So apparently the Danhausen issue was he expressed frustration not being used, they wanted him on Collision for shows, but he said he had family commitments, only for them to notice he was taking Indy dates around the same time. He had pitched ideas but they weren’t used. Both sides haven’t had communication for about 6 months except for him clearing indy dates with them. His contract goes til summer of 2025.
I know, shocking, it sounds like just communication issues mostly. I could see why he’s frustrated initially (despite being injured multiple times for extended lengths), but I could see them being frustrated with him taking dates when he said he had family commitments and wouldn’t be able to be at Collision.
He’s a guy who, despite not being used on tv, still makes the company money in merch sales. So you’d definitely keep him around for the length of his contract you’d assume.
I would use him on TV if it were me. I know he’s Punk’s best buddy, but fuck that, that shouldn’t matter.

Wasn't he also liking tweets and what not that were anti-AEW after the Punk stuff?

Swerve (pun intended) that’s not his x-ray. Luring The Hurt Syndicate into a false sense of security.
But for real, this blows if it puts Swerve out for an extended period. Even not as champ, he’s a key part to AEW

According to Mike Johnson, the belief is that Speedball Mike Bailey will debut in AEW during the Continental Classic.
That will be a solid way for him to come in and build some momentum right away.

Isn't it because he's been Johnny "Whatever show he's on" since he's been outside of WWE?
Johnny Impact Johnny Powerr Johnny Fusion
And wouldn't this be easier to use across all other brands?

This is something I've said on here ad nauseum. Run smaller buildings or make Daily's Place your home arena every week.

Punk wrestled 33 times in AEW. Aside from maybe older wrestlers like Dustin, QT Marshall, Bobby Fish & Matt Sydal, I’m trying to think who he could’ve “wasted” matches on (and not going with bitter Phil route and say Hangman or whatever).
Sure, the place that’s paying him now (on his last chance) is the place that understands the business. When he was working for AEW it was time to take shots at the other place. That’s not the point of this post though, I digress.
He worked young guys like Moriarty, Silver, Caster, Garcia, Hobbs, Starks, MJF. Had quite a few multi man tag matches with FTR, Sting, Darby. Then had his feuds with Mox, Page, Joe as well.

I think he would think now that the matches with the Bucks, Page, and Perry were wastes of time.
People also have to stop asking him about AEW.

I think Punk maybe just needs to smoke a big fatty for once in his life. Not the Mark Grace kind but the legal good good stuff in Illinois kind.

He never wrestled The Bucks or Perry his whole time there.
I agree people have to stop asking him about it (they know his response will get clicks), but he also has to stop being a dick too (which, again, he knows will get clicks).
For a guy who was supposedly all about helping the youth or whatever, this comment is making it seem like many were wasting his time. I don’t want to get into the whole who was wrong/right thing with this (both sides were wrong in how they handled everything), but this run made you relevant again, like it or not. They took a chance and brought you back when no one else did.

Maybe he was annoyed at giving the "rub" to the Bucks and Perry but endorsing them early on? Who knows. And they didn't "take a chance" and bring him back. Haha. They wanted him from the very start and thanked the maker when he finally said yes.

I’ll rephrase because you’re right. He should be grateful that they wanted him when no one else did and either he whiffed in other endeavors or at the time, wouldn’t/couldn’t go back to WWE.

If anything, he should be grateful to WWE for taking him back and allowing him to have a final run he never could have in a negative place like AEW.
