Sherri’s final match/appearance with the WWF before the whole Sexy Kurt/I’ll make your ankle hurt deal in 2005. Man, Sherri was awesome, I miss her.
Rock n’ Roll Express vs Flex Armstrong & Richie Rich October 23, 1993 Why do I not remember Ricky & Robert in the WWF in 93? Ricky hits some early arm drags on Flex as he tags Robert, who gets a knee lift and a tag to Rich is made. He gets promptly taken down as Ricky gets in & raked in the eyes. Robert blocks a turnbuckle as the RnR hit dueling atomic drops sending the job guys colliding. Ultimately they hit their double dropkick on Armstrong for the 3. This is so strange seeing them in the WWF at this time, even though I know they were at the Survivor Series 93. The whole Smokey Mountain partnership is weird.
Owen Hart vs Iron Mike Sharpe November 20, 1993 We end this with a double dose of the Iron One as Bruce Prichard is doing his stupid Reo Rogers character that was a shitty Dusty impression with Vince. Owen hits a baseball slide to the floor as Sharpe recovers & gets a cheap shot. He misses a corner splash & Owen gets a school boy for 2. Spinning heel kick by The Rocket as Sharpe gets backdropped. Owen up top, missile dropkick hits about 10% as he still gets the 3 count. Vince talks about how Shawn Michaels will replace Jerry Lawler “due to pending legal action” which is about as close as you’ll get to the actual truth of what happened with Lawler during this time.
Bob Backlund vs Iron Mike Sharpe December 4, 1993 Full Nelson by the former WWF Champ as Sharpe powers out into one of his own, but Backlund slides & kicks out as we have a standoff. Sharpe poses & wants a test of strength, but Backlund gets a wristlock, Sharpe misses a clothesline, drops down & Backlund sits on his back, spins around and gets the 3 count. The fact that the crowd popped for this quick of a win, let alone for Backlund in late 93 is mind boggling.

King of the Ring 1991 September 7, 1991 Providence Civic Center
Here’s a promo from the Texas Tornado promoting his match with Bret Hart, which never happened. Also Beverly Brothers promo on the Bushwhackers, which unfortunately DID happen. You’ll see some other folks are advertised for this show and didn’t show up for a variety of reasons. Strap in kids, this is going to be a rough one. I encourage you to read this all.
Opening Round Hawk vs Jerry Sags Stalling by Sags immediately quiets the crowd, who was on fire after Hawk’s entrance. Hawk trips up Sags and punches him in the mid section before a jump in the footage happens and Jimmy Hart takes the ref while Sags beats down Hawk on the floor. He gets in the ring and mocks the crowd, allowing Hawk to hit a diving tackle off the top for 1 as Jimmy Hart runs distraction, but Hawk grabs the megaphone and clobbers Sags right in front of the ref, causing the DQ in 3 minutes. This was a garbage way to kick off this tournament.
Opening Round Ted Dibiase vs Ricky Steamboat Ring announcer mispronounces Dibiase’s name as Dragon gets an early headlock and Dibiase rolls into pin attempts for 2. They do this for a few minutes as Dragon transitions into a front face lock as we can hear Boring chants already. Dragon charges in the corner, but eats a boot as Dibiase chucks him outside where he slams Ricky’s face into the mat repeatedly, then into the steps. He mocks the crowd as Steamboat tries to shake the cobwebs off fighting back with chops, lowers his head, but eats a boot & clotheslines for 2 by Dibiase. Nice gut wrench suplex for 2 as Dibiase works a chin lock of his own and works it for a few minutes with Steamboat teasing that he’s passing out, but slowly hulks up. Knife edge chops by the Dragon, but Ted cuts him off with a bodyslam, goes for his elbow out the corner, but misses. 10 slams of the head into the corner by Steamboat, who gets a near fall, as does a back suplex, as does a swinging neckbreaker, as does a roll up. Slingshot sends Dibiase face first, Steamboat rolls him up 1…2…bell sounds and Dragon thinks he’s won it, but the 15 minute time limit has expired (despite us getting zero heads up at any point). This was a really fun wrestling match. And considering I knew the result before I watched it, so I saved it for last, it came off like an all time classic compared to the turd burger that is the rest of this show.
