Chilling to see the Perro Aguayo footage.
Overall Rey doc was good. Liked the early footage especially.
Finale next week on Wrestlemania 1
Then you have Rivals…Brie Bella vs Stephanie McMahon. They’ve literally ran out of feuds to talk about apparently. That one will be a skip.

The Wrestlemania 1 doc was excellent. Best of the series so far. Tons of people we haven’t heard from about it.

2 hour NWO doc was on last night. I turned it off. It’s everything we know already.
There’s only so much you can hear the same story, even if it is new interviews with Nash, Hogan, Bischoff, Waltman.
Jake is next week. Probably skipping that too.

They need to find new material. Put together some docs about some of the lesser known angles or times in wrestling.
Paul Heyman in WWE.
The creation of the Royal Rumble or Survivor Series.
Original NXT.
Something new.

Wait, I just saw the clip of Starrcade 97 talk.
Hogan said he didn’t want to do the job because HE was so over you needed to figure out what this leads to after, he’s about money. He said Sting was supposed to kick out. FUCK HIM.
Sting kept saying there was miscommunication.
Nash said watching from the monitor felt like watching the Hindenburg. NASH WASNT AT THE SHOW! His match with Giant didn’t happen.
Bischoff said with Conrad that Sting being out of shape played a major role. THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED AT ALL HERE. Fuck Eric.
They’re all full of shit and just can’t admit they fucked up royally after all these years. It’s still a game of pass the buck.

Hogan said Bischoff became a mark for Hall & Nash when he should’ve been tightening the ship.
Hulk Hogan said that.
Hulk Hogan.
Let that sink in.

Glad I didn't watch the Starrcade thing. I would've been severely triggered.
They should've gotten Nick Patrick, who admitted in an interview that during Sting's entrance, Hogan told him to do a regular count and not a fast count.

The creation of the Royal Rumble or Survivor Series. I don't think they want to officially admit that Survivor Series and Royal Rumble were only created to sabotage Jim Crockett pay per views.

The last WWE documentary I watched was the old Kliq DVD from about 2015. Too much revisionist history, lies, and easily disproven statements.
The guys on these docs act like the internet doesn't exist and that this shit can't be fact-checked.
I fact-check most of it from memory.

Danielson was right. Wrestling fans are fickle.
I'm just glad there's that type of programming on a somewhat decent source like A&E. YouTubeTV doesn't have it. I was shocked to discover the A&E app had the NWO doc this morning. All of the old ones are up too. No money, no sign-in. Just download and watch.
Hogan lies about stuff. Maybe more than anyone. Wrestlers have selective memory. If you know that going in, these are usually pretty entertaining with plenty of "factual" info. Although your favorites lie too.
I might be alone, but I dig these for the alternate camera shots from big moments too.

Decided to pop on the Lawler doc briefly.
So happy “WWE Analyst” Sam Roberts is there to explain Andy Kaufman and Taxi to me.

I’ve seen a ton of Taxi reruns on Nick at Nite growing up and thought it was hilarious.
WWE’s decision on where to throw in Sam and Rosenberg continue to baffle the hell out of me.

Dusty doc was terrific
One thing I didn’t like (I know it’s WWE produced so I’m not surprised) is that WWE was painted multiple times as “saving” Dusty. And while the post WCW run around 2006 was true, them driving home how the polka dots weren’t a rib and how he was a part of WWF’s pop culture made me roll my eyes big time. It was absolutely a rib and Dusty was not on the same level as Hogan (who claims he wanted the American Dream NWA Dusty).
Aside from that, I thought it was very well done. Happy that Tony let Dustin be involved with this.

Dusty’s defense strategy for coaching football was have the big kids together on the line as the Jumbo World Order and had shirts made, haha.

I enjoy the concept of this Wanted Treasures show, but it’s more hokey than Storage Wars
Guy who has the Mega Powers robe
Foley: $2,500? Guy: No, too low Foley: $8,500 Guy: Not a chance. How about $10,000 and ringside tickets to Wrestlemania for my wife and I? Foley: (really thinking about it, as this request seems like a dealbreaker since Mania tickets are $2,500 a piece) DEAL Guy: OH MY GOD, WE’RE GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA, honey!!
Also the guy who had Macho Man’s hat from his monster truck Lita: $2,500? Guy: $5,300 is penny for penny what I put into it Lita: Deal
Dude made zero profit?

I might sound like a straight up n00b with this question (I'm not a memorabilia guy), but exactly how do these random people wind up with this stuff in their possession to begin with?

I'm not part of it, but there's a network of known collectors. Especially for the higher ticket items like official belts, robes, etc. Many of the stories I hear are from the kids of people that worked at arenas. They'd be given, or find, stuff. Many of the guys back in the day would sell stuff off for a quick hit too.
