If Punk left with just the bitterness and nothing else, I'd say, despite that, it'd still be possible. But they fired him, on his wedding day, then went through all that stuff (and money) with the trial.
Tons of people to have matches with sure, but it'll never happen.

Wait, so Shane's wife is a producer on a movie set to be released in a few weeks about an American reporter who was presumably murdered in Syria. This moron tweeted about the movie while in Saudi Arabia. (the responses to the tweet are exactly what you'd expect)
Boy living in that McMahon bubble really makes you idiotic doesn't it? I had zero clue about that. I honestly can't believe Shane went to this show. Wonder what his wife thought?

I know we want great matches. I enjoy them too. I loved Mr. Perfect. But let's all be honest. If Curt Hennig was WWF Champion, this board wouldn't exist and we wouldn't know each other. Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon made us fans. It followed to Austin and Rock, which made it a thing again. If Benoit and Eddie were long term champs, same thing as Perfect as champ. This could be 1,500 words, but I'm too old and I'm not getting paid. |

Word from Da Meltz is that Shane won the tournament because they want a slow heel turn to appease the Fox folks. Apparently Fox wants a heel McMahon character in place for the Fox debut next year.
This company is successful despite itself. Instead of using the tourney to create a new mega-heel star like Cien Almas, they use it to force another fucking McMahon authority figure angle.
I blame the Attitude Era for this. Some people who (rightly) accuse Bischoff of having one good idea tend to overlook the fact that WWE has only had one fresh non-Jericho storyline since 1998 - that being the heel authority figure. The problem sadly is that it doesn't really matter how stale their ideas are or how antiquated their approach to main-roster booking is. WWE is a money-making machine that no longer thrives on live attendance, ratings, and buyrates. They can literally book the same Raw episode every week for the next 6 months and still make money hand over fist. Quite simply, they don't need us to like the product. They book for Twitter trending, YouTube views, and Instagram likes. This is how it is, and this is how it will be.
This is why I stopped loving WWE after the WCW purchase in 2001. Thank God for WWE Network's Vault section.

Braun Strowman is dealing with very bad knee issues right now, according to Dave Meltzer on this morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio.
The longtime pro wrestling journalist added that Strowman’s knees “are shot” and it was noticeable when Strowman had to chase Baron Corbin during week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Manchester, England at the Manchester Arena on the USA Network.

Just give the title to McIntyre and be done with this already. |

I wonder if they do a retirement run with Kurt like Flair in 2008? If he loses, he's done. Put someone from NXT over at Mania. Although, this might not be the best time to run a retirement angle. No pun intended.

No pun intended. If they didn't waste Chad Gable, that would be a great idea to have someone like that beat Kurt. I didn't watch a second of RAW last night, but apparently McIntyre squashed Kurt in the main event. Like Angle Slam, ankle lock, blocked all his takedowns, the whole thing. I know you want Drew to be protected and look like a monster, but geez, sounds like they made Kurt look like a total bitch. Not how I wish he'd be treated. Then again this run for the most part has been a total joke, sadly. |

If they had actually pushed Gable like a wrestling machine, you'd have a good back story with the history of amateur wrestling and competing in the Olympics. Of course current guys in NXT would be better options, but I'm just saying at one time, Gable would've been a cool choice for that role IMO. This was before they made Kurt have a long lost son and gave Jordan that role for some reason. Now that dumb storyline is over, Jordan is unfortunately still injured and Gable is....on Main Event. |

It'd be a bummer if it's true (sounds like it might be), but they could just throw another girl in there like Asuka (I know it doesn't fall in the champion vs champion match). Obviously wouldn't be as great as the Becky match, but Asuka despite how damaged they've made her, still has at least a little name power left. Just throw another random girl in the tag match.
Becky vs Ronda needs to happen though, maybe even at Mania. I'd much prefer that over Charlotte/Ronda.
