Mike Tenay has reportedly signed a new deal with TNA, and he will be staying with the company at least through the next year. However, how Tenay will remain involved with the company on air is a bit of a question mark. The current plan is to replace him at the announce table with Josh Matthews.
Previously, Jim Ross had reportedly contacted TNA about loaning Tenay for the upcoming NJPW Tokyo Dome show set for next month because Ross wanted a two-man booth for the event. In exchange, Ross would plug the TNA product on the PPV. Unfortunately, TNA turned the offer down.

They try and listen to their fans a lot. The execution is usually just bad or they bail on ideas too quickly. In many ways, I actually feel like TNA is more in tune with wrestling fans.

I agree. I'll give this show a shot. Chances are it'll die a quick death due to mismanagement, but it's a great idea.

I passed out with the JR/Jarrett podcast on last night. I had this vivid dream where I took over domestic sales for the Jan. 4 PPV. I woke up legitimately excited when I heard them say "Kids, Google the start time since everyone does that now. It starts at 1 AM in Oklahoma!" I decided it was going to be a tough sell and went back to sleep.

Maybe it's because I've been listening to the Law more and more but I've become somewhat interested in NJPW. I've always been interested in being able to watch the product but never really had the time to. Now with the WWE network I can't really justify getting New Japan World. I barely watch the network.

I haven't really paid attention to this product for a while. I'm trying to come up with booking plans for the new launch. I'm struggling. I'm trying to put together four factions. The leader of each would be Angle, EC3, Magnus, and Jeff Hardy. That's your four most viable stars in my opinion, varying in age. In each faction, you'd have a viable mouthpiece, a young rising star, a tag team, and a manager in some cases. I think a foreign faction led by Magnus could be outstanding with Spud as the heel manager. EC3 could continue with hired guns. You don't really need a young star as he's the guy. The Jeff Hardy deal could include Matt. Almost all young guys. It's amazing how stale the roster is, even with so many changes.

From what I gathered watching YouTube clips, they didn't have a tremendous amount of storylines going on. Roode/Lashley is their title feud, I get that, James Storm is their Wyatt-like character saving people. Bram is the hardcore guy.
I'll absolutely be watching tomorrow. I hope they start focusing more on storylines. Last time I was actually interested in any was the start of Aces & Eights before it shit the bed immediately. That D'Lo heel turn shockingly didn't do it for me.
This is their chance for a new(er) start with their talent. Hope they kinda steer away from the clusterfuck matches they've become known for. I'm actually looking forward to it though too. Which is shocking.

There were reportedly 450-500 people at the show last night.
It's amazing how far they've fallen.
TNA draws as many people as AAW.

At least there's TV revenue, and not a house show. But I'm pretty sure I read the Manhattan Center has to sellout with some high priced tickets to break even. NY labor costs, etc. As much shit as we give them, I don't want them to fail. Just get better. Especially because TNA's performance is hurting other companies from getting good deals.

Even though I didn't care for the end of the show & thought it was ridiculously rushed. Overall I thought it was good & I was entertained, which is something I can't say for Raw most weeks. Maybe it's because I hadn't watched these guys in nearly 2 months.
That being said SPOILER I read from these next tapings. This new group ran by MVP is going to be called The Beatdown Clan. That's a fucking horrible name. That seems like a generic name you could name your stable on a video game.
