They could’ve had singles runs, after having done pretty much everything in the tag division. Also Fenix was injured quite a bit.
I just hope WWE doesn’t water Penta down a lot. But with the new regime, I have a little hope.
This is one of those departures and pickups from the competition I’m not shocked by. Sad, but not shocked. I hope WWE realizes the cash cow they will have with merch. Something AEW has whiffed on too many times to count.
If AEW ever needs to hire someone new, it’s a merchandising person. They’re been just awful.

Umm, that’s going to draw no one. 12 people might watch.
But if it’s a Ridiculousness type show, that’s on like 23 hours a day on MTV, then it’s a background show for just people to have on while doing other shit.

He made every wrong move possible since taking over. HBO was considered premier TV. Now it's just garbage.
I don't know that I would want to be partnered with them going forward if I was Tony.

I hope Tony at least explores other options. I also hope his blinders for buyers of a ROH show doesn’t hamper any decisions as well.
Word is TruTV is going to turn into a sports channel at some point and while ROH would actually fit on there, if Tony can get a better deal elsewhere, at least consider it for AEW

This is not surprising in the least, but Ricky Starks expected to go to WWE when his deal is up.
While he was injured a few times, it’s always felt like it was inevitable he’d go with his best friend Cody. I think Tony could’ve put the World Title on him and he still would go to WWE.
But it does feel like Tony has been icing him (if he’s actually healthy) for a long time. Do you keep him on TV as a prominent character, knowing he’s leaving to WWE or do you ice him and do nothing, but it doesn’t matter as he’ll be presented as a star when he does show up to WWE.
It’s tough. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Where would a new TV deal rank in all time announcements? That's something I think you do in a press release or an appearance on something like First Take hyping up the details. Like how WWE did with Netflix. Play that up as a major deal. |

It’s an extreme clip show but AEW talent have stories sprinkled in throughout. Ospreay for instance is the “host” for this week.
As soon as he said “for the next TWO HOURS” I turned the channel.
It’s a background show for folks to have on. Like the actual Ridiculousness.
