Has anybody confirmed whether or not Swerve is legitimately injured?

I mean, it has to be real. Like why would he post that right before the PPV? I assume they’ll address it on TV. At least they should. If he’s cleared enough, obviously they’ll do the “he’s going through with the match, but at what cost?” direction.
If it’s storyline, this gives Swerve an out for Lashley to beat him, look dominating in the process and come back and say he wasn’t 100%.

Kenny Omega told Fightful Select that he is making his in-ring return to NJPW instead of AEW because of the following reasons:
"The way I look at it is -- a lot of people, not only in Japan but internationally, they never knew who I was until I did big things in New Japan. So I really do owe New Japan a gigantic thank you. I do feel like there's some debt I have to pay in some form or fashion. If by making a comeback at the Tokyo Dome is a way to help repay that; if it can help do something for their business, then I'm more than happy to do that.
I'm sure, naturally, the next question is well 'why not AEW first?' That is the company I helped create and that is the company I am contracted to. It makes sense.
It's tough to answer. There's nothing wrong with AEW. Everything is flowing like clockwork. I feel like there's a spot for all of the hard working men and women. They've all worked incredibly hard to get their spots and keep their spots. I don't want to be that guy [to come and take that away].
When there's a opportunity, I'd love to be back if those guys can have me. But I feel like AEW has a good thing going. I don't think they need me."

I saw a video on that earlier Peeps. I'm dying to hear your thoughts on Kenny.

I know you didn't ask me because you hate me lately but I believe Kenny is the one that will eventually save AEW from Mox.

I saw a video on that earlier Peeps. I'm dying to hear your thoughts on Kenny. I think I realized around Wrestle Kingdom last year that I do still like Omega very much when he's not doing stupid shit with the Bucks. He could be a little like the Sting of AEW, feeling a little left out so he's making his return in New Japan since AEW "doesn't need him". I wouldn't mind him wrestling all over (New Japan, CMLL, etc.) before coming back to AEW next year to rescue the company from Moxley. Maybe they can hold the actual match off until All Out next year. That'd be pretty cool.

If it's not Omega it's gonna be Darby.

I don't think I would mind Darby either, but he's gonna need to go away for a bit then. Otherwise he's going to get stale taking beatings from Deathriders for the next 10 months.
Unless they plan on wrapping this all up by the New Year.

God no. Eddie can be a guy to come in and try, but he has to fail. You can cement Omega as a mega-star, or you can make a young guy like Darby the future. Wasting the moment on Eddie would be like having Brock end the Undertaker's streak.

If Eddie ever cared even a little bit about his physique, he could have been this generation's Stone Cold.

I like Eddy. But he's not the guy to represent a company and be the big hero.
He can be the sidekick, but not the star.

In Eddie’s defense, he got in the best shape of his career during his last run during the Continental Classic before he got hurt.
As for Kenny; part of me almost hopes he pulls a 2001 Austin Invasion and turns on AEW to join DeathRiders. It could be done, but I don’t think it’d be the smart route.
Kenny needs to be the guy to save AEW with the others, but they’re putting a lot of faith in him staying healthy if that’s the case.
I do miss Kenny an awful lot and he’s sorely needed as a babyface, I don’t care what he says.

I like Darby but having a guy that might not make it to 40 get all of this creative rub is just silly. I like the Speeps idea for Omega, but he's physically beat too. It needs to be someone that can be on top of your company for a long time and draw money.

The trouble is, I don't know who that is on the roster.
Ospreay is already a made guy.
Hobbs? I'd like it if he could be that guy. But he's also been injured, and not sure he has the charisma to be the guy.
Hangman? Swerve? You could do it with either of them I think, heck maybe even both of them.

Page going through depression, losing friends, going mad because of the Swerve feud, and coming out on the other end a complete man ready to put the company on his back would be a nice story. But I don't know if he's the guy either.

Tony put over Harley Cameron big time on the conference call saying she’s earned every chance she’s been given and delivers.
Agreed 100%. Harley is a gem.
