I don't believe she lost solely on anything. She lost for multiple reasons.
1. Americans are not comfortable with the idea of a woman President. I don't know if it's just that the 2 specific women who've run have been wildly unpopular, or a broader argument against women, but women can't beat Trump.
2. Latinos voted for Trump at an 18% higher clip than they did in 2020. African Americans voted for Trump at a 4% higher clip than they did in 2020. Border security and crime mattered more than people thought.
3. Trump outperformed his 2020 performance by more than 3% in over 1,000 counties across the country. Kamala did not outperform Biden's 2020 performance by more than 3% in any county in America.
4. Kamala got tagged for being too close to Biden, and she didn't do enough to distance herself from him.
5. And yes, there are racists who won't vote for an African American.

I think the biggest takeaway for the Democrats is that they can never run a ticket with anything other than a straight white male at the top. There will never be another Obama or anything close.
And as much as it pains me to say it, I can't imagine that there will ever be a female President in this country.

I think the biggest takeaway for the Democrats is that they can never run a ticket with anything other than a straight white male at the top. There will never be another Obama or anything close. And as much as it pains me to say it, I can't imagine that there will ever be a female President in this country. I will say I respect your opinion, but disagree with it wholeheartedly. |

I know several low information voters who were celebrating on FB as if their favorite team won a championship. They have no idea what they voted for. They're just happy their guy won. |

Trump had 4 years to deal with the border. How'd that go? How much of that wall got built, like 100 yards? And 50 yards of it fell down in the first 40 mph winds. Our economy is literally #1 in the world right now. The price of things is due to corporate price gouging across the globe since Covid. Not anything the Dems did. I do think abortion messaging could've been a bit better. Something like a total abortion ban allows a rapist to choose the mother of his child. I also would like someone to bring up that abortion shouldn't be a form of birth control. I'm 100% in favor of a woman's right to her own reproductive health but would love for someone to stress/educate the part about how it shouldn't be a form of birth control. I'm not sure there's a low information politician. It's called lying in their case. And that should be expected. So I still place more of the onus on the low information voter. |
