Is that 4.5 million number accurate? No. Still under a million at last official count.

Is that 4.5 million number accurate? No. Still under a million at last official count. Not even close. Haha. Vince is just promoting it to his dad on his birthday, pal. It does baffle me how they aren't around 1.5 million at this point. Seriously.

OK I was about to say "why is everyone shitting on network numbers?? That sounds like a fantastic number!"
Although it surprises me with the value that it isn't over a million yet

Although it surprises me with the value that it isn't over a million yet It's one of the most confusing things I've seen in quite a while. I'm not alone. Most outside "experts" look at the size of the fan base, the value, etc. and believe they should be around my number. 1.5 million. What sucks is it will probably go down when the six month renewals start. I just don't get it.

Why do Cena and Sheamus have to have necks of steel??

Santino was talking about retiring soon anyway. His MMA gym is supposedly very successful.

I will not apologize for finding Santino funny. Not necessarily the bits he's placed in, but the dude is a natural comedian. Seems like he's going to be just fine.

He ran with what was given to him and had success.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that Swagger had something to do with Santino's latest injury. And possibly the first two as well.

Sorry I would've commented sooner, but I was doing the Santino air trombone celebration. While I don't want to ever see a wrestle suffer an injury, let alone a 3rd neck injury, I'm happy we won't have to see guys job to the fucking Cobra anymore.
Heel Santino was hilarious, then he ran his face character into the friggin ground. He & Beth and a few things with Kozlov was funny, but everything after that was brutal.
I guarantee he sticks around to do backstage stuff & they'll use him to pimp products. Hopefully this means Emma is free (pun intended) from being her boyfrien & having to do 30 second mixed tags.

It makes me wonder if his years long suck fest goes hand in hand with hollywood writers taking over. Because I do remember chuckling at him for about 2-3 years or so.

The stuff he did with Maria not wanting her to do Playboy & then the Glammarella stuff was hysterical. I mean he punched Jerry Lawler in the face on commentary & stole his Subway sandwich yelling "Haha I Win!" for some reason that's hilarious.
He peaked with the Honk-a-Meter

Kind of thinking of Santino, Hornswoggle, Eugene, Eric Young etc..... got me thinking. Does wrestling really need slapstick humor? I don't know the answer to that. My memory is shitty beyond belief (stay out of your garages people) but for the life of me, I don't remember AWA, WCCW, or whatever Windy City was called back in the Bruiser days, EVER doing any comedy type spots. And I mean ever. Or at least slapsticky ones.
Even as a kid, that's why I always discounted the WWF. Though their presence was scarce in Wisconsin during the early days, somehow, someway I realized that I hated Doink the fucking Clown and all that other nonsense.
He's probably a bad example. There were countless others that came before him earlier.
But my point is that I think the E just conditioned us to what I mostly call "nonsense".
I also didn't see much of NWA in my yute but from the little I know, they didn't do 'nonsense' either.
I also didn't see a lot of ECW but I don't believe they were known for slapstick either.
So as far as I can tell, it's pretty much all on the E and I'm asking whether it's good, necessary, or bad?

ECW had the Meanie & Stevie as their comedy guys, that all led to the BWO, but prior to that, as Ravens lackeys, they did primarily funny bits.
Nowadays, you have Colt Cabana is a friggin master at it. He is incredibly entertaining to see live. Although he mixes it in, he's not just goofball 100% of the time, he puts on great matches. Unlike Santino who came out, did his shtick & that was it, same old same old. Cabana switches it up, which I like.
Chikara would be the one promotion who uses comedy a lot, or used to. YouTube Dragon Dragon if you haven't.
I think since the WWE is PG oriented now, it's good to have some comedy, unfortunately what they think is funny & what I find funny are completely different, which results in me shaking my head, embarrassed I'm watching it. Cabana/Chikara humor is entertaining. Santino cobra for the past 6 years, ehh not so much.

There's always been a comedy bit in wrestling. Not just Vince Jr. shows. The difference is how it's presented. As everyone has stated, it's just not their type of humor. But it's not really directed towards us, hence all of the Santino, Hornswoggle, etc. hate.

This headline was misleading, or maybe I just didn't read it properly.
More on WWE Planning a Jerry Lawler & Memphis Wrestling Project
For some reason, I thought they were going to give Lawler something of a territory. It's just a DVD. I understand they want to centralize everything in Orlando and teach them how to work the WWE way. But with eighty some developmental talents signed, what's stopping them from doing what I've been saying for years? Give Lawler a Memphis branch. Someone else gets Philly. Maybe Atlanta. Easy airports, or road trips. Hell, send a bus of workers from Orlando just for the show. Stagger the dates of each local brand. Each place can have some local guys, and the NXT kids can regularly work in front of different crowds. If the thing breaks even, all you're doing is getting them more experience. It doesn't have to be a profit center. Whoever is running the place isn't going to dare cross anyone in WWE. I know Cornette and Heyman pissed people off when they had OVW, but think about who we're discussing. I know in the past this has been my "JR's Rules Campaign" but it makes so much sense.