Opening Round Jim Duggan vs Brian Knobbs Duggan hits some early clotheslines that sends Knobbs packing, which allows Duggan to get in his chants. Knobbs charges in and gets his punches blocked as Duggan flattens him with a right, charges himself, but Knobbs dumps him over the top to the apron. They both spill to the floor as Duggan is more preoccupied Hoooo-ing to the crowd than doing anything else & gets posted by Knobbs in the process. Duggan goofily sells Knobbs’ punches and we get a rest hold. Hacksaw hulks up, but runs into a kitchen sink knee for 2 before we’re back to the fucking rest hold by Knobbs. Duggan hulks up again, moves out of the way of a charging Knobbs in the corner, gets a school boy & the 3 count in 5 minutes. This was fucking awful.
Opening Round IRS vs The Berzerker Quite the pairing here as the bell sounds and Irwin chokes Mr. Huss Huss with his tie (or something, maybe the tag rope?) and he’s doing this in front of the ref for like a full minute without breaking despite the ref counting to 5 a bunch. He just starts dropping elbows and blatantly low blows his opponent before going up top, but Berzerker gets a boot up. Big boot & bodyslam by the big man gets 2. He drags Irwin to the floor & posts him before grabbing a chair & smacking him with it, again, right in front of the ref. He tosses IRS back in the ring at the count of 9 and the ref counts Berzerker out DESPITE BERZERKER BEING ON OFFENSE! Holy shit this was worse than the Duggan match!
Opening Round Bret Hart vs Pete Doherty (sub for Kerry Von Erich) You replace the Texas Tornado with jobber to the stars Duke of Dorchester, who got crickets here. Tornado vs Bret would’ve been cool, but Doherty attacks at the bell and Bret battles back with a snap suplex while the IC belt is still on. He takes his jacket off, puts the Sharpshooter on and wins it in 30 seconds. This is such a bad tournament.
Opening Round Skinner vs Virgil Holy shit Doherty got more of a reaction than Skinner, who spits right in Virg’s face to start, but Virgil fires off some jabs & atomic drop as the alligator man falls outside. He keeps knocking Skinner outside and you can hear someone loudly chant boring. Skinner begs for mercy already (fuuuuck this) as he lure Virgil in & pulls him face first into the corner. Snap mare & face rake by Skinner, who chokes away as the crowd is dead. Skinner charges in the corner and Virgil literally just holds out his right fist and Skinner runs into it, comically bumping. Shitty punches by Virgil as Ted Dibiase walks out to run distraction, allowing Skinner to hit a Gator Breaker for the 3 count in 5 minutes. This match was offensively awful.
Opening Round Sid Justice (sub for Ultimate Warrior) vs The Warlord (sub for Mr. Perfect) Holy shit we were supposed to get Warrior vs Perfect in this spot, but Perfect was injured and Warrior was fired post Summerslam, so we get Warlord & Sid. Crowd loses their shit for Sid, who wastes no time going to work, but lowers his head and Warlord drives it to the mat. Warlord sends him to the corner, but Sid fires out with a clothesline. They do the same spot, but Warlord gets a clothesline this time. “Good selling” says the person taping this, haha. Chin lock by Warlord, who holds onto it for almost 90 seconds before opting to choke Sid in the ropes instead. Sid reverses an Irish whip, boots Warlord in the gut, powerbomb, 3 count in 3 minutes. Beyond abysmal.
Opening Round The Undertaker vs Animal Crowd is on fire for Animal, who clotheslines Taker to the floor, but he lands on his feet and guillotines Animal over the top. Paul Bearer takes the ref, allowing Taker to choke away in the corner. He drags him to the middle of the ring and keeps choking, with the ref not doing a thing as Animal hulks up from the fucking choke. Atomic drop & 3 clotheslines take Taker off his feet, but he pops upand get shit with a powerslam, but Bearer runs distraction, allowing Taker to hit Animal with the urn for the 3 count in 5 minutes. With the exception of Dibiase/Steamboat, this has been the worst tournament ever. Not kidding.
