News and Notes
Feel free to send in suggestions, storylines, feuds. Only rules are once a wrestler has passed away in real life, they are not active. No coming back from the dead or defying the odds. Otherwise, regardless of injuries or health wrestlers can be active (example, Andre the Giant until death). All wrestlers, if active in a major promotion, are legal to be used. This means we can essentially steal any WCW guy at any point. It is entirely possible I'll be the only one paying attention to this thread. Hopefully KS keeps it here. Commentary, Heenan, Gorilla, are all encouraged to drop lines and rip this entire thing. Most will post results. I'm not going to get into actually writing, though the Speeps of the world can certainly do so if he wants. There is also a randomness to interference and other things from the video game that I'm going to allow to play out.
Current Shows: Monday Night Raw shown weekly on Monday Nights. Saturday Night Main Event will be brought back as a semi-regular show, and used almost as a minor PPV. PPVs currently are Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring, Summerslam, and Survivor Series. Can potentially be coaxed into introducing other events.

Expect some new, young talent to shine over the next 6-8 months. WWF higher ups have been extremely pleased with the work of Scott Hall over the last month. There are concerns The Narcissist gimmick isn't getting over with the fans and now that the program with Mr. Perfect has ended, there's a chance they may scrap it after the next pay-per-view event. Jack Tunney is expected to make an announcement on Saturday Night's Main Event about a new pay-per-view set to debut in June with a tournament style gimmick at the center of the event.

Is this all being booked via a video game and then it plays out? Like GM mode in Madden?

I would redo the territory with Scott Steiner getting the Diesel push. I get the Diesel push. I don't understand what you mean by redo the territory. Scott Steiner replaces Diesel. Slow break with Rick. Tag title loss at Summer Slam. Tension teased at Survivor Series. He eliminates Rick, and about twelve other people at the Rumble. They end up NOT breaking up, and Rick neutralizes Mr. Fuji for Scott to defeat Yokozuna for the title at Mania.

Saturday Night's Main EventSaturday, May 1, 1993 MATCH 1: Non-title Match, The Natural Disasters vs. Money Inc. (c) Good chain wrestling, good signature spots, Money Inc win by clean pinfall (8:46) MATCH 2: Virgil vs. Bam Bam BigelowBam Bam continues his hot streak and makes easy work of Virgil finishing him off with a military press slam for a pinfall finish (3:23) Cut to video of Jack Tunney for his announcement about a new pay-per-view event. Tunney explains that with so much talent currently in the federation right now, that they need to find a better way of who deserves the next title shot. Therefore, the WWF will host the first King of the Ring PPV event. While the WWF has hosted this tournament before, Tunney explains its a first for their ppv audience. It will consist of qualifier matches on WWF RAW, with the 8 finalists keeping on the PPV. Also, with this new PPV Hulk Hogan will now defend his WWF Title at King of the Ring, not Summerslam as previously thought. MATCH 3: Rick The Model Martel vs. Mr. PerfectMr. Perfect with a Perfectplex pinfall finish (5:22) MATCH 4: Crush vs. Razor RamonGood chemistry between the two. Crowd is starting to cheer for Razor Ramon. No tease for a face turn yet. Razor wins with the Razor's Edge for a pinfall finish (8:58). MATCH 5: Triple Threat Intercontinental Title Match, Tatanka vs The Narcissist Lex Luger w/Bobby The Brain Heenan vs. Shawn Michaels (c)Easily the match of the night up to this point. HBK starts the match watching Tatanka and Luger. Eventually gets bumped by Luger and then the match really took off. Tons of near pinfalls by all competitors. HBK thrown out of the ring by Luger. Tatanka hits a Renegade Drop. Heenan tried to distract the ref for Luger while Tatanka goes for a pinfall finish. Out comes a tall man in shades, black vest and a shirt with the word Diesel on it. He goes into the ring, jack knife powerbombs Tatanka, Luger gets up and gets a hard right hand to the chin as well. The mystery man throws HBK into the ring and walks away. Heenan is furious trying to get the ref to pay attention to the ring while the mystery man was in the ring when he previously had asked for his attention. HBK taps ref shoulders, pins both Tatanka and Luger simultaneously for the pinfall finish (12:01). MATCH 6: Undertaker w/Paul Bearer vs. King Kong Bundy w. Bobby The Brain HeenanUndertaker makes fairly quick work out of Bundy. Heenan has a temper tantrum as noth his guys have lost tonight. Chokeslam for pinfall finish (4:38) Mean Gene Okerlund talks with Hogan before the Main Event of the night. He asks Hogan who will be his tag partner. Hogan says everyone will see when he comes out right before the match. MAIN EVENT: Big John Studd & Yokuzuna w/Mr. Fuji vs. Hulk Hogan & Bret The Hitman HartStudd, Yokuzuna and Mr. Fuji come out together first. Then Hulk Hogan is introduced. The Fink ask his tag partner to come out, but no one is coming. Just as the referee says the match needs to start, Bret The Hitman Hart's music hits. Hogan's mystery partner is Hart who no one has seen since Wrestlemania. The team of Hogan and Hart proved to be too much. Hogan bounces off the ropes for his leg drop finish, but Hart tags him out. Hogan drops the leg on Yokozuna and realizes he isn't the legal man. Hart applies the Sharpshooter for the submission finish (8:25). Hart celebrates and extends his hand to Hogan for a handshake. Hogan looks at his hand, reluctantly shakes it and they both celebrate the win. - End Show -

