Episode 5 Toni Storm vs Hiroyo Matsumoto to start the second round as both trade ground work & counters early. Toni offered a handshake after it but Matsumoto kicked her to take advantage. Missile dropkick by Hiroyo for a 2. Toni fires back with a forearm but eats a vertical suplex. Strikes in the corner by Matsumoto, who charges, but Storm hit a snap German and meteora in the corner. Fisherman's suplex for a 2 for Toni as we then get into a slug fest with forearms & slaps. Misdirection by Matsumoto who plants Toni with a clothesline. Inverted crab into a single leg crab, but Toni gets the ropes. Vader bomb/double knees by Hiroyo for 2. Headbutt and bridging German by Storm for 2. Back suplex by Hiroyo for 2 as she follows up with a sliding lariat for another near fall. Multiple wrist clutch lariats by Matsumoto as she looks for a third, but Toni gets a victory roll and the win! This was a very good match.
Rhea Ripley vs Kacy Cantazaro is next. Another crazy size disadvantage for Kacy, who uses her speed and athleticism to hit and run. Wild head scissors by Kacy, but Rhea cut her off with a standing dropkick. Rhea toying with her as she rag dolls Kacy around the ring. Stalling vertical suplex by Rhea for 2 as Kacy is selling really well. Weird ass reverse cloverleaf by Rhea as Kacy fights free. Kacy hits a wild tilt a whirl DDT with multiple revolutions (Sonjay Dutt used to do that) as she hits a slingshot cross body to the floor. Kacy looks for a springboard into the ring, botches it, tries again and hits a dropkick. Tries for a head scissors again, but gets punted in the gut. Rhea with a chokeslam/powerbomb for the win. Rhea is a star, Kacy is too, but has to just put it all together. She did great. Fun match.
Lacey Lane vs Taynara Conti up next. Lacey tries for a corner lariat but misses and Conti slammed her to the mat, then punts Lacey over and over. Conti eats a clothesline as Lane clutched her wrist and just started pounding in the chest. Conti tried for her spinning judo slam, but Lane with a crucifix bomb for the win. This was super short, just over two minutes. While Conti still looked clunky, this was nowhere near as bad as her last match with Jessie. She has great expressions, just has to put the rest together. Lane, for the brief offense was good.
Meiko Satomura vs Mercedes Martinez is our main event. Both have the most experience of all the ladies in this. Satomura gets the advantage early with her striking and ground game. She had Mercedes in a head scissors, but Martinez jumped out and SLAPPED THE FUCK OUT OF SATOMURA!! We get some stiff shots as Mercedes hits a spinebuster for two. Hard hitting offense by Martinez who ultimately eats a kick to the side of her head. Meiko goes to the top, but is cut off as Mercedes hits an Ego Trip off the ropes for a 2. Fisherman Buster countered by Meiko into an armbar as Mercedes rolls constantly to escape to the ropes. Brutal kicks to the face by Meiko as she goes to the top and hits a Frog Splash for 2! This match has ruled.
Saito suplex by Mercedes stops Mieko's momentum as the crowd is split. Mercedes looks for her finish again but eats a DDT. Meiko with a stomp to the chest and another brutal DDT followed by a cartwheel knee for a near fall. Mercedes blocks a Pele Kick and hits V-Trigger as she finally hits the Fisherman's Buster for a 2!! Crowd cheering loud as Mercedes locks in a surfboard, tries for a Dragon sleeper as well but Meiko fights free, gets up and hits a spinning wheel kick. Fucking wild Scorpion Kick to the back of the head wins it for Meiko Satomura. Best match of the tournament thus far, have a hard time believing any match will top this. WATCH THIS MATCH!!

Episode 6 Io Shirai vs Zeuxis kicks us off as Io uses her speed and a dropkick to take an early advantage but ate an uppercut and a baseball slide to the floor. Zeuxis targets the arm but Io regains control & hits a leaping double knee and a meteora as Zeuxis rolls to the outside. Io charges full steam and hits a wild suicide plancha. Io locks in a crossface yet Zeuxis powers out into a Michinoku Driver but missed a moonsault follow up. Zeuxis looks for a Spanish Fly but Io hits a top rope rana, leaping double knees and her top rope moonsault for the win. Fun match, but Michael Cole ruins it by his mispronunciation of a bunch of moves. Io looked very good in this.
