Can Chris Hero Save Wrestling? is starting tomorrow.
I could hear Hero talk wrestling for days, but am a little bummed it's another fucking Conrad hosted one. Can literally anyone else host a wrestling pod? Hell give me Hero and Rob Naylor.
I like Conrad, but it's overkill.

I'm over Conrad and his tropes. I listened to most of his shows between 2017 and 2019 but it was enough already. Haven't listened to any Conrad podcasts in over a year.

Wait, Hero's show is apparently only available on Conrad's whole Patreon thing? AdsFreeShows or whatever?
Fuck that noise. Love you Hero, but I'm not doing that crap.

With all due respect to Conrad, if you're a well-known wrestling personality it makes no sense to go through him for your podcast.
I understand he does a lot of the legwork many of them aren't willing to do, but if you're a high profile wrestler, you might as well run the podcast yourself and pocket most of the money. Jericho and Stone Cold always had the right idea.

Definitely disagree on the Conrad part. Bischoff and Bruce did podcasts in the past that didn't draw. JR's was successful but he chose to switch. Tony? Arn? Those guys are all making more with Conrad than they could solo. The defense rests.

I'm glad those guys are getting paid and what not, but it's overkill with Conrad as the co host. He can run the show and be the boss but not be the second mic, if that makes sense.
I get burned out on Conrad as much as I did Bruce, Tony or Bischoff, which is why I cut back substantially on wrestling podcasts.

Conrad is obviously successful. He just wears on you after a while.

Hero’s first two eps are up free on Conrad’s patreon site. I’m halfway through the first ep.
Conrad has talked maybe 5 minutes out of the first 75 minutes? He asks questions and Hero talks & tells cool stories.
This is the stuff I want. Give it a listen if you want. Hero is one of the best minds in wrestling.

Listening to Hero talk about wrestling is like listening to an actor talk about acting. This could take some getting used to.

Moxley is on Renee’s show again. Talking about settling down and how she was the one.
“I figured I’d just be a solo act & enjoy time with many great women. But it was a round peg in a square hole. Whereas your hole, goes right in.”

Renee put up the full video ep of her Valentine's Special with Moxley where they give love advice. Someone asked about what's the best meal to eat before banging. They said bang it out before the meal. But then this gem happened...
Renee: If you want to take it to pound town, make some squid ink pasta. That is sexy as all hell, right? Mox: Yeah, it was the squid ink pasta that got me in the right head space. You think the guy gives a shit about the meal? I'm trying to focus at the task at hand.
This sounds creepy, but I could listen to Mox & Renee talk to each other for hours. The video element of this episode makes it even funnier.

I can't put over Bischoff's WCW Greed 2001 podcast enough. Drops tomorrow on the free feed.
I know about the Meltzer stuff, etc. Try to get around it. Along with the Greed discussion, they go heavy on AEW talk. It's incredible.
Also, it took four stops the first time I watched Part 1 of the Crockett interview. The second part is out today.

I'll check out the Greed episode. Haven't listened to Bischoff in a year, but I know there was a lot going on behind the scenes of that show.
Greed was a fairly solid final PPV from what I remember.

Lisa Ann is the guest this week on Renee’s podcast
I’m going to go ahead and act like I’ve never heard of her before.

Listening to Red Ass JR talk about Wrestlemania 17. Boy there are some kids in AEW that piss him off to no end, I'm dying to have names.

Seems like the Steve Austin Show is no more.
Thats a shame. I enjoyed those podcasts early on.

I'm pretty sure Austin's show is what got me into podcasting. Those were appointment shows back in the day. The unintentional comedy of how good and terrible he was at reads made commercials tolerable.

Bischoff: Google the internet
Conrad: Did you just say Google the internet?
Bischoff: I guess I did.
Conrad: Welcome to Grilling JR folks.

What made Steve’s show so good is his ability to sound like he really was having a conversation with the listener. Can you even somehow go back and download the old ones? Same with DropIn. This is how I got into wrestling podcasts. Kept hoping for his return. Went a little downhill when they put a censor on him.

Conrad now doing a podcast with Jeff Jarrett? How can he keep doing all of this? One has to think he really doesn't do anything at all with his mortgage company anymore...
WILL YOU STOP?!

I don't trust Jarrett to be straightforward about his many creative fuck-ups in TNA. Triple H's reign of terror ain't got nothing on Jarrett's shenanigans from '03 to '06.
I'll defer to you guys.

That TNA run was brutal. Literally everyone they lined up, Jarrett beat with a red bump, belt shot, guitar shot, Stroke. It wasn’t even good heat either, it was fuck off heat.

The Monty Brown situation was especially awful. Here's a guy who got himself over and became one of the breakout stars of the company, but gets pushed aside for WWE guys like Rhino and Christian. Damn shame.

Someone asked why Jason Jordan wasn't sitting with the rest of Kurt Angle's family at his Hall of Fame induction. I don't know why but I popped.

Someone asked Eric about creating a face Heenan Family to go up against the NWO in 97 and now I can't think of anything else.

Someone asked Eric about creating a face Heenan Family to go up against the NWO in 97 and now I can't think of anything else. That is a disturbing thought. I do think they missed an opportunity by not having Heenan join the nWo though. Heenan being pro-WCW and having to cheer for the babyfaces just never worked for him. Heenan as the lone nWo guy broadcasting with Schiavone and Tenay would have been fantastic and probably would have helped him stay motivated. He pretty much stopped giving a shit in 1997 and his commentary suffered for it.
