Figure I'd just start a thread for this because we had one for the CW Classic. They're going to be announcing more names for the 32 woman tournament happening soon. First four have been announced thus far.
1. Toni Storm - PROGRESS Women's Champion & a well known name in the Stardom promotion 2. Princesa Sugehit - wrestles in CMLL, current Mexican National Women's Champion 3. Lacey Evans - former Marine who is a NXT wrestler & has been on NXT a few times 4. Sarah Logan - NXT wrestler, formerly Crazy Mary Dobson on the indies
Don't watch CMLL, so not familiar with Sugehit, but I've seen Storm & Logan wrestle indies and they're solid. Logan wrestled Peyton Royce on the last ep of NXT in a good match. Evans I've only seen briefly in NXT, so not enough to have much of an opinion on her yet.
They said 17 different countries will be represented. 1st two days of tapings will take place July 13th & 14th.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned, former WWE star Serena Deeb is in talks with WWE to participate in the upcoming Mae Young Classic tournament, despite technically being retired from the ring. Sources note Serena Deeb has been discussing coming out of retirement with WWE to compete in this summer’s Mae Young Classic tournament, however, it’s not a done deal quite yet.
I actually always liked her. She was a really good wrestler, just never got a chance to show it off in WWE since she was in the Straight Edge Society.

Have victoria play the Tajiri role in this tournament please. Just as long as she green mists the Squared Circle douche in the front row!

Fuck yeah for Tessa getting a shot! She's been improving a bunch in the ring, so good for her.
Abbey Laith is the former Kimber Lee, who was one of the top female indy wrestlers out there prior to signing.
Jazzy Gabert is Alpha Female, who has been on TNA in the past. Big German gal.
Never heard of Conti or Devi.

Jim Ross & Lita will be on commentary. Not the same feel as DB & Mauro, but I'm fine with it.
Only thing I worry about is them trying to force this into being exactly like last year.
I don't want Lita jumping in the ring hugging someone in tears like Kendrick/Bryan, which was a great moment.

Kairi Sane (Hojo) was announced during a video at a house show in Sumo Hall. It also sounds like she's keeping the elbow drop thankfully.
Piper Niven (who is Scottish wrestler Viper)
Bianca Belair (who won a qualifying match against Aliyah to make it to the tournament)
Dakota Kai (who is New Zealand wrestler Evie)

Sage Beckett (the former Rosie Lottalove in TNA & Andrea on the indies) - She briefly retired in 2012, but came back after losing 130 pounds & got signed. She's wrestled in SHINE & I know she was the muscle for SoCal Val in some indies too. If you look at the before & after, it doesn't even look like the same person. Good for her.
Rhea Ripley (20 year old Demi Bennett, Australian wrestler)

Madusa will be on commentary with Jim Ross & Lita for the tournament. Definitely less excited for this lineup on the call than the CWC.
Tapings I believe start tomorrow, so there's still a lot of names left to be announced.
Ayesha Raymond & Kay Lee Ray have been officially added to the field.
Other names expected to be included are Shayna Baszler, Rachael Ellering, Santana Garrett, Renee Michell, Barbi Hayden, Nicole Savoy, Mercedes Martinez & Marti Belle.
WHERE....IS....CANDICE....LERAE!!! DAMMIT!!!

– According to PWinsider.com, the following is the list of talents in Orlando, Florida for the Mae Young Classic… * Candice LaRae * Mia Yim aka Jade from Impact Wrestling * Tessa Blanchard * Rachel Ellering * Lei’d Tapa * Deonna Purrazzo * Santana Garrett * Renee Michelle * Marti Belle, formerly of Impact Wrestling * Mercedez Martinez * Kay Lee Rae * Ayesha Raymond * Rhea Ripley * Sage Beckett (formerly Andrea/Mary Kate) * Kairi Sane (formerly Kaiji Hojo in STARDOM) * Dakota Kai (formerly Evie) * Bianca Belair (formerly Bianca Blair) * Vanessa Borne (current NXT talent Danielle Kamela) * The former Kimber Lee, Abbey Laith * Multi-time STARDOM champion Jazzy Gabert * Taynara Conti * Kavita Devi, a Great Khali trainee from Indian * Lacey Evans * Sarah Logan aka the former Crazy Mary Dobson * Toni Storm * Lucha Libre star Princesa Sugehit * Reina Gonzales, formerly Victoria Gonzales, the daughter of Rudy Boy Gonzales. * Zaeda, formerly Julia Ho * Zhao Xia * Barbi Hayden * Shayna Baszler * Nicole Savoy
I hope this is true, because it's about damn time Candice is introduced for this thing. Do I see her winning, no, but I see her really doing good. My pick is Kairi Sane or Toni Storm. Maybe have Shayna Baszler win, since WWE might want to involve Ronda somehow? Not sure.

I can see Baszler winning this to get Rousey back. Ronda is there tonight, they've already tweeted pics of her & also posted a vid.
I watched the intro stream on YouTube. I'm actually really looking forward to this.
Might stay away from spoilers to stay surprised.
Is it cool if we don't post them in this thread? I'd sort of like to watch each match & give a brief review of it like for the CWC if possible.
If not, totally understand.

Legit thought this started next week or something. Had no clue they were going with this schedule, which fucking blows if you ask me.
The first four eps will be released on WWE Network Monday, Aug 28, with the next four following a week later on Sep 4.
A live final match will air at 10PM on Tuesday, Sep 12 from Las Vegas.

Very cool. She retired at 31 to go be a coach and improve WWE's women. Shit she could probably compete now and kill it.

You could do a storyline with a girl in NXT and have Sara coaching them, have one girl get an attitude & build the story from there. Have the girl say she doesn't need coaching from someone who the only way they made it here is by taking a trainer role. Have it end it Sara coming out of retirement & having a match against whoever.
It practically writes itself. You could have a girl from this Mae Young Classic or someone like Billie Kay or Peyton Royce. Hell, even have Asuka.
You could have Asuka drop the "do you know what I have accomplished here? What exactly have you done in that ring?"
Fantasy booking took over for a second. It'd be a way to do a storyline with the women in NXT aside from just the one focused on the title.

Watch the end of that video. Trips' hand is dropping a little low there. Cesaro isn't going to stand for that (I think they're still a couple, I could be wrong)
Cesaro & Sara vs Trips & Stephanie!