Mean Gene's News & Notes from Sunday, May 2, 1993 Current Card for King of the Ring - Sunday, June 13, 1993
WWF Title Match - Yokozuna vs. Hulk Hogan (c) Mean Gene's Rumors and Dirt Sheets
WWF higher-ups changed their minds on the main event match the day of SNME. Supposed to be the Triple Threat Intercontinental Title match, concerns loomed that the TV audience would drop after the Hogan match and the return of Bret Hart. The Steiners were supposed to wrestle The Twin Towers for the #1 contendship to the tag titles, but Rick Steiner developed a minor groin injury and couldn't go Saturday night. The match was scrapped and replaced with Rick Martel and Mr. Perfect. Rick may be able to go as soon as this Monday. Virgil's days could be numbered. He hasn't been over since his feud with Ted DiBiase a couple years ago. At this point, he continues to put other talent over. Look for Bobby The Brain Heenan to scrap the members of his current stable and start over. Word has it Bam Bam Bigelow could be his centerpiece in the new stable. Bigelow has the size the WWF likes and brings the agility and speed no other current worker over 350 lbs can bring. Heenan could be the mouthpiece for the 31-year-old talent and push him into a main event position by the end of the year.

MONDAY NIGHT RAWMonday, May 3, 1993 The show opens with Vince McMahon in the ring with Shawn Michaels and his new bodyguard. McMahon asks who this protecter of HBK is. Shawn says he simply goes by the name Diesel and the two of them will not be stopped by anyone in the Federation. Out comes Tatanka who says HBK can't fight his own fights. Lex Luger comes out and says tonight he and Tatanka have been granted a match against Shawn Michaels and the man he calls Diesel. That will be tonight's main event. QUALIFIER KOTR MATCH - Mr. Perfect vs. Doink The ClownMr. Perfect laughs at his competition as Doink comes out to the ring. The two put on a quality match with a few near pinfalls. Mr. Perfect continues his great run as of late with a Perfectplex pinfall finish (6:22) Marty Jannetty vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
Jannetty wins in an ugly match. Pinfall finish (4:52) #1 Contendership for the WWF Tag Team Titles - The Steiner Brothers vs. The Twin TowersSurprisingly the crowd was pretty dead for the first four minutes in this match. Rick Steiner actually got the crowd going. Steiners win barely on a three count finish as Akeem broke up the pin right at three. Could see this match happening again before King of the Ring (6:55) QUALIFIER KOTR MATCH - Tito Santana vs. Razor RamonRamon got the early edge. Santana kicked out on numerous near falls much to Ramon's displeasure. Ramon took Santana to the outside and smashed him up against steel stairs and railing. He brought Santana back into the ring for a second Razor's Edge to get the win. Still getting quite a few cheers from the crowd. The plan is to keep him heel and yet still strong by at least Wrestlemania X, but it may not be possible. (7:11) MAIN EVENT - Tatanka & Lex Luger vs. Shawn Michaels & Diesel Questionable booking as Tatanka and Luger get the win over HBK and Diesel. Crowd was hot throughout the match, and if anything it sent the live crowd home happy. (8:02)

