Death Triangle vs Elite is now Best of 7.
I don’t care why (Death Triangle cheated and this match rules that’s why), I just love that I might get to see this 6 more times.

Regal turning and MJF winning as a heel was probably the second worst possible finish, only behind the Firm helping MJF win as a heel.
Mediocre PPV for a mediocre product. Should've expected it but oh well.

Now for the non-troll opion
Happy I called that finish in my Dynamite recap Wednesday. I'm genuinely curious to see where they go now with Regal turning on Moxley (and also Danielson, Yuta & Claudio). Regal can form his own little unit if he so chooses and we could have a series of matches. I also think there's a reason why Wardlow lost his title and he'll eventually get MJF down the line, not soon, but down the line maybe. I really liked this show. Weakest match was Jade/Nyla. Best match was the trios tag with the main event, ROH title and Women's title all being really good as well. Opening was great drama and I think the meat man 3 way was solid. Saraya's return went a little long, but she was fine in her first match back in 5 years. First PPV for F4W in the books.

I'm not trolling. I didn't like most of the show.

The crowd is super hot for MJF, so of course you piss all over that and have it be another case of that tricky Max faking everyone out again. Pass.
The Elite come back, lose, and suddenly it's a 7 match series? What?
ROH matches were good for what they were.
Jade and Nyla was whatever.
Enjoyed Jamie Hayter finally winning a title, but hate her beating Toni Storm. So now Thunder Rosa comes back and beats Jamie? Or will Rosa just go away?
Zero Hour stuff was enjoyable.

I never understood the folks who thought MJF should be babyface. He’s a dickhead, he’s The Devil, why turn him babyface now? Granted I think The Firm stuff with him sucks and I don’t see why the Ass Boys, Moriarty or Morrissey need to be involved. I like Stokely & Egon.
You have Mox, Danielson, Kingston, Claudio, Hangman, Wardlow, now the Bucks & Omega are back. I don’t get why MJF should’ve been babyface with that amount of faces already.
This was a way to have your slimey douche cheat and win with the help of the guy who told him he didn’t have to. Regal seems himself in MJF and decided to hitch his wagon on the future instead of Mox who is hell bent on destroying himself.
I dug it. I’m surprised how many people dislike it. I get MJF is over with the crowd, but how much can you get out of him as a babyface compared to a top World champion heel?

I’d have Hayter beat Rosa whenever she returns straight up. Hayter shouldn’t be interim anything, hell Toni shouldn’t have been interim champ. Rosa is gone, she forfeits the title, that’s it. Move on for the time being.
Hayter I wish won it without help though. She’s someone I wish would turn full babyface and feud against Britt. I wouldn’t mind heel Rosa & Britt’s bad history ultimately bringing them together.

I should say something positive about the Elite. I enjoyed their use of Kansas for their entrance.

The crowd singing along was great.
I wouldn’t assume this is permanent, but it was fun for a one night deal

I almost hope it is permanent. And it leads to some kind of change. I know it won't be, and they'll keep doing the same dumb shit they always have. But I hope..

Glad Peeps is dropping truth bombs. Can't really have a Blackpool Combat Club when the only guy from Blackpool leaves. Yes MJF is a dick and the "devil" but fans are primed for a face run and that would be $$$ for rating and merch. Plenty of heels to feud with on their two thousand man roster.

No complaints from this guy. I thought it was basically a perfect show. VERY enjoyable.

I think at this point Peeps has a clear anti-AEW slant. It's the same reason I don't talk about WWE on here, because I don't like them and I know my comments will be negative.
There is no perfect show, but there are always some positive takeaways you can find if you're being objective.

