Yeah it's insane what they can do.
They will be WWE bound soon I think.

If you don't watch Being The Elite, you should. This episode Nick Jackson got food poisoning a week ago & couldn't make it to a show, so they try to figure out who did it. They've been having a falling out with Adam Cole recently and think he did it. They proceed to have a PWG style match.......in their hotel room (complete with entrances). What happens after is truly dastardly heel work at it's finest! Marty Scurll is great in this too. Just watch. It's honestly more entertaining than 80% of writing in WWE.

Billy Corgan just bought the NWA. I will now spend all day thinking about Billy Corgan in Straight Outta Compton.

Former wrestler and current Ohio Valley Wrestling trainer Rip Rogers posted the following assessment of indy wrestling matches on Twitter: “Every Indy match now: handshake, drawn out move exchange, this is awesome chant, strike exchange, dive, no sell Indy strongstyle, dive, more strikes, no sells, dive, flippy floppy sequence, dive, hit everyone with each other’s finisher then Humpty Dumpty we all fall down. Fight forever chant, rinse and repeat until every move is useless and means nothing, dive, take unsafe shot that looks like shit and hurts like hell then roll up finish. Hand shake and hug after match. Everyone’s hands raised. All these guys chant. Go home and type on social media thanking your opponents and company for the match and telling others they should book these guys…….. dive.”

Ospreay responded saying he's having fun & making money, so he's happy......dive.
Rip said there's nothing wrong with that & he did stupid shit his age too & later he will get it.
Will questioned "getting it later". Saying he's thankful for his ROH/NJPW contracts and he's learned from people like Regal & have used loads of gems he's given him. But he also listens to the fans & they seem to enjoy it. Said he had so much respect for Rip & hope he didn't take this as being rude
Ricochet responded saying he was trying to think of a witty comeback, but he was on point with that description..........dive.
Rip definitely isn't wrong. But it's that kind of match that separates it from the things you see on TV. Yes it's overdone, but it sells tickets & they're making money.

I purposely posted that without comment. The responses remind me of ECW thoughts. At the same time, I don't know if Rip ever drew a house over 1k on his own.

It's not for everyone, I get that, but it's something I'll always be drawn to. I'm a sucker for high spots.
But you certainly won't get an argument from me that it's complete overkill in many situations.
However, if it's done in the right circumstance & benefits to the story being told, it's amazing.

Not gonna lie. I have a pretty low sense of humor when it comes to wrestling. High spots are one thing though they can obviously be a bit too much if nobody is ever selling. Indy loses me when someone like Joey Ryan is submitting people with his junk.
I don't think guys need to be kayfabe on social media as that's actually rather silly in this day and age if you ask me but I grew up on AWA, Windy City and WCCW. I generally always appreciate a slower match.

I agree, that's ridiculous, but you know what, people buy into it & Joey is making money off of it & I think there's a place for comedy in wrestling, so I'm cool with it.
I can certainly see how someone who grew up on AWA/WCCW are lost or against it though.

Oh Randall. I'd like to think he thought to himself "shit, I have to get this response out there before the phone dies!"
If this was 10 years ago, there'd be a line about him having to take a break to go shit in a Divas bag............headlock.
After reading this I thought, damn, I'd love to pay $8 for flips & superkicks at an indy show then have to spend $120 for a HOUSE SHOW where they have the same matches & finishes every time out.
This whole thing makes me miss indy shows in my town. Haven't been to one in close to 10 years. Last time I went I saw Jerry Lynn & Tyler Black, so money certainly well spent there.

Are people clamoring to see Randy Orton in 2017?
Isn't that like the Colons bragging about being big time stars and drawing money?

Count how many superkicks are in a Kevin Owens or Dolph Ziggler match. Something tells me he wouldn't say that about those guys.
Orton is incredibly reliable. He doesn't get hurt much & doesn't make too many dumb straight to DVD movies. That said, while he's those things, he's also incredibly boring in the ring. I've never in all my years going to WWE events said "Randy Orton is going to be there? Man, I HAVE to be there!"
I go to WWE shows because they're cheap ($15) & the closest wrestling shows that come near my town. It has less to do with who is coming & more with scratching the itch to see live wrestling. Whether it be in an armory or an arena.
Also does Randy not realize that 205 Live tapes after Smackdown? That's 95% their offense. Flips, dives superkicks.

Other wrestlers reactions to the Orton thing has been the most entertaining WWE related thing in the past few weeks if not months, easily.
Bubba Dudley posted a picture of him jumping off the top rope with the caption "Dive..." Which, I don't even think he tagged Orton in.
Randy came back & tweeted "Lol there is a difference between a young hungry talent diving and an old outta shape 'vet'......falling"
Bubba then tweeted "Dear @randyorton...my tweet had ZERO to do with you. Looks like you were wrong...again. You're still awesome. Falling > House of Horrors

You can now buy this in Ospreay's ProWrestlingTees store. Smart man, make as much money off this Orton stuff as possible.

No, but I would certainly recommend it if you're looking into getting familiar with indy wrestling.
I actually don't have a good reason why I don't have it.
I do own a lot of PWG dvds & other Highspots stuff, but there's a lot more offered on it than that.

$9.99 a month apparently. It's been getting pimped out like crazy on my Twitter timeline lately.

It has a ridiculous amount of content. PWG, Shoot Interviews, AAW, UK Wrestling, Womens wrestling, IWA, Highspots Original shows like Best Friends with Chuck & Trent, Hitting the Highspots, An Officer & A Gentleman (Chuck Taylor's show with Dan Berry), 5 Dollar Wrestling (which is absolutely hilarious), The Kevin Steen Show, etc.
If you were ever interested in indy wrestling/PWG/funny stories/shoot interviews, I'd say try it for a month & see.
FloSlam I just saw upped their price from 19.99 to 29.99 a month.

I just discovered the Highspots channel a couple weeks ago. I don't have enough time for all of the available content right now. But I looked at all of the shoots available. Crazy. Well worth the $9.99 per month.

I still don't know what "Dive" means. It's from the Orton tweet criticizing indy matches. That's how he ended his little rant.
You know, Randy Orton, who has been in the WWE since he was 18-19 years old & has never had to work an independent wrestling match.

Is he saying they wrestle in "dive" places. Or is he saying they "dive" through the ropes to the outside all the time? Or just what exactly is he saying?
On a side note, Dijak ripping on Rybak has been fun.

He's saying all they do is dives in matches.
I assume he could also mean dives as in shitty places too, but I don't think Randall was trying for that.
He's just being a dick for the sake of being a dick. I've gotten more annoyed by it the more it's gone on. And the more wrestlers who have grown up in the WWE bubble have criticized independent wrestling.
Not everyone can be so lucky to be born with a famous last name or be jacked like crazy in order to get signed immediately by WWE.