Beverly Brothers vs The Bushwhackers Oh, you want a palate cleanser from the shit sandwich you just had to choke down? We’ll we’re going to give those guys who worked 4-5 minutes tops a breather by having one of the worst pairings of teams ever to wrestle here. Stalling. Posing. Rest holds. Fuck you. Not doing it. Beverlys won after one of the Whackers was a fucking idiot and distracted the ref long enough to allow the Bevs to guillotine the other for the 3 count. The ring attendant rang the bell at 2 because even he was over this shit.
Quarter Finals IRS vs Jim Duggan Bell sounds and Irwin bails, but eats clotheslines when he gets in, causing him to bail again. He lowers his head for a back drop, but Irwin punts him and hits a clothesline of his own. Elbow drop gets 2 as he locks on his patented abdominal stretch using the ropes. They do that whole spot before Duggan fights back & charges, but eats a corner boot and Irwin rolls him up with his feet on the ropes for 3. Not as awful as the Opening Round, but still garbage regardless.
Quarter Finals Bret Hart vs Skinner “Is it going to take him half hour to get to the ring like last time?” says the dude recording. The answer is yes. Bret works the arm in the early going as I’m shocked at how silent it is, then again, this show has sucked the life out of nearly everyone in Rhode Island. Back to work on the arm before Skinner gets a cheap shot to the throat and rakes at the face. That’s all he does for the next 2 minutes before Bret starts his comeback. Punch to the gut, Side Russian Leg Sweep, Sharpshooter, match over. This was one of the most boring Bret matches I’ve seen.
Quarter Finals Sid Justice vs Undertaker Sid cuts off Taker immediately, but the Dead Man gets a shot to the gut and drops the big man. Paul Bearer has a casket out ringside, so I’m sure that’ll come into play. Much like Skinner did the last match, Taker just chokes Sid in the corner a ridiculously long time. Sid starts throwing chops, charges, but eats a Taker boot and flying clothesline, which was the highest impact move of this whole show (minus Dibiase/Steamboat). Jake Roberts pops up ringside and is cheering on Taker, who chokes Sid in the middle of the ring as the ref doesn’t do jack shit. Sid starts choking Taker in the corner and now the ref tries to break it up, but Sid launches him across the ring. Taker starts his choke and does the same as the ref DQs both men, so that’s how Bret advances to the semis (not the heel, IRS mind you). Post match, the heels beat down Sid and put him in the casket, but Sid gets out and stands tall with the fans cheering him.
Semi Finals IRS vs Jerry Sags Sags gets in some shit rights, immediately calls Jimmy to hold Irwin, who moves and Sags collides with his manager, yet that’s not the finish. He drops Irwin with a clothesline, grabs his briefcase, distracting himself long enough to allow Irwin to get a school boy for the 3 count. That was it. Irwin didn’t do any offense.
Finals Bret Hart vs IRS Bret has worked less than 5 minutes to get to the finals. That said, Irwin has worked 6 minutes and didn’t do any offense the last match to advance. So these guys must be exhausted! I love how Irwin won the last match, went to the back and then got announced again for the very next match (despite not having entrance music). Ring announcer says the winner gets “this trophy here ringside.” Bret works the arm & headlock early, but IRS overtakes him and gets a sleeper with his feet on the ropes. Bret fights back after a few minutes, but eats a kitchen sink and legdrop for 2. Another Irwin rest hold as I deserve this fucking trophy for staying awake for this show. He misses a corner attack allowing Bret to get an atomic drop, teasing a Sharpshooter, but stomps on the belly welly. Backbreaker for 2, snap suplex for 2, but Irwin drops down and Bret tumbles outside. Quickly back to the apron, Irwin punches away, but Bret gets a sunset flip, only for Irwin to punch free. Small package by Bret gets 2, Irwin tries the Stock Market Crash, but holds onto the top rope. Earl Hebner punts the hand free, allowing Bret to get a school boy for the 3 count and mercifully this is over. This match was 95% boring, but that other 5% was better than anything on this show not involving Steamboat/Dibiase.
I had never seen this show before, now I know why and also why it was never officially released. This was such a terrible show that is saved by the solid Dibiase/Steamboat wrestling match. The rest was total dog shit.

My goodness does that smell like a watchalong. Hand held footage only. This is what I watched. I've been watching quite a bit from this YouTube page (no clue how long it stays up), but there's some gems and some fucking hot garbage (case and point with this KOTR). So expect some more reviews of matches like this soon. Bret vs Savage from 94 in Japan with Savage playing heel? I just watched that this week, fucking crazy stuff.

