This fucking show gets me each and every time. It's a reality show, so there's obviously a script. But there's something about it that's compelling.

I just watched the Hooters episode. Even if you can tell the CEO is a douche, usually you can see leadership skills. Or genuine care. This was so awful. It was also from 2010. The family sold the company soon after. If that guy was a CEO, I'm a socialist that was born in Kenya.
I'm done talking to myself about Undercover Boss now.

I like the Boston Market one, where one employee tells the female CEO (under cover) how much he HATES customers. What whiny pain in the necks they are and she sends him home and he's terminated. Too often they have someone that is awful at his/her job and violates corporate policy, yet they decide to re-train the employee. Have some balls and fire the bastage.

I agree in some cases, like the one referenced. However, I like when the boss realizes the system sucks.

Yeah, I remember I saw an episode where guys doing service work did not have a GPS in their vehicle, or places where employees (girls) were pissing into a coffee can, because they couldn't take time to stop at a bathroom on their delivery runs. All kinds of stuff that seemed like they were simple to correct. I think mostly, they do it for the publicity it gets for them. You have to believe the show is probably giving them the money they give to the employees at the end of the show. The show gets cheap programming, the company gets free advertising and a few employees get some cash...win/win/win