Ok well first off I'm kinda watching it again right now as well as just going off memory. (Which isn't good) Plus I'm trying to watch the International Space Station and stuff. The Factory sucks but they're kinda fun in the Scrapiron Gadaski, Kenny Jay kind of way. It never gets old watching Cutie get the living shit kicked out of him. That one dude looks like a generic, SUPER GENERIC, version of Damian Priest. Was there ever a bigger letdown than when Cole Carter was exposed to be the masked Sting guy a few weeks ago? Who in the ever loving fuck is Cole Carter? Tony Khan must be a rocker. He's now paid for Sympathy For The Devil-Stones, Carry On My Wayward Son-Kansas & Jane-Jefferson Starship. For the record, "We Built This City" is NOT the worst song of all-time and actually kind of rocks. Anywho, fast forward to what matters most. Danhausen (who was not so mysteriously the 5th man) came out like some sort of Finn Balor-Demon alt personality, kicked the crap out of the entirety of The Factory, looked natural and dominant doing it, and picked up the win. Nothing had previously prepared me for that moment and it very well might've been the moment of the night to be honest. Fuck I loved it. Now granted, I don't need to see that more than maybe 2 times a year but damn.

Love the callback to the original Team Taz, Ricky Starks and Brian Cage. Also love how AEW has been highlighting both of these wrestlers over the past couple months. When I heard that the Eliminator Tourney had been postponed by a week for Ricky not being cleared, you had to figure he was at the very least going to the Finals if not winning it all. First Ricky had to get past the Murderous Monster Hawk who just so happens to be the most underutilized and unsung hero of AEW. You want a GREAT fucking match? Bring in Lance Archer. Then let him sit in obscurity for the next 6 months for no fucking reason. (Truth be told, there actually is a reason as he landed on his head and was almost paralyzed and when he was finally heeled up he performed in the G1) But still. Hater logic be damned.
Where was I? Oh ya, Cage. This dude is a fucking freak. Dude's that size shouldn't be able to do the shit he and Wardlow do. I have no thoughts on this Prince Nana cat. Doesn't do anything for me either way.
So Starks overcomes two of the most versatile monsters AEW has to offer. He's on a mega (not maga) face run. He's winning this shit. OR IS HE? Egon has had quite a resurgence with Lambert out of the way. I enjoyed Dan Lambert but he didn't seem to do a damn thing for Egon. Page has been at absolute center stage in The Firm's beatdowns of one-time ally MJF. Stokely is MJF's former best friend. Both Starks & Ethan can talk. Both have been featured as of late. EITHER make sense to advance in a match versus the Devil himself.
Apparently the winner takes on The Salt of the Earth at Winter is Coming in like 3 weeks or so. We're guaranteed a nice little feud no matter who it is.

I would be completely negligent if I were to ignore the backstage segment prior to the Starks/Cage match. It was between the two most important signings AEW has made in the past few months. Renee & Takeshita. Dude is so humble and extremely likeable. Same with Renee for that matter.

So I've been thinking about Eddie. Not in a sexual way.
I'm not so sure he needs a proper program. I feel like maybe you just go ahead and let him keep living out these life long dream matches. Not everything in AEW needs to be an epic novel. Hangman was like a 3 year build, same with MJF. Others go on for months and months or years. And those are fine. But it's harder to pull off in this day and age. Most people have the attention span of a gnat.
Eddie puts so much emotion in each promo and each match. He could have a one-off with just about anybody and it would feel like they just got done with a 3 month feud. I'm not so sure how much Eddie emotion is even possible for a regular schmuck like me.
Most of y'all probably aren't old enough to know this but there's epic 3 volume novels and then there's epic Readers Digest short stories that pack like 10 fascinating stories into a 150 page booklet. Neither is necessarily better than the other. Just depends where you are and what you enjoy at that point in your life when you opened that cover page.

I think of it like Stephen King. You can have an entire universe-spanning work like The Dark Tower/The Stand/etc., and you can also have a book of short stories.
And you're right. Not everything has to be an epic. A solid short story works too. See Jade and Nyla. It was a 4 week program that had a beginning, middle, and end. It told a logical story.
Just throwing things together at the last minute, though, can be frustrating.
Also there can be stories with characters that you just don't like.