Randomone, I've actually seen that Bret/Savage match from '94, probably on the same channel. Very very interesting indeed. I would have loved a Bret/Savage match at WrestleMania 9 instead of the BS we got.

It's so good. I just clicked on a full show from 94 Japan and that was listed as the main and I couldn't go to it quick enough. This was post Mania too. I had always thought Savage wrestling was done after that and he just commentated. Pleasantly surprised.
This is one of if not the worst tournament I've ever seen. And yes, I'm even counting WCW Russo era tournaments. They were also dog shit but were so terribly booked that it brought some sort of joy at how much of a disaster they were.

WWF Heavyweight Title Bret Hart vs Randy Savage May 7, 1994 Yokohama, Japan Bret works the arm early in the opening minutes, but Savage got free and rolled to the floor to regroup. Bret holds the ropes open for him and we get sportsmanship as Savage accepts, offers a handshake and BOOTS BRET IN THE GUT! Rake of the eyes and chokes him on the top rope before slamming him down by the hair! Savage playing heel in this, I love it! Headlock takedown by Savage as Bret gets to his feet, hits the ropes, but Savage with a kitchen sink before going to a sleeper. They repeat the spot, but Savage lowers his head, Bret gets a sunset flip for 2, Savage pops up first and cracks Bret with a clothesline. Bret floats over a bodyslam, tries for a roll up, but Savage runs to the ropes, ducks down & Bret tumbles outside. Double axe handle off the top to the floor by Savage who waits for Bret to recover long enough to post him. Back inside, Savage gets a 2 count before launching Bret into the corner. Eye rake again and small package gets 2 as Savage lights up Bret with jabs before choking away. He drives Bret throat first over the top & drops an elbow on the edge of the apron. Snap suplex connects for another near fall as Bret fires off a superkick to the gut, gets some shots in, boot up in the corner as he backdrops a charging Savage to the floor. Slingshot plancha by Bret connects as he unleashes punches before throwing Macho back inside. Headbutt & slam head first into the corner as he hits an atomic drop & clothesline for 2, as does a snap suplex. Back breaker hits as Bret goes to the second for his elbow, but Savage moves!! Neckbreaker by Savage, then a bodyslam as Savage goes up top and HITS THE ELBOW DROP!! 1…2…BRET KICKS OUT!! Savage doesn’t waste time, goes up top again, dives for an axe handle, but Bret punches him in the gut on the way down & sinks in the Sharpshooter and SAVAGE TAPS OUT!! Post match, Savage shakes Bret’s hand and puts him over to the Yokohama crowd. This match fucking ruled! Hidden gem that I did not know existed until 20 minutes ago and I’m so happy I saw it.
18 Man Royal Rumble May 9, 1994 Osaka, Japan Rick Martel & Bob Backlund starts and Backlund almost immediately tries to pin The Model like an idiot. Just as he’s about to actually eliminate him over the top, Jinsei Shinzaki (who got hired by WWF thanks to this tour) is in at 3 and boots Backlund in the head. They double team Opie and half heartedly try to toss him, but to no avail. Hakushi & Martel collide into each other as Hakushi does a snap mare & chin lock in a Royal Rumble while Adam Bomb is out at 4. They triple team Backlund as the 123 Kid is 5 and makes the save for his fellow babyface. Hakushi & Kid try to eliminate Martel while Bob & Bomb are paired off. Randomly Hakushi & Kid start slapping each other as Masashi Aoyagi is 6 as he & Hakushi take the fight to Bomb & Kid, but Backlund hits a fucking piledriver on Hakushi! 7 is Tatanka as Backlund hits an atomic drop on Aoyagi, who leaps almost halfway across the ring to eliminate himself. Billy Gunn at 8 as nothing much else happens aside from Martel & Tatanka reigniting their feud from two years prior. Nobokazu Hirai is 9, Bart Gunn is 10 and finally our next elimination comes as the Kid backdrops Hakushi to the floor. Owen Hart is 11 as Martel dumps Hirai and the first three guys eliminated are the Japanese wrestlers, funny how that works. Bam Bam Bigelow is 12, who gets a loud pop from the crowd, but he does really nothing in the time he’s in. 13 is Randy Savage as this ring is friggin full. 14 is Samu as the Beast from the East dumps both Smokin Gunns, while Samu & Owen dump out the 123 Kid. Undertaker