Shawne Merriman has apparently signed with WWE and is heading to Florida soon to begin training. News broken by Cole and JBL on their YouTube show earlier. he's Not the first guy to go from NFL to WWE, but where do you guys see him fitting into the company? Will they be able to train him to be a solid enough in-ring worker? And if they can, how long before we see him in an on-screen role?

I doubt we'll ever see him. I believe it's just a shot at Punk.

As a former football player, he clearly knows how to put in time working at something, so I think if he puts his mind to it, he could be a solid performer, but has anybody ever heard him talk about wrestling or seen him at an event other than the pre-show for WM30?
and speaking of 30, Merriman just turned 30 like 2 weeks ago, so his age shouldn't be an issue, he's still younger than a few of the guys down in NXT.

The oddest thing to me about Merriman is that during his feud with Punk he was tweeting out how he wouldn't host the Network if the E didn't put Punk in check. That was in 2012. Was the Network even being talked about in 2012? The whole thing is strange.

Yeah they had announced the Network in like November of 2011 actually. They even advertised Legends House, Countdown, Total Divas, and a couple other shows. But it wasn't the Network we have now, I believe it was intended to be just an actual channel like the NFL or MLB Networks. I was just getting back into wrestling at the time and was really excited but I'm definitely glad they decided to put it off and go the route they did.
