I'm not reading your posts yet. But I again realized something. I've never been so fixated on the screen. The Wire, but that was a DVD. I'm just gazing at the television as this goes down. By the way, "It's about to go down. I'm yelling timber."

I fucking love, hate, love, hate, hate, hate, and respect Woody Harleson.

I'm still not reading any posts. Yes, I got sidetracked.

I marked out.

I don't do HBO. Put it on netflix already. They'll never put it on NetFlix. HBO will keep it only with them so people have a reason to subscribe. Episode 7 preview is nuts. I won't reveal anything but fuck this is going to get even better. I'm going to watch it again, but this was the lowest rated in my mind. But holy shit is this the goods. Woody's new side. I've never been a fan of the actress that plays Harleson's wife. But she's looked incredible on this show. Tonight obviously put her in a new light. I can't wait for next Sunday.

I thought episode was riveting. The tension between Cole and Marty was palpable. The last two episodes are going to be insane. Although I retract my earlier statement about more Lovecraftian turn. I guess Nyarlathotep won't be showing up after all. Bummer.

I'm cracking up at the response of mostly women about the "romance" scene. Every woman with a dream scenario of hooking up with Matthew McConaughey is saying "two minutes and I'm out the door?!" He really did us a solid with that scene.

I'm gonna be let down by next week.
Rust and Marty back together again was great and the scene with the old lady was very telling.
The Lawnmower Man has been around for a long time...

I agree with all of these thoughts. It makes me think Lawnmower Man is a patsy. I prepared myself for being letdown next week the second the episode ended. But I'm holding out hope. This isn't WWE creative.

Each season of the show was going to be separate anyway. McConaughey not returning isn't a big deal in terms of this story.

I had a discussion with my friend last night about season two. If they don't already have people lined up, don't they need huge stars at the top every year? I would also think they will have people lined up to do it.

I'm good with the ending. Although I couldn't make out what Rust said at the very end - rewound it 4 times and I couldn't make it out. Need to let it sink in a bit but I thought it was well done.

The first 5 episodes were miles better than the last 3.

I've had quite a weekend. It will unfortunately stop soon, but I'm OK with the ending. I see this crew returning in season four, or three. HBO execs and their pressure.

As I said, none of the guys were returning for season 2 so it was no big deal. After some reflection, I wish I wasn't so quick to be fooled into believing that this show would be different from a typical police drama. The formula for making a show a success is obviously to throw a bunch of weird stuff in at the beginning and then tell the viewer that none of it really mattered in the end. At least this didn't go on for 6 seasons and the producer didn't tell you that you would be rewarded for paying attention to easter eggs like Lost did.

I'm going to modify my review of the finale. It still doesn't upset me like many people. But I haven't seen many criticisms I disagree with right now. If that makes sense.

Alot of loose ends, but I also think the internet went too deep into it. Surprising. I personally was hoping for a more macabre and Lovecraftian second half of the season, but even though that didn't happen I am good with how it ended. You knew they were never going to crack the Tuttle reach - the entire arc kept saying how they owned the coast. Not even the A-Team could have cracked their cult in the last hour episode.

Season 2 starts tonight.
I'll watch because there's nothing else on Sunday nights. But I'm not too sure about it.
