This should be a solid show, probably better than most of the recent Takeovers, but it'll be weird to see War Games in an empty arena, or sort of empty, Thunderdome or whatever.

I have zero idea why NXT decided to book this like TNA and give the babyfaces the advantage to start. That's not how War Games should work but whatever.

Io appeared on top of the cage with a trash can, put it over herself and did a leap off the cage wiping off everyone.
The only cool spot of the match so far.

Ciampa vs Thatcher was real good. Became hard hitting as fuck.
At one point Thatcher's ear exploded and was pouring blood.
Ciampa won via Willows Bell.

I'm not sold on Lumis, have never been really. I don't understand how his character is a babyface. Meanwhile, I fucking love Trevor Lee

I have no idea why this needed to be a strap match. It was just a normal match with a strap (probably for the best) without having to slap any corners or whatever.
Both guys tried hard, but I just couldn't get into it. I didn't care.
Lumis won via his submission finish using the strap.

Priest just hit a launching Razors Edge into one of those barricade thingys to take Ruff out of the match for a bit. Priest has remorse as Gargano attacked.
Definitely think Ruff comes back in at the end of this thing.

One of the ghost faces knocked out Priest with a pipe and Gargano pins Ruff with One Final Beat to regain the NA Title.
Stupid overbooked finish. Felt like WCW, bro.
This did have a few fun moments though.

I'm happy for Biff Busick. Dude busted his ass on the indies, CZW, Dragon Gate, PWG too, got signed to NXT, didn't do anything for years, was stuck on 205 Live purgatory for a bit, now he's main eventing a Takeover.

Everyone is kicking out of finishers, including Pat kicking out of Panama Sunrise.
KOR pins Burch off a knee drop to the face on a chair. Weird way to end it, but fuckin hell what a match!
Dunne fucked up Cole's ribs giving him a Bitter End on a set up chair.
Pat was a fucking star again. Can't deny it.
Probably my favorite War Games match so far from NXT.

I love that you had to do a 180 on Pat I still think he's a douchebag outside the ring, but man, he's a fucking natural as a wrestling character. He's in the perfect role of mouthpiece who occasionally wrestles. I never want a title on him though, he needs to manage champions, which he's doing now.
