Becky winning the NXT Women’s Title last night did its job and got the highest rating in years for NXT. 820,000.
I like the idea of main roster folks showing up to do programs there, but at a certain point, you’re going to have to have the “minor leaguers” beat the established names. Dom is one thing with the N/A title, but it’ll be interesting to see who Becky drops the belt to.

Watched the full thing. My thoughts.
Bron & Corbin was fine. Finish was stupid with Mr Stone interfering leading to Corbin winning.
Trick winning the title was unexpected but I assume it’ll lead to Melo turning on him since he doesn’t have a title anymore
4 way tag was a clusterfuck. Garza & Carrillo have American Wolves chest tattoos now and it’s kind of hilarious even though it’s not supposed to be
Dar & Pete Dunne could’ve been great had it not been for 87 people constantly interfering. I enjoyed 75% of it with the other 25% fucking hated.
Melo & Dragunov could be Match of the Year. I’m talking main roster and NXT. It was phenomenal and I recommend it to everyone. Both dudes are stars and it should’ve been the main event.
Becky & Stratton had its great moments, but silly ass ones too, which shouldn’t be in your main event. Throwing Barbie dolls and acting like they’re violent weapons? Seriously? I know Stratton is Barbie or whatever, but that was lame. Stratton will be a star, but this match looked more clumsy than awesome. Though I’ve read people really enjoyed it.

They’re having Cena corner Carmelo Hayes against Bron Breaker next Tuesday. Also Cody will have “a major announcement” on the show (Dusty Classic one assumes). Also Asuka vs Roxanne.
Shockingly on the same night Dynamite is on Tuesday for one week due to MLB Playoffs

I’m happy more people will presumably be watching wrestling in general next week.
I just wish they’d make their shows feel more important more than one week and not just because the other company is on against them.
Same goes for AEW. You shouldn’t need to have a gimmick because you’re shifting nights for a week.

That’s true. Becky & Judgment Day have boosted ratings. Ironically enough the one who didn’t was when Rollins showed up.
I would not be surprised if Bucks/FTR happened next Tuesday. Tony needs to promote the fuck out of the night change tomorrow. Edge in ring debut and Saraya vs Shida is what is announced so far. They need quite a bit more.
I’ll actually DVR NXT next week though.

Paul Heyman will corner Bron next week. Love it. This needs to be parlayed into the main roster. Bron’s biggest weakness is promos. You pair him with Heyman as a “side project” to the Bloodline and over time, he could become a main event threat to Roman (if he’s still champion or not) by association with Paul. |

If you bring Jade in, you have to assume she goes over, so have her beat Becky for the NXT title? Or you have her go and beat Rhea? (Io doesn’t make sense to me).
But instead Rhea is feuding with…checks papers…Nia Jax.
I’d wait on Jade until Survivor Series or whenever Rhea is free.
Unless you maybe have Jade come in and be with Lashley and crew? Then the Io thing would make sense on Smackdown.

What if Ford lobbies for Bianca to be brought into Lashley’s crew, but Lashley, let down by the Profits recent losses and lack of aggressiveness, doesn’t take that suggestion into consideration and has his own female recruit into the Hurt Business, Jade.
Jade vs Bianca is the first feud.
Bianca will be over regardless of putting over Jade in her first feud. And you establish a strong female force similar to Rhea on Smackdown.

That will never happen because she’s not a “homegrown” WWE star, but if you want to make her a star, then you treat her like one.

Brian Pillman Jr’s name in NXT is expected to be Lexis King
While initially I thought the name was terrible, his sister was named Alexis and King was his mothers last name after she remarried.
I completely respect tributes to family for names, but man Lexis King is going to be a tough one. Dumb WWE and their “everyone needs a name we can trademark”. Just be Brian Pillman Jr.

They’ve already announced first 30 mins commercial free, bringing in Taker, Cena, Cody, Asuka, Brawling Brutes, presumably Dom (maybe Judgment Day)
At this point, just have Jade issue the challenge to Becky tonight for tomorrow and do the switch then.
Wild how much they’re throwing out there against a promotion they don’t view as competition.

Oh for sure, Tony has to load up as well, new night (even if it’s for one week), I get it.
It’s just after this week, I hope both company’s treat their shows with more importance and not just a one week ratings grab throwing everything they got.
Best thing WWE has learned finally is utilizing your main roster to bolster your developmental. It’s baffling it’s taken them this long.
And I mean the use of Dom, Rhea, Judgment Day, Becky, not tomorrow with Cena/Taker/Cody, all of whom are on there just to get a one week boost.

Yeah for the longest time, it was seen as a demotion. But it's a good way to give back, get more eyeballs on the product, and eventually get those younger talent over.

The one bad thing about NXT loading up so much with mega stars (even though none are wrestling) is that they’re going to presumably beat AEW, right? Maybe slaughter them, who knows.
But it will be because of Cena, Taker, Cody, Asuka, etc. It should hopefully be parlayed into the NXT talent there the following week and should make people want to tune in when the aforementioned talent isn’t there.
Use this as a catalyst to draw more viewers consistently and not just get one week of a “win” over AEW, who immediately goes back to Wednesday next week.
