"With regards to Charlotte’s main roster WWE status, The Wrestling Observer reports there are those in WWE who are high on the former NXT Womens Champion, but there are those who are not.
Those who are not high on bringing Charlotte to the main roster feel she does not fit the model of what a WWE Diva should look like as she does not have “supermodel” looks. Despite those who are down on the idea of bringing Charlotte to the main roster, she is expected to debut at some point."
I hate this. Whether she looks great or not, she can flat out wrestle.
And as Ole used to say, the name on the marquee is Professional Wrestling. Dress it up any way you want but that's what this is.
Stop trying to find a "look" and realize that you need people who can work too.

First, the Charlotte stuff is upsetting. If anything, she maybe needs to workout a little less. If that's your worst physical quality, so be it. Rhyno returns because I have no fucking clue. Seriously. I have nothing.

Rosa can't wrestle & isn't a supermodel. Soooooo this reasoning given is awful. Cameron is ok to look at, but can't wrestle.
Does Charlotte look so much like her father that I can't find her attractive? Yes. However, she's won me over with her in ring. She'll be fine on the main roster, if people get their heads out of their asses. If not, keep her in NXT. At least they give them time to wrestle.

Also I like what they're going to be doing with Steen while Zayn is out. Glad they aren't rushing right into Steen/Balor, give it time,

Although I guess it is a feud heel champions usually go through on Raw so I guess it could be seen as prep for the main show.

Yeah I'm giving it a chance. Riley has wanted his shot in the ring too. Don't think he'll fuck it up. It'll no doubt be a one month feud to build Steen up more as a monster I'm sure. Plus it could make Riley look strong if he continues on NXT as a wrestler. I like him as a commentator though actually.
Maybe he'll be like Regal & just compete when provoked. Last time I compare Riley to Regal, promise,
Speaking of, wish they would've had Steen & Regal instead!

I had no clue. That's pretty shitty if that played some part in it.
From reading the spoilers, it doesn't look like Corbin does anything new over these next 4 weeks either. Which makes the No DQ against Bull even more pointless.

- One of the company’s top performers noted that right now there is no enthusiasm when it comes to the way the company is booking their storylines. The whole “We are having fun Goddammit” type of speech from Vince McMahon is compared to forcing POW’s to sing and dance and pretend that everyone is happy.
Another topic of conversation in the company is the bad promos. There are people who perform for the company that understand the concept of money promos and building anticipation for matches but those people are considered to be “old wrestlers” and not sports entertainers. It’s funny because you can watch NXT and see how that show is laid out and the show comes across as 100 times better than what they put out on Raw and Smackdown every week. Also, the head promo coach at NXT is Dusty Rhodes and that is why that show has promos that build up to a feud and match directly. I don’t know how much input Dusty had but the Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens buildup was fantastic. I’m sure those guys can cut their own promos without feedback but I’m guessing they got input from people like Dusty Rhodes and William Regal.
One person in WWE noted that the best thing for the company would be to take Jerry Lawler off commentary on Smackdown and have him as the promo coach for the main roster. Actually, that is a great idea. However, the negative part of that is that Lawler probably wouldn’t want that job and Lawler will not fight the WWE’s system so it would take a change in philosophy at the top for that to work out even if Lawler did take the job. Also, some people may be great in the ring and on promos but sometimes they are not the best coaches. You see some of that in mainstream sports sometimes where there’s a guy who was great on the field but he’s not great at teaching others.

- The WreslteMania pre-show is scheduled to start at 3pm local time in San Jose. That would be 6pm eastern. One thing to note is that most of the show will be in daylight because of the time difference so it will be interesting to see what they do for The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt’s entrances on the show unless they decide to put the match on very late in the show.
WrestleMania 9 was an outdoor show and the daylight wasn’t as big of a deal as it is now because they didn’t do entrances as elaborate as they do now. If you saw that show though you could see how some of the things they did on the show would have worked better if it was night time. Lex Luger’s entrance, for example, featured women holding mirrors in the ring while he posed and they had pyro shoot out of the mirrors. The wind was blowing so it affected how the pyro came out and it looked cheesy since the sun was out. That year they had The Undertaker come out with a black crow.
Monday’s Raw in Columbus drew 10,800 so they were about 2,000 shy from a sellout. There was a sign in the crowd directed at Roman Reings that said “Mid-90s Kevin Nash.” That is not fair to Nash because Nash got better crowd reactions but he also didn’t draw well as champion. You could also blame some of that on how they booked him by having him be a clean cut nice guy that smiled and kissed babies during his run as champion.
There’s no way to know for sure but the whole thing with Paul Heyman talking about the Brian Williams controversy on the WWE Network and then bringing it up on Raw was likely a receipt from Vince McMahon since Williams was negative towards Linda McMahon during her Senate run. Some of the things said had Vince’s fingerprints because the whole thing about everyone in television (including news anchors) being an entertainer is something Vince says. The interesting thing about all of this is that Williams works for NBC and NBC Universal keeps NBC and USA Network afloat.

Both have a "good look", 5 moves (6 if flipping ones hair out of ones face counts as a wrestling maneuver), both have only a vague understanding of the English language when there's a mic in their hand, and both have power move finishers that they hit at about 50% intensity. |