is 15, as Rick Martel attacks him during his entrance, which ultimately leads to The Model’s elimination. Samu & Bammer go after Taker, but Backlund of all people, makes the save. Fatu is 16, 17 is Bret Hart, who bolts for Owen and we get a slug fest. The final entrant is Doink as the really only noteworthy thing to happen is Bob Backlund avoiding elimination a ton of times to pop the crowd. Everyone else has just been paired off and resting in corners. Doink is tossed by Adam Bomb, but soon after Bomb is dumped by Bret. Tatanka charges at Bigelow, who low bridges and Tatanka flies to the floor. Owen dumps Backlund and you can hear how upset the crowd is, but give Backlund a loud cheer for his performance. Shockingly Bret & Owen are fighting one another and tumble to the outside. Samu is tossed by Taker, leaving the final four as Bigelow, Taker, Savage & Fatu. Also surprisingly, Fatu & Bigelow successfully dump out Macho Man as Taker drops them both with a clothesline. The heels regain control, but Bigelow tries a dropkick, hits Fatu and eliminates him. Down to Bigelow & Taker as they go at it back & forth as Taker keeps sitting up from the attacks. Bigelow misses his diving headbutt, Taker hits a chokeslam, then clotheslines Bigelow over the top and wins it. Winner: The Undertaker
Due to the uniqueness of this match, I’d say it was entertaining. It’s really boring at the start, but the end of it picked up and I was legit shocked by some of the eliminations as I had no idea who was winning this thing. This is also weird because this was May and Taker had been off TV in the USA since January and wouldn’t return until Summerslam.

Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Title Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels January 14, 1994 This was almost a trial run for their Mania match and I never have seen this match. Shawn stalls like crazy early, but they lock up and Razor immediately clotheslines him to the floor where we brawl. Razor lifts up the padding on the floor, but the ref distracts him enough for Shawn to post him. Bodyslam on the concrete floor as he targets the back inside the ring. He goes up the entrance and grabs the ladder, but Razor cuts him off. Shawn does his corner bump as Razor gets the ladder, but Shawn baseball slides it into him (I think, someone stood in front of the camera). Shawn keeps ramming the ladder into the gut and sets up the ladder super slow allowing Razor to cut him off, but Shawn targets the back again with a backbreaker. Shawn starts climbing again, but Razor pulls his trunks down and Shawn is bare assed, so he takes his trunks portion of his gear off and chokes Razor with him (gross) to the floor. He takes too long to put his gear back on and Razor posts HBK. Back inside, a slugfest ensues and Razor reverses a whip and Shawn crashes into the ladder. Shawn does a Flair flop off the ladder and both are down. Razor kicks Shawn over & over on the ropes in the corner and Razor clobbers him with the ladder. Razor starts climbing, touches the belt, but Shawn tips him over. HBK hits a piledriver, slowly climbs, but Razor shoves him off and HBK tumbles to the floor. They slowly start climbing at the same time and Razor hits a stiff right sending Shawn flying off the ladder and he guillotines himself on the top rope. Both start climbing the ladder at the same time, but this time the ladder is so wobbly that they tumble off. They start climbing again and Razor does a half suplex/half bodyslam off the ladder, slowly climbs, grabs the title and falls down with it to win it. I have to think of the mindset that this was before their Mania match and if you go in with those eyes, this was pretty damn great. That said, their Mania 10 match blew this out of the water.
Alundra Blayze vs Heidi Lee Morgan – WWF Women’s Title February 4, 1994 Rematch of the finals of the tournament that crowned the champion as Morgan hits a flying forearm out the gate for 2. Blayze leapfrogs Morgan & gets a slap as they have a clean break. Morgan backed to the corner as Blayze hits a snap mare & bodyslam for 2, so she bodyslams Morgan again & goes to the second, but gets slammed by the challenger. Brutal “forearm to the pectoral” as Vince says & bodyslam gets a 1 count. Morgan wants a German suplex, but Blayze fights out with a Northern Lights Suplex for 3. Welp, it was a match.
