Mike McCarthy is not looking to make major changes to his coaching staff. While the Green Bay Packers coach wouldn't announce anything official at his year-end news conference Wednesday, defensive coordinator Dom Capers' job appears to be safe.
"Dom Capers is an outstanding football coach," McCarthy said with his voice rising. "No one will be evaluated today. We'll go though this just like last year; you guys did this to me last year.
"I'm not going into this thing looking to make big changes, but I'll tell you one thing. When I go though this process, there's things you really like about your program. ... I think Dom Capers is an outstanding football coach and I'm glad he's on our staff."
We're not sure why McCarthy couldn't just say that Capers would be back, but he was clear enough with his intentions. McCarthy isn't looking to make big changes, and removing Capers would be the biggest change possible. Capers' defense dealt with a ton of injuries all season, but it underperformed, especially in the secondary.
McCarthy also made it clear obvious he has no issues with his offense.
"I felt this was going to be the best offense we ever had here. I thought we were going to go past 2011," McCarthy said.
To close out the session, McCarthy was asked if his offense can now win in any conditions.
"Hell yeah. Don't you think so?" McCarthy said before referencing the vastly improved running game. "I'd put our offense up against anybody's."

MM has really turned into a fucking idiot with success. He refuses to answer any questions or make any changes. He takes zero blame. I hope someone tried to grill the shit out of him for pulling Lacy (Lacy acknowledged this after the game)and putting in Cobb on that 1st and goal series. He was a dick when someone asked about it after the game and with lacy's comments he needs to be grilled again and admit he put in a shitty play that didnt work.....instead of this bullshit we like our matchup nonsense.

He totally defended the play and said somebody missed a block - if I'm not mistaken.

It was a HORRIBLE play. Big Ed gets yards because he trucks guys that are already there to tackle him. Why in the hell would he think Cobb could do that.

Told you kesh. Sounds exactly how I said it would Sunday:
I wish for it but here's how it'll go: McCarthy: Uh, yea, we're going to assess every aspect of our program.
Month later... McCarthy: We identified some issues and we'll clean them up. Have to take every day at a time and improve.
2 Months later... McCarthy: I can announce we've implemented our new programs and everything is going well. Thanks.

At least he sounded irritated at the injuries and the preparation so maybe lovat is gone
