- Here are some more notes from last night’s TNA tapings in New York City:
* The Manhattan Center’s in-house staff and production facility was used in conjunction with TNA’s production staff. One of the reasons TNA is taping there is because the venue does a lot of TV production.
* There were no video screens. TNA used a crane camera and several handheld cameras to film.
* TNA really liked the building.
Oh that's great. I hope they give it a great grade on Travelocity.
* Mike Tenay was not there. He and Taz will do commentary in post-production. Hector Guerrero and Willie Urbine were there and did Spanish commentary live.
TNA sense. Why have Taz in the house, or the main announce crew?
* Bully Ray, Tommy Dreamer, Al Snow and Pat Kenny worked as agents. Jason Hervey worked as a producer. Some of Dreamer’s House of Hardcore students worked the taping in different roles to help with logistics.
Expect to see an angle where Rockstar Spud gets locked out of the car by EC3, and he keeps accelerating a bit so he can't get to the door handle. WAYNE!!
* Abyss was backstage but not used.
* TNA’s six-sided ring they’re now using is a new purchase. The old rings had already been converted to traditional rings.
Holy shit. I thought this was at least free.
* Word coming of the tapings is that we may see a little less of the backstage segments and more focus on what’s happening in front of the crowd.
* The taping was not sold out. Word is that between 550 and 650 fans were in attendance. As the second taping went on, many fans were seen leaving during the last hour.

Unbelievable the two "surprise debuts" for the 7/24 show. Why are they so interested in WWE castoffs? I mean I know it's worked out for EC3 but he was never really on the main roster so I don't consider him a WWE guy. About those debuts...

Well, so much for that. Gave the fans time to bitch for about half a day.
Spoiler (as if thst matters with TNA): I also hate how they see that Destination X is coming up, so they just have an established guy get the title just to forfeit it to get the World title shot.
Are they filming shows until the end of the year? From the spoilers I read tonight, they've gone until I think mid August already? And they still have tomorrow too don't they? I could be wrong, my research for TNA news doesn't exist.

It was after he cheated to defeat Samoa Joe to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a "2015 Cable Contract on a Pole" match.

Backstage TNA Reaction to 6 Sided Ring According to The Wrestling Observer, most of the TNA talents are not happy with the return of the 6 sided ring, and some talents have even complained to officials about its return. They were told, however, TNA is using the ring to help stand out from other wrestling promotions.
As far as the future of the ring is concerned, it's being said the 6 sided ring is here to stay.

TNA finished their tapings in NYC with a new champion being crowned.
They'll be back in early August for another round of tapings.

So Bully Ray is dating Velvet Sky?

So Bound For Glory will probably be taped and then shown to the US audience since airing it live would mean airing it at 7:00 AM.
I hadn't thought of that before and this idea now seems silly to me.

Apparently he is dating her. He was on the Opie and Anthony show a few weeks ago & told them he was. He also said he legitimately dated Brooke Hogan too, so whether he was just not breaking kayfabe or what, not sure if that one is true. Don't know the point of making up dating Velvet, so I assume it's legit.
I thought she was engaged to Sabin, apparently not.

Looks like his contract is up in September-ish. After his comments that he would jump to the WWE in a "heartbeat" makes you wonder if that possibility is right around the corner.
Wouldn't mind that at all.

I agree, he's in the best shape of his career & can still go in the ring. From what little I watch of TNA, he was easily the best heel they had (I know he's a face now, oh well).
Also I listened to an interview Bubba did with Sam Roberts & he said the original name for he & D-Von in TNA was supposed to be The Deadly Brothers. Brother Ray Deadly & Devon Deadly. Someone let out the name before they could do it, so they just kept Brother Ray & Devon.

There's something called TNA Unfinished Business on my PPV channel. Are they filming doing payroll now to boost revenue?

Yeah they fired him on July 3rd after he took a photo in NY & a black woman was in the pic, came up & started assaulting him. He went on a huge rant about her & black people on his Twitter. I'm really bummed because I love listening to O&A. They've been on the air for 20 years. Anyone who has listened to the show before knows Anthony is pretty much a racist, they just never come out & say it. He's said a lot of stuff before & even has gone on rants on his Twitter before as well, but Sirius didn't do anything, because that's what's he does. He's a shock jock & has been doing this for years.
Sadly these days people get all pissed about the easiest things & demand people's heads on a stick & fired immediately. Everyone loves a good apology, so when he didn't give it to them, people wanted him fired & Sirius caved. Fans are pissed, Opie & Jim Norton said they dont know what's next either. Ants a millionaire, he'll be just fine, maybe a podcast soon I think.
I don't agree with what Anthony said on his twitter by any means, but I do respect his right to say it.

As noted yesterday, Vince Russo finally admitted that he is working with TNA via a statement on his website. He has been denied any involvement with TNA for many months but yesterday finally admitted that he was lying and did so because he was keeping things confidential for the company. As it turns out, Russo had been in creative for a long time. Several months ago, their Japanese partners were upset with TNA about Russo being involved and they were never given a straight answer. John Gaburick later admitted to Keiji Muto that Russo was working for them but assured him that Russo was working under him and Russo didn’t have final say. He also told Muto that he (Gaburick) would be the one deciding on how the Japanese were portrayed on TNA programming. He said that what happened with Tetsuya Naito, Yujiro Takahashi, and Kazuchika Okada would not be happening with Wrestle-1 talent. Wrestle-1 is said to be happy with how Sanada has been pushed.

I hear stories all the time about writers that grew up loving wrestling. I understand working for WWE will limit your ability to create and draw. There's no reason TNA has to hide working with Russo. Also, there's no reason any company has to work with Russo. Are you telling me there isn't one fucking person out there that can develop compelling television? In turn getting a house over 500 minor league baseball fans? Anything?
If we're doing a secret booker deal, even working the boys and girls, give it to me Big John. I'll work on incentives, bro. John, I'll tell you what bro, I've seen the ratings go up and down John. What I see, bro, is a change in strategy, John, and a bump in ratings.
Give me one week, and I will go head-to-head booking against Vince Russo. Give me all of the talent of TNA, potential signings, ratings and income expectations, etc. I would out book, talk, and work him. I only say this because I don't have much interest in doing it. There has to be someone, someone, that is the new face of booking non-WWE. Please, someone, stand up.

Russo is a finance director at a dealership. Don't get me wrong, he's done some amazing things. I wish he took credit for the things that were actually his ideas!
If I were in charge of booking for TNA, I would have a mid-level person under Big John introduce me as a corporate consultant. Carter Family level, but something small. What would you do? Where do you see yourself going? Not required, but it's still important they talk to me.
During that time, I'd grasp every last bit of their personal character. The veterans would give me the exact guidance I need. The true bad apples expunged. Each and every one of those people want nothing more than their dream to be realized. Whether you're Stone Cold, Hogan, or Sandow, you need help in a worked business.