MONDAY NIGHT RAWMonday, May 10, 1993The Steiner Brothers vs. The Twin TowersThe Steiners agreed to a rematch after barely getting by the Twin Towers last week. Good back and forth. Match ends in a DQ win FOR Twin Towers as Scott Steiner refused to leave the ring to help Rick after Bossman popped him with a foreign object when ref wasn't looking. (7:56) Money Inc. (c) vs Virgil and Brutus Beefcake (non-title match)With Virgil running out of steam, the WWF bookers attempt to get him some cheap fanfare with the return of Brutus The Barber Beefcake. They'll be feeling out if there is a tag team here in the making. Money Inc. gets another tuneup as they get ready for their WWF Tag Title Championship match at King of the Ring. IRS gets the pin on Virgil. Surprisingly some decent chemistry for Virgil and Beefcake. (5:02) KOTR Qualifier Match - Bam Bam Bigelow vs. CrushBam Bam Bigelow displays incredible strength and athleticism for his size yet again. Gets the pin on Crush who has been on a terrible losing streak. Bigelow continues to attack Crush after pin. Bigelow moes on to the KOTR PPV tournament. KOTR Qualifier Match - Rick Martel vs. Tatanka
Tatanka picks up the win in a fairly short amount of time. Tatanka continues to be very over with the crowd. (4:14) Owen Hart w/Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna w/Mr. FujiGood action between Owen and Yokozuna. Owen continues to show he's a great worker in the ring. He has to continue to develop himself as a character. Yokozuna is counted out after going after Bret Hart and attacking him. Owen comes to help after he is declared winner. Big John Stud comes out and helps out Yokozuna. The Harts are getting pummeled. Out comes Hogan to make a save and chase off Yokozuna, Stud, and Mr. Fuji. Good night all...

Monday Night RawMay 17, 1993KOTR Qualifier: Typhoon w/Earthquake vs. Big John Studd w/Mr. FujiBig John Studd wins on a bearhug submission. Decent match actually for two big guys. Mr. Fuji faked getting hit by a foreign object to get Earthquake kicked out of the area. (5:11) The Kid vs. Razor RamonRazor Ramon talks about tuning up as King of the Ring is less than a month away. Tonight he faces The Kid who is looking for a WWF contract with a win tonight. With Ramon on a absolute tear since Mania this seemed impossible. Ramon pushed Kid around the ring with ease. However he may have gotten over confident. The Kid uses his aerial ability to shock Razor Ramon and get the flash pinfall win. (4:03) Jack Tunney has informed the broadcast team that Shawn Michaels will defend his Intercontinental tonight against Marty Jannetty. The idea of making it an impromptu match was decided upon as a form of punishment from Shawn Nichaels and Diesel's antics over the last few weeks. Also Tunney comfirmed rumors that Mr. Perfect has walked away from his contract in an on-going contract dispute regarding language. Dirt sheets have said that Perfect's back has been acting up again, but he hasn't wanted to confirm that to keep away from a reputation of being a guy who is broken down. Tunney kept the language to contract dispute. With that information, they will need to replace Mr. Perfect in the KOTR. Intercontinental Championship Match: Marty Jannetty vs. Shawn Michaels (c) w/DieselShawn Michaels catches Jannetty with Sweet Chin Music as Jannetty turns around from a back and forth argument with Diesel. Michaels goes for the pin, but Jannetty kicks out at 2 and a half. Some good spots here, but Michaels is too much and gets the win. (7:41)

WCW Just had their Slamboree PPV. Below are the results. Anyone else jacked about a Meng vs Flair WCW Title Match? Cactus Jack wins the vacant US Title. Previously held by Austin and Pillman who were fired. I'm running WWF. Of course I have them signed and ready to roll.

Meng should win the title after Heenan hits Flair with brass knuckles. Then he reforms the Heenan Family.
Or Meng wins and becomes the Taskmaster and the leader of the Dungeon of Doom.

Haha, I have no control over WCW, just WWF. I'm thinking of making the board members Road Agents. Maybe you all can have one feud and we can see which one gets rated the best. I'm sure that is intriguing to someone, right? Ha

Just Yokozuna's sidekick at this point. Not for sure how this will end up. Maybe face turn at a PPV down the road and a showdown match with Yokozuna and off into the sunset he goes?