Earthquake vs AC Corner May 14, 1994 They misspelled the future D’Lo Brown’s name as its Conner not Corner. D’Lo bounces off Quake & the big man just steps on his chest as he connects with a huge leg drop to follow. Big elbow as Quake hits his powerslam as the tremors starts & he hits the Earthquake splash as he teabags Corner for the 3 count. Poor D’Lo, he’d be back in a few years.
Adam Bomb vs Kwang June 4, 1994 It’s a slugfest to start as Kwang hits a wheel kick, but Bomb just powers Kwang down with a choke as Kwang hair pulls his way free. They are having the equivalent of a cat fight to the floor as they chop & slam each other into the side of the ring & steps as Bomb keeps throwing rights. Back inside Kwang takes over with a corner clothesline & chokes Bomb to the corner as Harvey Wippleman is ringside and hates seeing both clients beat each other up. Bomb fights back & it’s nothing but punches in bunches by both. Kwang then bites & chops Bomb to the corner, lowers his head & eats a boot. Stiff clothesline & right hand sends Kwang outside as he tries getting back inside, but Harvey stops him and won’t let him back inside. Countout win for Bomb. The slugfest was actually pretty solid, as the match was a Sophie’s Choice for poor Harvey.
Mabel vs Nikolai Volkoff June 18, 1994 Nikolai attacks from behind as Ted Dibiase is smiling ringside while Volkoff hits a big boot & drops Mabel! Knee drop gets a 2 count as Volkoff keeps punting away before choking the big man down. Mabel powers up & hits a terrible flying shoulder tackle for 2, THEN DOES A DROP TOE HOLD as IRS runs out from the back and attacks leading to the DQ. This leads to Tanaka, Owen, Razor & Bam Bam all running in and fireworks go off to end the show as these 6 are in the King of the Ring that week on PPV. Clever idea to get everyone in there, but Volkoff vs Mabel to get there was a struggle.
Well Dunn vs The Italian Stallion & John Paul June 25, 1994 Well poses too much & eats a clothesline by the Stallion, who tags in Paul. He gets some arm drags & works the arm as Well backs him in his corner so Dunn can clock him in the kidneys & Well can level him with a clothesline. Harvey & Dunn cut a promo in the camera as John Paul fights back briefly, but gets slammed down. Paul gets a boot up & Well eats it flush as Stallion tags in and is a house of fire. He loses his place & Well hits a corner wheel kick as Dunn hits a flying clothesline for the wing. Well Dunn never made a tag as a team in this. Steven Dunn was in for 15 seconds.
123 Kid vs Jeff Hardy June 25, 1994 Fairly confident Jeff was still in high school at this point and I’m not kidding. Jeff gets a takedown off a handshake as Kid hits a shoulder tackle, but Jeff with a hip toss. Kid applauds as Jeff grabs a headlock. He hits a shoulder, blocks a kick, but Kid comes up with a kick to the face. Snap legdrop lands flush on the skull as Kid hits a snap suplex & lights up Jeff with kicks. Bodyslam into an arm bar, which is a pretty dull transition, so Jeff grabs the ropes. Kid goes back to kicks, charges in the corner & Jeff gets a boot up. Young Hardy goes for a Whisper in the Wind, but Kid moves & locks on “the pretzel move” as Gorilla calls it for the submission win. Pretty crazy seeing this pairing this early in each other’s careers.
Kwang vs Jim Powers August 6, 1994 Powers looking bigger than ever as he hits a cross body for 2 early. Boot to the corner as Kwang reverses a whip & hits a wheel kick as Powers does a Flair Flop. Green mist in the air by Kwang, who shoots Powers off & hits a spinning heel kick for the 3 count. Zero idea how much longer Powers stuck around, but his squashes are getting shorter & shorter while he keeps getting more muscular.
Shawn Michaels & Diesel vs Reno Riggins & Gary Scott October 15, 1994 Vince & Lawler talk in an inset promo to new live event news analyst Charlie Minh, who I never heard of. Riggins hits some shoulders on HBK, who promptly sends him to the floor as Diesel chucks him back inside, so Shawn dumps him the other side. Diesel again throws Reno back inside as HBK taunts he’ll do it again, but instead hits Sweet Chin Music. Tag to Diesel, who wants Scott as he hits a big boot to the face as HBK checks his hair in the camera. Diesel with the Jackknife Powerbomb as HBK makes the tag & pin for the win.
