It's a huge mistake by Nascar.
I love Nascar, love Jimmie Johnson, but I'll still be flipping over to the Packers game as soon as it starts.
Why don't they just do a Thurs(Trucks), Fri(Nationwide), Sat(SprintCup) schedule during the NFL season?
Or just run trucks and Nationwide at separate tracks on Friday nights, and then the big boys on Saturday.
I don't get it.

Pride.
No one wants to be seen as conceding Sunday to the NFL.

I think the Chase is a horrible format to begin with. You have made 31 cars irrelevant and you have made winning irrelevant. There was something cool about clinching at Phoenix and then going for a victory ride at a track no one likes. Just make wins worth a shit ton of points and go with the old format. The Knaus era has been a horrible era.
It should be a Th/F/Sat format. They should make the th/f relevant as well. They do a god awful job marketing and building up the truck and nationwide drivers.

The Knaus era has been glorious but I do agree on the truck/Nationwide thoughts.
I've really never met somebody who liked Nascar but didn't like football. It's silly to go up against such a juggernaut in-season.

They are running the last truck race of the season right now.