Deonna Purrazzo vs Xia Li is next. Deonna counters some early Xia offense, but ultimately starts eating kicks including a leaping side kick off the second rope for a near fall. Hip toss/dropkick by Deonna (Young Bucks do that), as she then targets the arm of Xia to set up her finish, which she locks in briefly before Xia turns it into a pin attempt for 2. Deonna back on the arm, but Xia hits a dropkick to cut her off. Both women trade hard chops & Xia gets a head kick for 2. Xia misses a dive right into the Fujiwara Armbar as Xia taps. It was a decent match. Deonna vs Io in the quarterfinals now.
Tegan Nox vs Nicole Matthews is up third. Nicole with a cheap shot to start as she hangs Tegan up in the ropes & hits kicks. Dropkick in the corner for a near fall. Nicole trash talks allowing Tegan to hulk up briefly but gets beat down. Nicole tries to target the leg but Nox fires back & cracks her with a headbutt. Running cannonball in the corner by Tegan who hits a shining wizard for the win in a little over 3 minutes. Much quicker than I had hoped, wish these two got more time. Nox again sold for a majority of this and only hit about 4-5 moves. Tegan faces Rhea Ripley next round.
Mia Yim vs Kaitlyn is our main event. Mia is selling the injured hand from her match with Alisyn Kay. Kaitlyn with multiple leg drops early for 2 and a cannonball, locking her in a body scissors. Kaitlyn goes for a sloppy ass baseball slide, but Mia cuts her off and targets the knee. Standing Figure Four by Mia as Kaitlyn gets free and goes after the bad hand. It was weird, she couldn't bodyslam Mia due to her bad leg, then like 30 seconds later hit multiple bodyslams. Kaitlyn with a spinning side slam, misses a spear as Mia hit Sole Food for a 2. Kaitlyn hits a Spear out of nowhere for a close 2, but took too long to follow up as Mia locked in a knee bar on the bad leg as Kaitlyn screamed and tapped. Mia vs Toni Storm next round should be great. MUCH better showing from Kaitlyn in this one from her first round match. Mia again continues to be great, so happy they signed her.
Quarterfinals will be... Meiko Satomura vs Lacey Lane Io Shirai vs Deonna Purrazzo Tegan Nox vs Rhea Ripley Mia Yim vs Toni Storm

Episode 7 Meiko Satomura vs Lacey Lane is our first quarter final match. Cole describes the Mae Young Classic as "a classic" (good one, dipshit). They traded kicks and counters for a majority of this one as Lacey used her speed to gain the advantage, looking for the major upset. High cross body off the top for a 2, as Lacey missed a bicycle kick, Meiko hits a kick and plants her with a DVD for the win. Seeing as Lacey has barely 2 years experience, she more than held her own & was very impressive. Meiko advances to the semis.
Io Shirai vs Deonna Purrazzo is next. The start was too choreographed for me, it looked weird. Luckily Shirai hit a running suicide dive to the floor to pick things up. While the pace was slower, it was a lot of counters until Io hit a leaping double stomp. Hard forearms by Shirai but Deonna answers with chops as she hits the Young Bucks move where she gets a hip toss, backflips into a dropkick. Spin kick, running knee and armbar combo by Purrazzo, but Io got free and locks in a crossface. Shotei by Io, who follows with a 619 and springboard dropkick for 2. Deonna avoids the moonsault and hits rolling Germans for a near fall into the armbar. Io almost taps but again counters into the crossface. Deonna eats a knee as Io nails the meteora and moonsault for the win. Minis the minor complaint at the start, this was a very good technical match. Io is great and Deonna is a star in the making.
Rhea Ripley vs Tegan Nox is third tonight. Nox sent Rhea to the floor, hit a suicide dive and dammit she immediately hurt her GOOD knee. She had surgery last year on the other leg which kept her out for nearly a year. Doctors checked on her and she's still giving it a go (don't agree with that). She hit some chops on Rhea until Ripley hit a dropkick and Nox looked to the ref and held up the X sign herself. Crowd is dead silent as all you hear is Tegan crying. Rhea handled this well too as she stayed in character and played it off. Tegan was helped to the back as the crowd cheered her name. Feel awful for Nox as she fought so hard to get back here.
(She tore her MCL, LCL, ACL, both meniscus, dislocated her kneecap, bone contusions & Segond fracture on her left tibia. Fucking hell. She's tweeted she's already two months into rehab, so I hope she makes a good recovery but damn.)