123 Kid vs Chris Canyon October 22, 1994 Guest ring announcer is a fan who Lawler roasts to death as here we go X-Pac vs Mortis. Canyon (not spelled Kanyon here) hits a shoulder block, but Kid tries one and takes a bump. King says Canyon reminds him of Razor Ramon as he shoots Kid off, but puts on the brakes & Canyon eats a wheel kick. Canyon hits a back elbow in the corner & he goes for a moonsault, that Kid avoids. This time Kid goes up top with a missile dropkick for the 3 count. This needed to go much longer, it was good while it lasted.
Hakushi vs Reno Riggins December 24, 1994 This is the debut for Hakushi, who hits a bodyslam & Vader Bomb out of the corner for 2. We get a whole lot of chops before he hits a superkick & dropkick that sends Reno outside. Flying cross body over the top to the floor as he hits a shoulder tackle off the top back inside as Hakushi goes up & hits the top rope headbutt for an impressive debut. Man, they did nothing with Hakushi did they? Aside from a great match with 123 Kid and Bret.

I'm watching the old World Championship Wrestling show from the start. Reliving some of my childhood.
Magnum TA forcing himself on Baby Doll, and then tearing her dress when she slaps him. All while David Crockett is yelling "she likes it". Very rapey.

Yikes. That's rough.
I'm watching a litle Mid South from 85 and some Butch Reed stuff. I watched a video package of him working out and two dudes were pop-locking while he did it. Then Butch would watch them work out, stare at the camera and nod his head in approval.
I know music is dubbed over for like 99% of these shows, but the weird level remains.

First round of the AEW Women's World Title Eliminator Tournament literally just ended. Here's the recap. Excalibur riding solo on commentary here for our opening round matches from Japan. Ref has a mask & shield on and it’s an empty building.
Mei Suruga vs “The Magical Girl” Yuka Sakazaki Happy to see Yuka back on AEW TV (YouTube, but still). Series of rolls by Mei to start and turns it into an Oklahoma Roll for 2 as she posed for the camera at the same time. She ran into a Yuka suplex as she applied a head scissors in the ropes before heading up top. Mei charges at her, Yuka cartwheels out and slaps on a STF. Mei gets the ropes & fights back, but Yuka no sells, so Mei stomps on the foot, then hits a springboard leg sweep, which was cool. They do a series of reverse whips to the corner & Mei bodyslams her down for 2. Reverse snap mare by Mei, who rises up, ties up the legs and gets a variation of a Muta Lock/reverse Cattle Mutilation. Yuka gets the ropes and gets met with a double axe off the second by Mei for 2. Yuka fights back with a step up corner kick & flying back elbow off the second, then stalling brainbuster as she calls for her finish, but Mei rolls to her feet. She charges with a cross body and Yuka rolls through it for 2. Mei slips through a hammerlock move into a Gedo Clutch variation for 2, tries a victory roll, but turns it into a body scissors for 2. This is getting sloppy on Mei’s part, as she tries for Cattle Mutilation, but Yuka gets free, rolls through & punts Mei in the face. Sliding D for 2 as Yuka nails a standing powerslam, then her Magical Girl Splash (450 Splash off the top rope using the middle of the ropes) for the 3. Yuka advances!
