Does Ricochet add anything to AEW they don't already have?
I don't think so.

Putting Sammy together with a grown ass adult seems like a spectacular idea.

Good for him.
At least they paid him like a champion...

He’s come an awful long way since Isiah Scott in NXT and the first guy cut from Hit Row (despite being the leader)
Very happy for Swerve. He’s been one of the best pickups by AEW

Swerve deserves it. I didn't like his booking as champion but he's a professional and he tried to deliver on everything that was asked of him.

Interesting list when you think about who is and is not featured on there.
For those that watched, was Swerve-Danielson really the best match in AEW history?

Swerve Strickland says he built a relationship with Tony Khan which led to his success in AEW and eventually becoming company's World Champion:
“It was also a relationship that I had to build with Tony. It wasn't always about me and what I wanted and I had to learn that too middle way through of my tenure in AEW. I had to learn what Tony needs, what can I provide that Tony needs right now. That he's looking for and he just can't find it or there's nobody to offer it to him.
He needs me in tags, I'll go drop in tags, cool. What does he need, he needs a great challenger to face Orange Cassidy for the International Championship, give it to me. I'll do it, all right. We need a good match out of Sting, we need something big for him, Swerve can do it. That's what built the relationship of just like put me anywhere, I'll make it work.
You need someone in Nashville 2 weeks ahead of schedule to promote this, hey could you make this TV spot... could you do this promotion... can you do something random for TNT... can you do something for TBS... can you do something for Warner Brothers... I'll be there. Hey could you be there for Jacksonville Jaguars games to be on the field to talk with so can you be there, yep.
I think that relationship is where it garnered me the trust and equity in the company. What's the old saying, the meadows aren't always greener on the other side? Well in this case, they were.
I mean sure, there's always some peeps out there who are haters. Some can be vicious. Some of them don't really know jack. Others are a bit anal retentive.
But if you're a kid out there, keep reaching for the stars and you might just become one. Fill your life and soul with positivity. Give yourself a forum to flourish in.”

Swerve is freakin awesome.
What he said there would've made for a great promo on Dynamite after he won the title. I don't think I'll ever get over that.

Everyone is piling on Britt for the match, but I think both ladies looked bad. They didn’t gel together at all and were in completely different pages multiple times. Maybe it’s ring rust still for Britt, maybe they just didn’t have that chemistry, maybe Mercedes didn’t deliver like we hoped, I think it’s a little bit of everything.
I think folks still hold beef with Britt for the Rosa stuff and also how she’s seemingly always in the drama.
I’m going solely off the match I watched Sunday. Both were very shaky and didn’t carry the other.

What exactly have you seen from Mercedes in AEW that reminds you of the way she is capable of working. She basically has robbed Tony.

Make sure AEW is matching your 401k too.

Interesting to hear from someone who was there telling what he thinks was wrong. That was an interesting read. Yet another well-respected veteran claiming their advice and expertise wasn't welcomed in AEW. That's unfortunate.

Yet another well-respected veteran claiming their advice and expertise wasn't welcomed in AEW. That's unfortunate. So many of the hopes I had when it was started just never happened. I really thought some of those kids would be a new wave of wrestler because they're such marks for wrestling. Why wouldn't you listen to these guys?

I think a lot of it comes down to them thinking that anyone trying to give them advice is trying to change them. Which isn't the worst thing in the world.
You shouldn't be doing the same style matches for a multimillion dollar company with weekly TV and PPVs that you were doing in Reseda.
I think some of the guys have started listening to some of the other guys who are there like Dustin and Jerry Lynn, but not enough.

I'm getting hot about it again. I mean, will Jack Perry completely change his entire outlook of wrestling because he listened to Mark Henry? No. Will a fair amount of it be the "back in my day" stuff. Sure. But if you get one fucking thing out of it, what else were you doing? Fixing your hair? Not drinking enough creatine? Also, how about just showing respect?
I know it's not just that fuck and it's plenty of the other high school wrestlers that mistake a big early contract for talent. But seeing the once in a lifetime opportunity this group had to make a new ROH with less respect is sad.

That's the sad part about AEW. It could've been so much more than it is.
And it isn't trying to "make it like WWE", which is a lot of the pushback. It's about taking what you already do that's special and maybe incorporating some advice from some of the guys who have done this at a high level before.
Youth is wasted on the young.
