This is an extremely dangerous thread to be on u less you watch all the tv as soon as it comes out. How do you guys have time for all of this?! I catch up on a lot of TV when I'm working. Having it on in the background and stuff. Except for the big shows, those I'll catch when I have a free hour at night. |

Season 6 of Black Mirror dropped today.
Episode 1 is pretty good. Kind of a digital AI/deepfake gone wrong story that gets pretty funny in the second half.
Episode 2 isn't really a Black Mirror episode as much as it is just a standard mystery/true crime show.

Episode 3 is okay. A little too long. Astronauts go on long missions and can download their consciousness into hosts back on Earth to pass the time.
Episode 4 is another story that isn't really a traditional Black Mirror episode. More of a horror story.
Episode 5 is the same, but it is kind of funny thanks to the performances of the leads.
They really should stop doing these series as it's been pretty bad overall since the move to Netflix.

I watched The Idol on Max on a whim last night.
Holy shit. The guy who makes Euphoria and The Weekend created the show, The Weekend stars with Johnny Depp's daughter.
It's pretty fucked up.

The Bear is back for season 2, and it's arguably better than the first season. There are some real nice character episodes that let the character grow.
Episode 6 is a longer Christmas themed episode, and it is goddamn amazing.

Loved season 2. The Christmas episode was a blow away ep that I didn’t see coming at all. The cameos & music this season were fantastic.
Safe to say there will be a season 3 and this will win more awards.

I should have watched the Bear instead of watching the first 2 episodes of Dead City. It is worse than I imagined. I really hope this just ends with Neegan killing Maggie, she is insufferable.

Safe to say there will be a season 3 and this will win more awards. I watched episode 6 again today and it's just so good. Uncle Lee is so quintessential Chicago. "Throw that fork at me, and I'll rock you!". So well done. And then to follow it up with episode 7, which hits in a totally different way but just as effective. I'm really interested in seeing how next season goes, and what the big conflict will be. |

I won't ruin it for folks who haven't seen it, but it's perfect casting for a Chicagoan.
It felt like this season allowed for other characters outside of Carmy to develop more. Similar to this last season of Ted Lasso (which should have been done prior to the final season).
I again can't stress enough how great the music was for this season too.

Justified City Primeval first 2 episodes were pretty good introducing Raylan and his new environment and characters.
Boyd Holbrook is a great choice for a villain. Timothy Olyphnat's daughter is rough though.

I'm watching the episode of Succession in a church again and there are no words to describe how amazing it is. If they're up for 152 Emmy awards they should win 157.

Samoa Joe as Sweet Tooth in the Twisted Metal series is really good. That whole season surpassed anything I could have imagined for it. It was awesome. Just fun and entertaining the entire time. Kudos to everyone involved who made that happen. |

I agree 100% Twisted Metal is way more fun and entertaining than it has any right to be.
Fun cast, ridiculously campy, I love it.
Mackie is great, Rosa from Brooklyn Nine Nine is hot, Samoa Joe absolutely crushed it (even if it is Will Arnett’s voice), Thomas Hayden Church I’m sure makes RJ City proud being a Wings fan and fucking Mike Mitchell from the Doughboys is great as the bumbling buddy of Sweet Tooth
I have 3 episodes left.

Finally decided to watch Succession. Holy shit. This show is absolutely riveting and I am so glad I waited because being able to binge all the depravity quickly has been incredibly entertaining. I am halfway through season 3 and the amount of backstabbing and doublecrossing is just off the charts. yet it all works. Fantastic writing. I think this thread had some posts on it awhile back which I purposely avoided, I can't wait to go back and read them after I finish.

Finished Succession. Did not love the landing. I don't understand why Shiv did what she did - makes no sense. There was some real logic leaps of faith too that last season. Overall I enjoyed it just wish the ending was a bit more satisfying.

At that point, she just didn't want him to win. I think that totally tracks with her character. At least with Tom, she will have some input.

I just didn't see it - seemed out of character of how no matter what, the 3 siblings always stuck together. |

But what did she win? And she lost all power as she has nothing to do with the company anymore. She is definitely a sociopath and chaos lover. She made so many bad moves throughout - I was surprised Logan didn't just cut her out after her first outburst on taking over the company.