Veny vs Emi Sakura Veny is wearing a robe given to her by Hana Kimura’s mother as Veny & Hana used to team together before Hana’s death. Good on Excalibur for pointing things like that out. Veny almost does a worm, but full rotates and lands on her feet to avoid an early Sakura attack, but Emi sends Veny flying with a hair mare. Fucking brutal chop by Sakura, but Veny nails a back handspring elbow, then a springboard cross body, but Emi rolls to the floor. Veny up top for a MOONSAULT to the floor! Back inside, Emi fights back with a somersault senton off the second, but opts to trash talk her opponent. Double arm back breaker as Sakura goes to the corner, but Veny nails a variation of AR Fox’s Lo Mein Pain, hits a running shooting star for 2. Veny tries a suplex, but Sakura spins it into a Dragon Sleeper. She sends Veny to the corner, hits a diving cross body in the corner and 1 Vader Bomb, tries another, but Veny gets the knees up. Fireman’s carry takedown into a neck crank using her legs, but Sakura gets the ropes. Hard chop by Sakura, but series of head kicks by Veny for 2, sliding boot for another 2. Sakura reverses a German into Angels Wings for the double down. This match has been excellent thus far. They trade headbutts & brutal forearms before Veny throws a kick combo, goes up top for a shotgun dropkick for 2. Sakura fights back with some chops, they trade counters, La Magistral by Veny gets the closest 2 of the match. Violent Sakura chops cave in Veny’s chest, but as she charges at her Veny nails a leg lariat, then choke bomb for 2. Veny calls for a moonsault, but misses, Sakura does a La Magistral into an arm trapped Dragon Sleeper and passes out it seems, but Sakura lets go, hits a Tiger Driver for the 3. I LOVED THIS MATCH. Really wish Veny would’ve won.
“The Cutest in the World” Maki Itoh vs Ryo Mizunami HERE COMES MY GIRL MAKI ITOH! She calls people fuckers & shit heads on social media and has already gone after Jim Cornette. She’s a girl after my own heart! She sings & dances to the ring and I want her to be AEW Champion forever. Itoh hits a forearm in the ropes, dares Mizunami to hit her, which she does and Itoh starts crying. She suckers Mizunami in, stomping on her foot, charges for a shoulder, but Mizunami is so much bigger, Itoh bounces off her. Kojima machine gun chops by Mizunami, who turns into a mime momentarily doing the rope pull, before hitting a corner clothesline for 2. Float over of a bodyslam into a hammerlock DDT by Itoh, then running bulldog out the corner and does her signature corner punches, then the Kokeshi before slapping on the Boston Crab. Mizunami gets free and hits a powerslam for 2, brutal corner clothesline & legdrop for another 2. Forearm battle commences and Itoh lights her up, but Mizunami eats through them & crumbles her opponent. Mizunami goes for the home run shot, but Itoh hooks a single leg crab, but gets the ropes. Itoh screams loudly and slams her own head into the top buckle, then headbutts Mizunami, who tries to hit one of her own, but crumbles as Itoh no sells. They crack skulls at the same time and Itoh hits a jumping DDT, then Tornado DDT for 2. Diving headbutt off the top misses and Mizunami nails the Spear for 2, but Mizunami sinks in the head/arm triangle and Itoh taps. DAMMIT! I want more Maki Itoh in AEW.
Aja Kong vs Rin Kadokura Kong is 50 and a 34 year pro. She looks exactly the same as she did at the 95 Survivor Series when I first saw her, but just moves a LOT more gingerly. Rin throws everything at Kong to start, but gets no sold. Leaping elbow for 2 by Kong as Rin tries fighting back, but no sold again and she just murders Rin with chops. She punches her in the face and the ref literally shoves Aja to reprimand her. She rag dolls Rin up and MURDERS HER WITH A PILEDRIVER for 2. Aja sells her first move, a DDT by Rin, who nails a diving dropkick in the ropes, then a shotgun dropkick to the back. For some dumb reason, Rin tries a Northern Lights Suplex on a large woman, tries a crucifix, which is equally as dumb, so Aja just sits on her for 2. Violent rib kicks by Kong, who tries a Back Drop Driver, but Rin fights off. Kong clobbers her with a lariat for 2, then goes to the second for I assume a Vader Bomb, but Kadokura is up & slams her down. Rin to the second rope & hits another Tornado DDT, then flipping senton in the corner for 2. Kong gets up & nails her Back Drop Driver for 2, as she signals for the end, tries a brainbuster, Rin fights out, Kong nails a dropping clothesline for 2, then hits a diving elbow drop off the TOP ROPE for the 3 count. Kong did much more selling than I assumed. This match was probably the weakest of the 4.
So it’s Aja Kong vs Ryo Mizunami and then Emi Sakura vs Yuka Sakazaki in the semis on the Japanese side. Fun 1 hour show. It’s on YouTube, highly suggest checking it out. And behold the greatness that is Maki Itoh!