Toni Storm vs Mia Yim is your main event. Hard hitting match as Toni targeted Mia's bad hand, but Mia cut her off with kicks and forearms as she tried to ground Toni. Mia locked in a guillotine but Toni powered out win a spinebuster. Stiff kicks by Mia for a near fall, then gets another near fall off a Pele Kick. Toni stopped her momentum by hitting a headbutt as both women collapsed. Both up and trade slaps before Toni hits a German. Storm with a running butt bump in the corner but couldn't hit her finish as Mia connects with a Saito suplex for 2. Mia with a spinning powerbomb for yet another 2 as a This Is Awesome chant breaks out. Mia misses Sole Food as Storm wrenches her bad hand and plants her with Storm Zero for the win. Very good main event. I don't need to tell you how great both women are.
Semis are next week, last show before Evolution. We'll see Ripley vs Shirai and Storm vs Satomura.

Just watched the match where Tegan Nox got injured. She probably should stop those suicide dives; she had a horrible one the week prior where I thought she injured herself. She is tough as hell though.

Episode 8 Toni Storm vs Meiko Satomura is our first semi final match tonight on this final episode before Evolution. Mat based work & counters early with Storm taking over after a stiff kick & snap suplex for multiple near falls. Meiko turns the tables lighting up the knee with kicks as Toni breaks free from a submission. It's vicious kicks and forearms from Meiko, who hits a spin kick, some uppercuts, but Toni counters into a STF in the center of the ring. Storm with a running butt bump in the corner and a Fisherman's suplex for 2 as Meiko rolls to the floor. Toni hits a suicide dive through the bottom rope as we're back inside. Storm with a beautiful shining wizard for 2 as she punts Meiko in the face which makes her hulk up. Satomura with a DDT and a cartwheel kick (or as Cole called it "a spinning............leg.....kick"). Meiko plants Storm with a DVD but Toni kicks out!! Meiko tries for a running knee but Storm catches her and drops her with a snap German then Storm Zero for 1...2...kick out!! This Is Awesome chants as this match has been great. Storm misses her finish and eats a Pele Kick, then another stiff kick to the face for 2. Fucking brutal Scorpion Kick by Meiko for another 2!! Storm counters the DVD into another Storm Zero for the 3!!! Wow that was a fantastic match!!
Both women are crying as the crowd chants "Thank You Meiko". Both hug as Kairi Sane comes out to give Storm flowers congratulating her as Triple H thanks Meiko at the ramp, raising her hand. Loved all of this.
Io Shirai vs Rhea Ripley is our next semi final match. Ripley uses her power and size to control Shirai early, working the ribs with a claw. Renee says Rhea has "a mosh pit style", whatever that means. Ripley lights Io up with forearms before locking in a body scissors. Stalling vertical suplex for 2 and we're back to a body scissors until Io finally fires back with forearms. Snap hurricanrana for 2 by Io who hits a quick dropkick sending Rhea to the floor. She crawls into position as Io hits a suicide dive (crowd chants No! No! No! as she did this since they didn't want what happened to Tegan Nox happen to Io). Rhea back in control and targets the back again, but Shirai hits a Shotei and a 619, then a dropkick off the top for 2 (don't like that Io didn't sell the ribs at all after hitting that landing on her back). Rhea cuts off the moonsault attempt, goes to the top & hits a massive superplex for 1...2...no!! Pumphandle slam countered as Io sends Rhea into the post. This sets up Io to hit a meteora as she connects with her moonsault for the win!! Very slow start but kicked into gear as it went on. Rhea Ripley looked great, which, I don't even know if she was supposed to be in this match to begin with due to the Tegan Nox injury, but she more than held her own, good for her. Only complaint was, Rhea worked the ribs A LONG TIME and Io won with a moonsault and didn't sell the ribs at all, which I hated. She did sell them after the match was over though so that's better than nothing.
Triple H out again and congratulates Rhea at the stage as Kairi Sane back out again to give her best friend flowers. Really cool moment for those two having been through so much prior to NXT. Trips and Sara Amato out to congratulate Io as Toni Storm walks out and we get a face off to end the show.
That does it for the weekly shows of this year's MYC. There were some absolutely amazing matches in this tournament. Here's the Top 10 of the tournament.
