So scorejr and I came up with like 17 matches for Mania. In no particular order, we're pretty sure this is how it's going down:
Reigns vs Taker
Owens vs Jericho
Cena vs Samoa Joe
AJ vs Shane
Bray vs Orton
Rollins vs Triple H
Big Show vs Shaq
Lesnar vs Goldberg
Gallows/Anderson vs Enzo/Cass (or maybe a 3 or 4 way with New Day and whoever)
American Alpha vs ?? probably another 3 or 4 way.
Charlotte vs Bayley (Maybe throw in Nia & Sasha)
Alexa vs probably 3 or 4 others
Andre Memorial Thingy
Strowman vs Corbin
Neville vs 10 other Cruisers
Dean Ambrose vs The Miz vs Ziggler vs whoever
Cesaro vs Sheamus but more than likely they'll be up in that multiple team Raw tag title match.
Haven't figured out what Rusev & Sami Zayn are doing quite yet. Hell, probably fighting each other.

About the only things unsettled in my mind would be:
- Whether Jericho/Owens fight for the Universal or US title. I'm hoping it's for the Universal. Maybe Owens costs Jericho the US belt to somebody and the feud grows from there. I'd also like to see Jericho win the Universal at Mania which would be an incredible moment. The next night on Raw they could have their rematch, Owens wins, kills Jericho post match and "ends Jericho's career". Then Jericho can go off on his Fozzy tour while Owens gets all his heat back.
- Not convinced they'll do Corbin/Strowman but I could sure see it. Otherwise maybe they continue with the Sami/Strowman feud and maybe Corbin would move into the Intercontinental match and make it a Fatal Fourway. (With Ambrose, Ziggler and The Miz)

Meltzer said on the Observer last night that since Joe/Cena isn't happening, in regard to who Cena will face, when he was told who it's slated to be, they told Dave "it won't make you jump for joy".
I'm legit dreading Corbin vs Cena if that's it. That's the only person it could be. No way they do Ziggler/Cena. There's no one left.

Shitting on Cena for no reason while seemingly giving Taker a higher spot doesnt make too much sense to me right now. Taker looks old and can barely move. Cena can still tell a story and he brings in more kids.

If Cena gets Corbin I don't think that's shitting on him. Clearly the thought tank likes what they have in Corbin and are calling on Cena to get him over. That's what the greats do.

But Cena doesn't have the greatest track record at Mania putting young guys over (Wyatt & Rusev). Unless they plan on pushing Corbin to the moon (which honestly, they need new heels on SD, so I'm fine with), then Corbin gains nothing from just wrestling Cena & losing at Mania. He becomes a stat not a star. I know Mania isn't about making stars anymore, but in this case, they should make an exception.
They also need to come up with a hell of a lot better match than what we saw on SD a few weeks ago. It was pretty bad.

If Rollins is out at Mania, Hunter is without an opponent.
Maybe go with the long rumored Shane vs. Hunter match.
That frees AJ up to do something much more interesting.

I don't know if I want him going to Balor again so quick.
Keller was on with Austin yesterday and seems to think Owens-Jericho isn't a sure thing for Mania. I think he's crazy but if they went that route and kept JeriKO together a little longer, I could see Owens-Balor and Jericho defending the US Title against someone like Sami or Cass.

I personally feel that Jericho/Owens should close the show and it should be for the big belt. I think they both deserve to be in that spot after the year they've had.

That would have been amazing. Have ambush Reigns as he makes his way to the rumble as the 30th entrant. HHH sprints to the ring while he eliminates someone. When HHH gets there he goes apeshit and demands everyone remaining throw him out....after a good staredown he exits under his own power and heads off into the stands while HHH is being calmed down and held back. Then you have 2 PHENOMENAL months of mania build up. HHH probably has a stroke though on live tv confronting him at some point. |

I miss WWE Kurt Angle so much. Throwing on the Raw after Summerslam 2000. I know it's during the Angle-HHH feud but that's all I know. Best wrestling show I'll watch this week. |

Just listened to Wrestling Observer Live (not Meltzer's show) & Bryan Alvarez said one of the rumors for potential Mania matches is Miz & Maryse......vs Cena & Nikki. Now I trust Meltzer FAR more than I do Alvarez, so anything Bryan says I tend not to believe at all. But it's the first time I've heard this & felt like posting it.
Cena would be wasted in that spot. Take nothing away from Miz, who I think is fantastic, but if he has a mix tag, it should be with Dean & Renee. Cena is tied for most World title reigns in history & you waste him in a mix tag? I'd rather see Corbin/Cena with Cena going over before I see a mix tag with Cena & Nikki.
It sucks but this Rollins injury has got the fantasy ideas flowing for seemingly everyone online. Very unfortunate (and hopefully Rollins makes it to Mania) but it's interesting to hear some ideas thrown out there.

You've been having Nattie on TV constantly say how John will never marry Nikki, this is the perfect time to do it. Dave said he thinks Nikki's career is ending soon because she's going into business, plus she's never had a mix tag with John (and you can build this for the dumb Total Bellas show as well). And John/Miz can promote it well.
It sucks, but it's looking more likely. Still think it's wasting Cena.

They absolutely will. He will take 10 tombstones and choke slams like they are a slap on the ass and then will deliver a horrible "spear" and win. If they really want him to go heel then you have him lose to Taker and then have him deliver a post match beat down. Make the fans boo what they are supposed to boo.
