Michigan st Notre dame Wisconsin Arkansas Clemson Alabama USC The Alabama game was not on our board yesterday. So that goes as a no-play. Nice wishful thinking though.
KS' fade of your Alabama play obviously doesn't count either.

After 35 years in corporate and major non profits, I have a bunch. I have all kinds that I will share, but some of the largest challenges I have had involved females and their emotions.
I gave one woman, a director with a team of about 20, a good performance review, but not the highest rating possible. She started crying. I said that I was sorry she was upset. One of the issues in her performance review was her sometimes inconsistent emotions in dealing with people. I had a number of her managers and staff that had commented about her inconsistencies. After she stopped crying, I pointed out to her that crying was another example of her inability to control her emotions. Big mistake. She jumped up out of her chair, then fell down. By the time I could absorb what was happening and get up to help her up, she jumps up and yells "you insensitive bastard, you weren't even helping me up". She went to my boss,a female CEO, to complain of my insensitive and sexist behavior...that I had no empathy for women. Fortunately, my boss had my back and supported me. So the aggrieved woman went to HR, who stonewalled her and asked me to "fix it". The director left soon afterward.Last I heard, she was on her third job in about six years since then.
I said once to our COO, a female in her late 50s at the time, that I was struggling with some of my female direct reports and their issues. I told her who they were. She laughed and said what did I expect, I have five women going through menopause. She said I was a better man than her to deal with that.

No I bought a 72 degree wedge. For me, taking a mostly full swing from 30-50 yards might be more accurate than pitching with a gap, sand wedge or even a 60. Also, the course I play now has a lot of elevated greens with steep bunkers around them requiring a lot of loft around the greens. The 60 is ok, but we'll find out if the 72 is any better.

Last year in Chicago, I bought a snowblower. I'm sure my old neighbor is using it today.
This year, I got a new shovel. (Okay last time. I won't rub it in any more.)

I play something called Mumbojumbolaya crawfish pie file gumbo. Must be a Cajun team. I think that's the honorable reigning champion's team, but he is starting two guys I drafted and discarded. So that looks like a scrape the barrel team, not a reigning championship team. But I have had to scrape the barrel too. That time of year.

Correct. No difference in risk between hands-free and hand-held. Hands-free may actually contribute to more crashes because if people think they are safer with hands-free and make more calls than they would otherwise, then they have increased their risk exposure.
Hands-free devices are a placebo sold by the tech/phone industries to politicians as a "solution" to the problem that increases revenues for phone companies. It is a scam. The real solution...laws/technology preventing phones from being used in moving vehicles would decrease phone company revenues.

Actually there are more crashes from talking on phones than from texting. I can show you the math if you need it. But here it is in a nutshell -- Texting is more dangerous than talking, but larger numbers talk on phones for much longer periods of time. Anything we do and our likelihood of having an incident are a function of the level of risk and the prevalence/duration of exposure. Texting has higher risk, but lower exposure --today any way. Cell phone conversations are contributing to a comparable number of crashes as alcohol. Texting isn't there yet, but as the amount of time people do it continually increases, it is catching up fast.

I love it. Guys who "work" at an office but post on message boards all day are taking issue with guys who work at home. I now work at home and have greater productivity than when I was in an office. I am no different, but the interruptions are very different. If I want to get up at 5 and work 10 hours, then play golf, I am actually more productive than sitting in an office from 7-5. Same 10 hour day, different outcomes. Old stereotypes die hard.

I will think about you Hawg when I'm playing golf this week. 75 here the rest of the week, but going to be 60 this weekend. I might have to wear a sweater. Maybe you guys can post photos of your yards full of snow. That will help me remember what I'm missing.

KS, my deepest apologies sir for depriving you of 6.3 units on the tally sheet. I had marked your under a L, rather than a W. I was pulling an all-nighter watching college hoops when I did the tally at about 4 am. Obviously, it was not my best work. Fixed now to reflect that you went 1-1, +1.9 last night and not 0-2, -4.4.

Peeps Wins Again
There was some Monday Night fun with three guys in the hunt, but in the end, it was the same old....Peeps wins again. The newly-crowned Vegas Sharp now has a 21 unit lead on the field. Everybody else is playing for second, along with the weekly prizes. Ok, it's not impossible that someone could get really hot and Speeps could catch a cold...but right now, the odds of someone else winning this have to be about 20-1. THe only thing that gives some guys a chance is they still have multi-unit plays to make and hit a few of those big ones and who knows?

Speeps wins his third week and is making the season-long contest a rout. It looks like Speeps is going to get the cake, but there are seven weeks of crumbs left.
We have MACtion again this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Football every night.

Ball State 53 Ohio -9
Wednesday Western Michigan 61 Northern Illinois -3
Central Michigan -10.5 Kent 41.5
Thursday NFL Tennessee Titans 43 Jacksonville Jaguars -3
NCAA East Carolina -15 Central Florida 54.5

24 hours of college hoops....Great game between UVA and GW to kick it off,a west coast heavyweight bout with urah and san diego state, west coast track meet with byu and the beach at 1 am, Nevada-Hawaii at 3 am, Green Bay and ETSU at 5 am, Stephen F Austin HOMEBOYS at Northern Iowa at 7 am, and too many others to mention.
Goodnight to leave espn 2 on all night. Even better if you have some foss riding on the schoolboys.
The shorter shot clock --30 sec -- is leading to higher scoring games. The Bo Ryan boring ball style is on the way out. Teams can't play that style so much, even if they want to.

This is what I was hoping for when I set weekly prizes. Get a few people in the hunt and somebody might unload with multi unit plays to grab the cash. Makes a dull Monday night game interesting. Who else? You have 30 minutes to make a dash for the cash.

I know everybody has injuries but this is getting ridiculous. Two weeks ago, I lose my highest scoring WR for the year. Last week, I lose my highest scoring RB for the yr. This week I lose my highest scoring QB. I know people have lost studs at one or two spots, but 3 in 3 weeks?

I suspect there will be some cat and mouse today. Because this is the first week in which we have had so many multiple options for people, I will allow people to make picks up to 7 pm CT tonight.
Tonight's line: Cincinnati -10.5 Houston 46.5
