It certainly isn't ideal. But the WWE has been a cesspool of racism for the last like 40 years. Their hypocrisy knows no ends.

I'm not trying to justify it at all, but there's a difference between Vince saying "What's up my n...?" to Cena & walking past Booker/Sharmell and what Hogan said. It's not cool regardless, but it's different levels of racism. Then again, it's all still racism, soooo, yeah.
I agree with how they foolishly support of Mayweather & how they're asinine for supporting a woman beater, but I'll save that for another time.
Hulk Hogan - Wrestling Superhero Terry Bollea - Racist Asshole
Legit question, I was trying to think, how many black professional wrestlers pinned Hogan?

I went through the whole Profightdb and only the Rock and Tony Atlas would qualify.

Wow. I mean I wasn't expecting many, but still. Not saying Hogan was against losing to black wrestlers, he'll he was against losing in general, just thought it was an interesting question. Profightdb to the rescue!
Also Brooke gave her "response" if you could call it that. It was a poem/song/nonsense on her Facebook page. I read a few lines & had to stop. She said he's not racist, when Hogan himself said he was one. You'd think Mrs. Bully Ray (technically still "married") would be smarter.

Back when Hogan was in his prime, how many big time black wrestlers were there?

Back when Hogan was in his prime, how many big time black wrestlers were there? I was just on the phone with scorejr and kind of brought up the same thing. And I think you could probably say it for just about anybody. How many black wrestlers has Cena lost to? Austin, Triple H, Sting, Bret Hart, you name it.

I wouldn't call them big time, like winning the main Championship belt. Kamala to me would be the biggest one and he isn't American for goodness sakes.
I was teasing with the American line.

Ok I checked out Cena. Lost to:
The Rock R-Truth (twice) Booker T (twice, one of those was a 3-way with Book/Cena/Show) Orlando Jordan Reverend D-Von Shelton Benjamin
Now granted a few of those were when Cena was The Prototype.
It should also be mentioned that Cena has wrestled about 600 more matches than Hogan.
Cena also lost in some tag teams: Evan Bourne/Mark Henry over Cena/Michael Tarver King Booker/Orton over Lashley/Cena R-Truth/The Miz over Cena/Ryder

I'd question most of them.
I was literally trying to think of any African-American 80's.

I picked a hell of a day to be mostly off the grid. I managed to check Twitter a couple times, and all the amateur comedians were in full force. "Another case of orange entitlement" was my favorite.

Hogan is responding to some people on Twitter, apologizing, saying that's not who he is. He's also been posting screencaps of some tweets wrestlers have been saying, about him never showing racism, among those wrestlers Mick Foley, Disco Inferno..........and Virgil.
I don't think "see, Virgil said I'm not racist" is going to change a whole lot of peoples minds about The Hulkster.

I'm not condoning what Hogan said but I'm still having a HUGE problem in how this information came to light. Am I mistaken in saying that this conversation was taped without Hogan's consent or knowledge? Ironically, that would be called blackmail in most instances. Not to mention it happened 8 years ago. Not to mention I've yet to hear one other person recite another instance where Hogan said such things.
It's terrible but at least it was said in confidence and in the privacy of his own home. I wonder how many others would fare if their worst moment in life were to be caught on tape.

I was curious what came up if I searched Hulk Hogan Racist on eBay. 1 result of someone selling a Hulk Hogan Racist Bundle, haha.
It consists of a signed photo, shirt, pop figure & relic trading card. It's bid is $2.25. I know Hogan is a shithead for what he said, but if I bought stuff on eBay, I'd consider it. It's still a Hogan signed pic for $2?
Thought it was funny.

I've forgiven him. Hell, I didn't really hold anything against him in the first place. As someone who has made some egregious mistakes in my life, I don't feel like I'm on a level to judge him. He's pretty much my all time favorite. (Jericho's there too) I loved him as a TV character. I never looked to Hulk "the person" for guidance.
Our society is setting up a very slippery and dangerous slope if we're gonna crucify people for saying and doing things that they had no reasonable way to know were being recorded or videotaped. Especially when you think you're amongst friends.

It's a very butt hurt society we live in. People get fired for tweets. Granted this was in the privacy (he thought) of his home (I'm guessing), you'd have to assume this wasn't the first time he's talked like that. It's just that he was caught/blackmailed, whatever. I think more of the disappointment for me is how he used the word. He shouldn't use the word at all, don't get me wrong. It's odd, the word shouldn't be said if you're white, but there's also levels of saying it too. There's moronic/comedic ways like Vince (which I am shocked he's never gotten busted for that) and then there's maliciously saying it. It's a very thin line, but in order to avoid it, just don't say it at all.
I honestly was a Macho Man kid growing up. So while this is still disappointing, I'm not thinking, oh man this guy was my hero.

You're missing a couple things in this overall deal KS. If he wins this lawsuit, it will be a thing. Also, if we really laid it all out, he was about to bang his "best friend's" wife around this time. But the 2015 Anger Train, that doesn't have a destination, needs to be stopped.

When I was trying to keep up today, I remarked it was stunning a Tampa guy with a bald mullet uses the N word. I'm probably going to get serious in a moment.

Sorry this story isn't wrestling related, but it somewhat applies about the media being just unstoppable until they get what they want.
I remember back to when Anthony from Opie and Anthony got fired last year for tweets he made after he was walking the streets of NY taking pics with his camera. A black woman (believed to be a prostitute) thought he was taking pics of her, so she went up & started calling him a white motherfucker & punching him repeatedly. Few other guys got invovled (who also happened to be black) asking what was going on, as Anthony was trying to get the girl away from him, but started going at Anthony because the girl was saying he was hurting her. They believed her, not Ant. He had a gun (he has a license for it) but never drew it. He got out of there, pissed, went home & took his frustrations out on Twitter. He used the word savages to describe the folks involved that night. And THAT is why he was fired.
Point is, Anthony had always been pretty much a racists on the show for years. Radio station knew it, they loved the ratings, so they just kept it going. But when the media caught wind of this happening in Twitter, they wanted Anthony fired immediately. So Sirius had no choice, didn't want to lose investors or make it seem like doing nothing would make it look like they supported his comments, so they caved & fired Ant.
Media got what they wanted & moved on to the next person. It really is sickening how the media pounces on a story, demands firings, etc, then moves on.

Especially when considering that this audio was obtained illegally. I don't think people should be completely destroyed for 30 seconds of audio, one unfortunate tweet, one disparaging comment, etc....... There's also the troubling fact that so many people are overlooking the fact that we're kinda siding with the despicable acts of Bubba the fucking Love Sponge and his fat whore wife over the immortal Hulk Hogan. I realize the decision we have to make is closer than it should be but still.
